Stay True

Harry's POV
She stares at me for a few seconds. She stands up and walks to the kitchen. I follow.

''C'mon, Please,''I beg but she doesn't say anything. I will admit I've been a dick these few days.I just don't know why, honestly.

''Katie,....please.''I say and walk behind her. I put my hands on her waist as she leans on the counter.She pushes my hands away and walks past me.

''Babe.''i whine and follow her to the door. She grabs her purse and she opens the door.

A breeze hits my face and she starts toward her car.I run after her and grab her hand.

''Can we talk,please?'i ask.She shakes her head from left to right. She jerks her hand away and gets in the car. She starts it up but i tap on the window with my finger tip.

She looks at me and rolls her eyes.I know she can hear me, so i say,

''C'mon, Katie..please,we need to talk.''I beg several more times and she finally gives in.

She rolls down the window and looks at me. ''Can we talk?''i ask simply.''No.''she snaps, scaring me, I didn't know she would say anything.

I look into her eyes but I can tell she's pissed.I am too, just not at her.At my self.

''What do you want Harry?''she snaps be out of my trance.I look at her and lean down to the window.

''Where are you going?''I ask.She shrugs.''Are you leaving?''i ask.She takes a while to think about it, maybe five minutes.

The she finally looks at me.She sighs and mumbles,

''I never said i was leaving.''I smile. But then she opens her mouth and says,''But I never said i was staying, either.'' That deflated my heart,like a balloon.

She looks at the steering wheel, then at me. ''Are you coming back tonight?''i ask.She shrugs again.

But then she says something unexpected.

''Harry...go back inside.''She mumbles.''No. I won't. Not until you get inside.''i say. ''Then you'll be out here all night then, because I'm not going to be in the same house as you.''she snaps.I sigh.

She mumbles,''Tell Darcy I'll be back later...'' I nod and she rolls up the window.But before she pulls off she takes a good look at me.Disgusted look. That's what it was.

That was her disgusted look. Her eye brow arched, her left one for exact, a little. her lips in a straight line. Her nose crinkled slightly.Her dimples dented because she didn't smile. Her cheeks pale, her eyes narrowed.

And her breathing steady and calm. She's,....disgusted by me...

I watch her car pull from our,I guess 'My' I really don't know right now, driveway.

She drives down the road,probably to no where. She might go to Trey's though, they are good friends. But...I don't know.

I go back inside and walk up the stairs. I open Darcy's bedroom door and she's under the covers of her bed.

I felt like I've neglected her. I haven't tucked her in or read her a story before bed in a week almost.

She must hate me.Because I do.So does Katie.

I walk over to her and she looks at me. I kneel down beside the bed and take her hand. I squeeze it tight.

''Daddy.....do you still wove me?''She asks. I bite the inside of my cheek, holding the tears back.

''Of course I love you,What makes you think I don't?''i ask,knowing the answer.But i need to hear her sweet voice.

''You haven't talked to me all week.....'' she mumbles.''Or Mama.''she adds.I look in her eyes.

Pain.

I see the pain in her facial expression. Her eyes watery, her eyebrows lowered, her lips in a frown, her whole face just looks...like she saw a puppy being killed.

Pain.

She looks at me and says,''Daddy, you wove Mama?'' I sigh and say,''Of course I love her...i love you both..so much..''i say.

''Then why she leave?''She asks. ''How'd you know that?''i ask.''I look from the window.''she mumbles. I look at the window.

Yep. The curtains pulled open. Perfect view of the driveway.

''I don't know why she left...'' I lie to my own daughter.What a great father i am. I have to lie right now, If I told Darcy Katie might not be coming back tonight,that would crush her.So I have to save us,her, more pain.

She moves over in the bed and pats the spot beside her for me.i smile and turn the lights off. Its getting late any ways...

I cover us up and i hold her in my arms. ''Mama be back?''she asks. I kiss the top of her head and say,''I'm not sure...Baby, I'm not sure..''
