Over Again

Saf was in the backseat, but I was focused on the passenger. Gracie huge her wet knees to her chest, staring out the window. She wouldn't talk, not even give a glance to me. The radio was on, and one sons just ended.

"That was The American Authors with Best Day of My Life. Now, Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson," the radio guy said. I internally groaned. Of course this would come on with her in the car.

Here's the thing,
We started out friends.
It was cool, but it was all pretend.

I went to change the station, but I felt a hand grab my wrist. I looked and saw Gracie staring at my hand.

"Leave it on, please," she said. "I like this song." I nodded and she recoiled back into her spot.

The song ended, and it was then I really felt the guilt. Is this what she felt when I was gone?

"Zayn, that was my house," I heard Gracie say, snappin me back to reality. "You missed it."

"Oh," I mumbled. "Sorry."
