Over Again
Funeral

I tugged at the ends of my black dress as I held Zayn's hand. He was in a black suit with a black tie but a white dress shirt. We walked to Caleb's casket and looked at him.
His eyes were closed, and Zayn leaned into my ear.
"He could be sleeping," he whispered. I nodded, trying to hold bak the tears threatening to spill. I sniffled, and Zayn knew that tears could come soon. He took me away from Caleb, and Ella Maree and my aunt looked at my deceased brother.
"It's okay," Zayn whispered as my cheeks started to get run over by tears. "You'll be fine."
The thing is, my father, the drunken one, didn't even show up to his son's funeral. He probably is at the casino now playing slots.
"Mum," I said as we reached her. "Mum." I wrapped m arms around her, letting go of Zayn's hand. I silently cried into her shoulder.
"I know," she whispered, "I know."
When my mother needed to leave, she handed me over to Zayn, who took me out into the hall of the funeral home.
Zayn's hair was combed down, not in his usual quiff do.
"Sorry we're late," I heard someone say. I looked down the hall and saw four almost-familiar boy in black dressy suits. I wiped my tears, not wanting to look bad in front of these four attractive--Gracie, it's a funeral, why are you thinking that?
"Gracie," Zayn said, "these are the lads. That's Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis." He pointed to each one. Niall, the Irish blonde, came and wrapped hi arms around me
"I'm so sorry," he said, pulling back. Confused by the strange gesture, I just stared at Niall blankly as the boys introduced themselves.
Ella Maree suddenly popped her head out of the door to the room the funeral was in. "It's time for the burial."
