In a Heartbeat
Voices
I woke up and looked at my watch. 5 am? No way. I never wake up this early on my day off. I glanced over at the couch and saw a blanket.
Where's Melody? I wondered, beginning to panic. With her, you just never know. She could be halfway across the continent by now. Or laying dead in a ditch. I started to hyperventilate. Why am I getting so worked up over this? I've only known her for barely 24 hours! Suddenly, my hearing kicked in. The shower was running.
Thank God! I thought. I took in my surroundings. Niall, of course, was upside-down on the couch. Heather was sleeping on the other end, sprawled out in every direction. Ella was sprawled out as well, and Liam was a good five feet away. Zayn was in the corner. I stood up and glanced down at the coffee table. I jumped back in fright as I realized that someone was under it. I looked a little closer and realized it was just Louis.
I walked into the kitchen and noticed that Melody's bag was missing. She must have taken it into the bathroom with her. I walked back out to the sitting room, then to the freakishly large closet in the corner where I had stashed my bag when we got here. I grabbed some clothes, then pulled on a hoodie. I pulled the hood over my head and kept my head down low as I walked down the hallway to the bathroom. I changed quickly then headed back to the suite.
I had almost made it to the door when a girl walked by me and saw me. Of course I had been careless enough to not put on the hoodie. She stopped in her tracks, wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
"You're... You're... You're.... OH. MY. GOD. I can't believe it's YOU! Um.. um.. don't move! I'll be right back! Don't. Go. Anywhere!" she said quickly, then ran off in the other direction. She came back in a few seconds with a piece of paper with a phone number written on it.
"What's this?" I asked? "Your phone number?"
"No. It's my friend's phone number. It's her birthday today and she's your biggest fan. She knows all the words to every single one of your songs and has been to five of your concerts. She's even flown overseas to see you guys. It would mean so much to her if you called her or texted her or something," she explained.
My brain started to function finally and I came up with a really good idea.
"I can do better than that. Don't tell her anything about meeting me, okay love?" I said, smiling.
"O-kay...." she said, not sure what else to do.
"What's her name?"
"Olivia Perkins. We're in room 311 if you need to know," she replied.
"Thanks, love," I said, walking away. "Bye now!"
"Bye!"
I opened the door to the suite and headed into the sitting room. I was about to pick up the phone to order room service when I heard something. I walked slowly to the bathroom door and pressed my ear up against it.
‘Cuz now you’re gone
And I can’t wait to see you again
But for now
I’m watching for you
‘Cuz now you’re gone
And I’m still here
Hoping that you’ll come back for me
From the dark
Come into the light
Notes
Okay, so the ending's pitiful, I know. But it's the best I could come up with because I have an AMAZING idea in my head and if I don't hurry up and type it I'm going to forget it. So... yeah. That's it for now. I have a feeling the next chapter will be online in the next hour or so. Or tomorrow sometime.
HEY. Your official-unofficial announcements sadden me. No promises or not, I really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY hope you decide to eventually continue. I won't even be mad if you do a rewrite but dude, you gotta do something. I WILL DIE IF THIS STORY DOES NOT CONTINUE.
