Chapter 10

I woke up Monday morning in the best mood I've been in in a long time. I actually felt like straightening my hair today(which usually takes a long time) and dressing up nice.
"Good morning dad! Good morning Stephanie"! I said walking into the kitchen with a smile. They both looked confused.
"Good morning", they said more like a question.
"I'm going to go look at myself in the mirror before I go. I'll be right back", I said with a smile. Dad laughed as I walked back to my room. I looked in the mirror and spun around in my dress. Today was such a great day and I was so happy that I wasn't with Justin anymore. I was going to continue to be around him since he's the father of my baby. I hope I can hide it from Stephanie and dad. Dad especially. I sat down on my bed and started scrolling through Instagram. Good way to start the morning. I suddenly got a text from Alyssa.
Alyssa: So. I heard you're preggo.

I raised my eyebrows and replied with

Me: How do you know?
Alyssa: Dude. The whole school knows. When I was knocked out at the party, I guess you shouted it to everyone. Oh btw, I went to the doctors yesterday morning and apparently I had ecstasy in my system. I woke up, sleeping on the same couch as Nate!
Me: Fine, you caught me. I'm pregnant. But Skylar was on top of him without a shirt on and they were making out so I dumped the asshole. And OMG are you okay?!
Alyssa: Good thing! He always looked like he had some sort of feelings for her and I was about to shove my flute down his throat. And yeah I'm totally fine.
Me: Good! And yeah well I gotta go. Walking to school solo this morning(;
Alyssa: Buh-bye(:

I put my phone in my strapless bra, grabbed my backpack, and went out to the kitchen. My heart stopped when I seem Justin sitting at the kitchen table. He and my dad were laughing about something. Once he noticed I was there, he gave me a fake smile.
"Oh hi baby! You look beautiful as always", he said standing up. I fake smiled back.
"Thanks..." I said quietly. What was he doing here?! I made it very clear at the party that we were done.
"How long has it been"? Dad asked.
"This December will be 4 years", he said grabbing my hand. I tried pulling away as unnoticeable as possible.
"Okay we should probably get going", I said quickly.
"Have a good day at school you two", Stephanie said as I walked away. Justin followed me out of the door. I started fast walking down my long dirt road/driveway. Justin tried catching up with me.
"Darcy slow down"! He said. I ignored him. My good mood was officially gone because of his stupid ass showing up and acting like nothing happens Saturday night.
"Darcy", he said again. I stopped an turned around.
"No! Stop! You're just acting like nothing happened between Skylar and you", I said. He sighed.
"You found out"? He asked.
"What the hell are you talking about? I seen you two! Oh wait, you were probably to drunk to remember"! I said freaking out.
"Don't worry baby. I made sure I used protection with her so I would I only have your kid and not hers. It was just a one night stand that will not happen again", he said. I rolled my eyes and started walking again. All of the sudden, I stopped and turned around. Tears started forming.
"Wait. What"? I asked as tears fell.
"Um what's wrong? You said you seen us and I said I was sorry. What more can I do"? He asked.
"I seen you guys kissing. There was more?!" I shouted. I was now an emotional wreck.
"Well technically if you broke up with me like you said you did, having sex with her wasn't cheating", he said with a laugh. His joke was NOT funny.
"You know what? Have that hoe, you fucking asshole! Just remember...if they cheat with you, they'll cheat on you", I said storming away. I was not going to be late for school because of him.
"Fine bitch, leave! I'm taking my baby though", he said. I hated him with my life.
"Actually I'm taking MY baby! We are SOO done", I yelled.
"So you're dumping me"? He asked with a laugh.
"I thought I made that clear"! I yelled without turning around. School was only a block away and I was still bawling my eyes out. I turned around a little to see him put in his headphones in and walk super slow far behind me. This was probably the worst day ever.

As soon as I walked into school, the first hour bell rang. Great. I was going to be tardy. I went to my locker right by the door and grabbed my math and Spanish things. The mirror in my locker showed me a girl who's makeup was down her face and her straightened hair was now messed up. I took a makeup wipe from a box in my locker and started taking off the eyeliner and mascara that had been running down my cheeks. I didn't bring an extra eyeliner and mascara with me so I guess I was going to look dead for the rest of the day. I brushed my hair out a little so at least I looked decent. I slammed my locker door and headed to my first class which just happened to be the farthest from my locker. I walked down the long hallway quickly to see if I could be tardy at a decent time. I thought about how Skylar and Justin were in my class right now and there was nothing I could do about it. I finally reached the door and walked in. Everyone's head turned to look at me. Some people tried holding back a laugh. I rolled my eyes and walked up to the teacher.
"We're just doing a partner assignment in the book. To be honest, Xavier looks like he's urging for a partner. He's said no to everyone and said "I'm waiting for someone". I seen the way he brightened when you walked in", she said. I smiled, nodded, and walked back to my seat. Xavier turned around and smiled.
"Hey I finished the assignment for us so you don't have to do it. Your welcome", he said with a smile.
"How do you know that I wanted to be your partner"? I asked with a smirk while looking at 'our' paper.
"I knew you'd come running", he joked.
"My seat is right behind yours", I said. He rolled his eyes and we both laughed.
"So. I heard about Justin and Skylar at the party", he said more seriously. I nodded slowly.
"You didn't go to the party"? I asked.
"No I didn't feel like going. I had stuff going on", he said.
"Oh I'm sorry. Trust me, you wouldn't have wanted to", I said.
"Yeah I heard Alyssa got drugged", he said.
"Yeah she did. I only showed up for a few seconds to see Justin and Skylar making out and I threw my pregnancy test at him and left", I sighed. His eyes bugged out of his head.
"Whoa whoa whoa. Back up", he said.
"Out of all the things you've heard about, you didn't hear about me being pregnant? Pretty much the whole school knows", I said.
"You're still not with Justin right"? He asked.
"Hell no", I said quickly. He smiled.
"We'll that's just wonderful", he said. I smiled back.
"Well thanks for doing our assignment", I said.
"No problem", he said. I was so happy that I had a guy friend that I could actually go to when I need help.

For the last 2 hours of the day, we had the band play their halftime show for us in the gym. They had been working the whole month of August on their halftime show for the football game this Friday. I sat in the front row of the bleachers and took out my phone so I could record Alyssa. I watched as Skylar marched in first with her snare drum around her body with two other drummers to follow. It felt odd seeing Skylar in a band uniform. I could picture her playing drums in a punk band, not a marching band. After the drummers came the flutes. I looked at Alyssa with a smile and she tried not messing up with me looking at her. After everyone marched in the gym, they marched to their places and took forever to finish their song. All of the sudden, I turned around to see Justin sitting by Nate.
"THERE'S MY GIRL"! Justin yelled pointing to Skylar.
"THE DRUMMER! SHE'S MINE"! He yelled again. All of the other drummers were guys except for a freshman bass drummer and I was sure he was talking about Skylar.
"WOOO"! Justin yelled. I turned around angrily.
"Hey I kind of have a headache so could you quiet down"? I snapped.
"Fuck off", he said.
"Really"? I said.
"Yes really", he answered.
"Why are you such a dick? You cheated on me, called me names, peer pressured me into having sex with you and now I'm"-
"Yes Darcy I know. "I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant". Well guess what? I'm sick of hearing it. When that baby's born, I'll be the best father in the world and I'll fight until I die for custody of that child", he said. Nate looked at me concerned.
"You're hilarious if you even think about getting full custody of this child. You smoke weed all the time, you drink, you're a complete asshole, and I'm never going to have my child see you as a male role model in their life", I said. He started getting irritated.
"Man, I fucking hate you", he said.
"I know you hate me but since I'm having your baby, you're going to have to deal with me for a long time", I said wrapping it up. I turned back around and put my hands over my face. What was I going to do?
