Adopted

Megan's POV

"Meg wake up." Someone said.

"Who is it?" I asked with my eyes closed.

"It's Hayes. Now get up." Hayes said as I sat up quickly making my head hurt from the sudden movement.

"What are you doing here?" I said rubbing my eyes trying to make the blur go away. "Miss Wes will kill you if she found you in here."

"Yeah, yeah I know." He said.

"How'd you even get in here?" I asked looking around the room to see the other girls still asleep since it was the weekend.

"I came in through the fire escape." He said simply.

"Well get out of here before Miss Wes gets in here." I told him pushing him off my bed.

"Okay but get up and ask Miss Wes if you can come to my house for awhile." Hayes said.

"Why?" I asked.

"It's a surprise." He replied.

"Hayes, you know I hate surprises." I whined.

"I know." He said smirking then walking towards the fire escape. "Be there in a hour okay."

"Sure whatever." I said getting up walking over to my two drawers. I settled on a black tank top and blue jeans. I grabbed my converses and put them on then walked down stairs to find Miss Wes sitting at the counter drinking her morning coffee while looking in a magazine.

"Hey Miss Wes. Can I go over to my friends house?" I asked.

"Which friend?" She asked.

"Hayes." I mumbled quietly.

"Megan, you know I don't like him. Ever since he came running into the house in only his underwear." She said taking a sip of her coffee.

"Thats how we became best friends and it was a dare." I said seriously.

"Who would dare someone to do that?" She said in disbelief.

"His brothers best friend." I said smiling.

"Well ,Megan, I suppose you can go but only until four." She said.

"Why can't I stay longer?" I whined

"Because we have someone coming to look to adopt one of you girls." Miss Wes said.

"Whatever. But thank you for letting me go." I said knowing the person wouldn't adopt me. No one wants a thirteen year old thats about to turn fourteen in two weeks, they all want babies. But oh well at least I have people in my life who treat me like family.

"Goodbye, Megan." Miss Wes called as I opened the front door.

"Bye." I called back. As I walked to Hayes' house which was only a few streets away I thought about the adopter that was coming. Miss Wes didn't say if it was a he or a she coming maybe even both. Will the person even think about adopting me, or will they go straight for the baby part of the house? I guess time will tell. After a while of thinking I finally reached Hayes house. I knocked on their front door.

"I'll get it!" I heard Hayes little sister Sky yell.

"Hold up Sky let someone go with you!" I heard someone else yell. A few seconds later Sky opened the door with Matt right behind her.

"Megan!" Sky screamed loudly running to my legs to hug them.

"Hey Sky." I said waiting for her to let go of my legs.

"Hi Meg." Matt said as he got Sky off my legs.

"Hey." I said with a smile.

"Hayes is in his room." Matt said.

"Okay thanks." I said walking into the kitchen to see Nash(Hayes' older brother), Cameron(Nash's best friend), and Matt(Another one of Nash's best friends) sitting back down. I walked over to the fridge and grabbed a water out of it.

"Make your self at home, Megan." Nash said.

"Thanks I will." I said smiling then walking upstairs with Sky right behind me.

"Hey Sky do you want to color a picture of a horse for me so I can put it on my wall?" I asked.

"Yeah!" She yelled and ran to her room. I walked up to Hayes' door and knocked on it.

"Come in." Hayes said.

"What are you doing?" I asked seeing him set up his camera.

"This is the surprise." He said.

"We're going to make a YouTube video since its your birthday next week and this is one of your presents from me." Hayes said.

"Hayes you don't have to get me anything else. A YouTube video is good enough." I said honestly.

"I suppose. But I already but you're other present already." He said.

"Return it." I said.

"Nope it's something special so I can't." He said.

"How is it special?" I asked.

"I can't tell you. You'll have to wait until next week." He said.

"But-" I said being cut off by him.

"But nothing you have to wait." Hayes said smiling. "Fine." I said in defeat.

"Oh yeah I have to leave at four." I said.

"What, why?" He whined.

"Someone is coming to look to adopt someone. But I know the person will most likely go to the baby area so I don't know why she wants me there. Even if they did they would probably pick one of the pretty girls instead of me." I said.

"Meg, you never know. You might just get adopted." He said.

"I don't even need to get adopted. I have people who act like my family right here." I said smiling at Hayes.

"True." He said.

"Lets make this video then." I said.

"Okay." I said smiling. Hayes turned on the camera and started talking.

"Hey everybody! Today we have Megan here!" He said making crazy hand gestures to me as I laughed at him.

"Hi guys." I said to the camera.

"Well in about a week it's Megan's birthday." He said in a silly voice.

"She's turning fourteen. Yay! So we are-" He started to say before he got interrupted.

"Megan, Miss Wes called she needs you back there to help get the babies ready." Nash said.

"Okay." I said. "We can do this later okay?"

"Yeah sure." Hayes said standing up then giving me a hug. "Bye."

"Bye." I said leaving his room to go to Sky's room.

"Hey Sky I'm leaving." I said.

"But I don't want you to go." She whined.

"I have to but I'll be back later." I said.

"Okay. I'll give you your horse picture later." She said.

"Bye." I said as she ran to hug my legs.

"Bye bye." She said going back to coloring. As I walked downstairs the guys yelled byes. Walking out their house I started to think about how it would be if I got adopted. Would they love close to here? Would it be a dad and a mom? A mom and a mom? Or a dad and a dad? Before I knew it I arrived at the orphanage house. I walked in and there was Miss Wes running around chasing some little girls.

"Megan, can you go into the babies room and change them?" Miss Wes asked with pleading eyes.

"Sure." I said going into the room nearest to the kitchen.

"Mmm" Alexandra said standing in her crib attempting saying my name.

"Hey Alex." I said picking her up. "Lets get you dress first, okay."

"Babb." She said nodding. I walked to the drawer that was labeled Alexandra and grabbed a onesie that was pink with a duck on it. I walked over to the changing table with Alex in my arms and set her down on the table. I took off her pajamas and started to change her diaper. I opened her diaper and almost past out.

"Alex what did you eat?" I asked putting my shirt over my nose. As I changed her diaper she only laughed at me. Once I finished putting her diaper on and got we dressed I picked her up and brought her to her crib. Before I put her down I kissed her head and placed her down. I continued that same routine with all the babies. Once I was finished with all twenty three babies it was around twelve thirty. Which meant it was time for me to feed all the babies. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bag and but a bunch of baby food, baby spoons, and napkins then walked back to the babies room. When I walked in a heard soft cries and went to that crib first.

"Hey Lexi." I said picking her up. "Are you hungry?" I asked her as I walked to the chair that she gets fed in. I opened a jar of carrots and started to fed her. I put her back in her crib when I was done feeding her, then continued doing that with all the babies. As I put the last baby in her crib it was around two thirty. So I had thirty minutes until the adopter came, so I walked in the kitchen and grabbed an already made sandwich and went upstairs and started to play Snappy Dragon while I ate my ham sandwich. It's very addicting you have to eat all the fruit in the air with the dragon before they fall on the ground. Before I knew Miss Wes called all the girls down stairs which meant the adopter was here. I put my phone down and went down stairs along with the other girls.

"Girls this is Mr. Tomlinson he will be adopting one of you today." Miss Wes said. The name sounded familiar and a few ten year old girls started to cry when she said is name. I don't know why though. The man looked down the line and looked at me for a second then asked if he could see the babies. Miss Wes said I can show him since she needed to watch the other girls.

"What's your name?" Mr. Tomlinson asked just before we reached the babies room. I could tell he was from England by his accent which scared me.

"Megan." I answered. Once we got into the room Alexandra was standing in her crib again.

"Meg." She said

"You said my name. That's great." I said happily.

"Can you tell me there names?" Mr. Tomlinson asked as I picked Alexandra up.

"Yes. That's Alexandra, Lexi, Charlotte, Madison, Lily, Sally, Rebecca, Ashley, Stacy, Melody, Liv, Rachel, Jamie, Kelly, Kristen, Tracy, Brenda, Macie, Cassidy, Julie, Nicole, Diana , and Penelope." I said pointing to each one of them.

"Thank you." He said as I put Alex down and walked out with him following me.

"Have you picked, sir?" Miss Wes asked.

"Yes, I have." Mr. Tomlinson said.

"Okay. Which one and while they pack I have some papers for you to fill out." Miss Wes said.

"I choose, Megan." He said. I started at him with confusion.

"Go upstairs and pack, Megan." Miss Wes said. I nodded and went upstairs. When I was finished packing my clothes I started taking my pictures off the wall. One was of me and my old best friend Wendy. She hasn't talked to me since there years ago when she got adopted. But I'm happy for her she must be really happy. Next was a picture of Hayes, the rest of the Magcon people, and me. Next was a picture of Hayes and I, I was looking at the camera while Hayes was looking at me smiling, it was my favorite picture of us. Once I was finished packing the pictures and my iPhone charger I zipped up my suitcase, looked around the room I stayed in since I was five one last time, and then walked downstairs. I walked to Miss Wes' office and noticed Mr. Tomlinson was still in there signing papers. So I ran to the babies room and kissed them all good-bye. Lexi and Alexandra were last. They were both crying so I guess they could since I was leaving for a while. I picked both of them up and kissed them both on their head.

"Bye girls. I'll be back to visit soon. You two were my best friends in this house since Wendy left." I said letting a tear slip. These were my two favorites out of all the babies. They were here the day Wendy and another girl left, I've been attached to them ever since. They both put there arms around me to hug me.

"B-bye Meg." Alex said. I smiled at her since she said my name again.

"Bbb mmm." Lexi said trying to attempt what Alex just said.

"Megan time to go." Miss Wes said by the doorway.

"Bye girls." I said kissing their heads one last time then placing them in their crib which made them cry.

"Good-bye Miss Wes." I said hugging her.

"Good-bye Megan." She said wiping a tear off her cheek. "Come back and visit any time."

"I will." I said.

"Let's go, Megan." Mr. Tomlinson said. I nodded. As we walked down the gravel path to a limo I asked a question I really hoped he'll say yes to.

"Umm… Mr. Tomlinson-" I said being cut off.

"Call me Louis." He said. "Or dad. But whenever you're ready."

"Can we stop by my friends house before we go anywhere?" I asked.

"But I'd like to walk please." I said.

"Uh okay. I'll wait here." He said unsure.

"I'll be back in about ten minutes to twenty minutes." I said running to Hayes house. It only takes a few minutes when I was running so I got there quickly. I knocked on the door hoping someone would answer quickly. A few seconds later Nash answered the door and I ran past him.

"Nice to see you too, Megan." Nash called. I ran into Hayes room to find him on looking at YouTube videos we made together.

"Hayes!" I yelled happy he was here.

"Megan, you can't do that to me." He said jokingly.

"I just got adopted." I said.

"Megan, I'm so happy for you." He said getting up and hugging me.

"His name is Louis Tomlinson, the name. It sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it." I said.

"Wait, Louis Tomlinson?" He asked. I nodded.

"He's in One Direction that huge British-Irish boy band."

"And how do you know that, Mr. Grier?" I asked smirking.

"Sky listens to them all the time. It gets really annoying." Hayes said.

"Wait. British. Band." I said getting worried. "You mean he's from London and he tours. Hayes I'll never be able to see you." I said holding back tears.

"Megan, we can FaceTime, call, text, and all that. It's going to be fine." He said pulling me into another hug. "But now for the hard part."

"I have to tell Sky." I said starting to walk to Sky's room with Hayes right behind me.

"Sky." I said opening the door to see her doing a puzzle.

"Megan! You're back!" Sky said running to hug my legs. "Sky today I got adopted and I'm about to leave." I said.

"What?" She said with her lip starting to quiver and tears begin to form.

"Don't worry we can FaceTime all the time okay." I said hugging her. "Do you have the picture of the horse you colored for me?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said wiping some tears away them walked over to her small desk and grabbed the picture. I squatted down to her size. She handed me the picture and have me a hug.

"Bye Megan." She said then going ok her bed and put her face in her pillow. I stood up to my normal height.

"Bye Sky." I said walking out if her room and started walking down stairs with Hayes by my side. When we got to the front door I gave Hayes one last hug.

"I'm going to miss you so much." I said.

"I'm going to miss you so much more." He said back to me. Once I backed away from the hug I walked out the front door and started to run back to where Louis was waiting for me. Once I was almost out of site from Hayes' house i stopped running and I turned back to look at him one more time before I left. I waved to him and he waved back. I then turned and ran the rest of the way back. Once I got there Louis was on his phone waiting for me. He looked up from his phone and saw me then smiled.

"Are you ready?" He asked. I faked a smile and nodded.

"Megan! Megan, wait up!" I heard Hayes yelled. I turned to see Hayes running with a box in his hand. Once he reached me he handed me the box and said

"Happy early birthday."

"Thank you." I said not wanting to leave him.

"Well I have to head back my mom doesn't know I left." He said running off.

I turned to the orphanage house and took one last look I spent my whole life in then got into the limo to see five other boys and one girl that looked about the same age as me.

"Megan, you are one of the five to be adopted by One Direction." Louis said smiling. "Ariel is another one of the five." I just nodded and looked out the window taking one last look at everything. This day will change my life forever.

Okay so I'm pretty sure this is the longest chapter I've ever written in my life. It took me at least three or four hours to write this, I know that is too long to write a chapter but whatever. As you can see I'm a huge fan of the Magcon boys. :) I hope you all like this chapter it really took a lot of work.
