Stuck With You
Chapter 3
“I am not doing that.” I scoffed, folding my across my chest in protest.
“Oh c’mon it’ll be a laugh.”
“Why don’t you do it then?” I asked Maria, raising my eyebrows at her
“Because I don’t have any fans who want to see me being cool.” She joked sarcastically.
“If I do it will you buy me a Starbucks?”
“Fine-”
“At Times Square.” I smirked trying to settle the deal.
“Do you know how busy it’ll be in the middle of the evening?”
“Fine, no photo then.”
“Okay, okay, just hurry up before the boat leaves without us.”
“This better work because my ice-cream is melting.”
“Just move to the left a bit, and hold your am up.”
“There?”
“Higher!” She commended.
“I’m not trying to wave down a plane.”
“Higher.” She repeated ignoring me. “Okay, perfect. Now smile.”
“She’s not smiling.” I responded, scrunching my face at the statue of Liberty direct behind me.
“She’s also not holding an ice-cream. Just smile.” Maria chuckled.
“Happy?” I grinned, posing for the camera in the exact same stance as the actual statue.
“Perfect.”
“Finally, can we go back now?”
“Yes, alright. Just sit near the edge of the boat in case you get sea sick again.”
“I can’t help it.” I defended. “And I’m dying for a coffee and a nap, I’m so tired.”
“Natasha, it’s only 6 and this is the city that never sleep.”
“And I’m Natasha, the girl that always sleeps.” I joked earning a small laugh to escape Maria’s lips. “How can you just sleep all day?” She was shaking her head at the thought of someone lying in bed all day.
“I don’t do it very often now.” I admitted. “I sometimes like to play music and lie down for hours, it’s really relaxing.”
“Hunny, you’re on the ladder to being famous, there’s not time to relax.”
“Can’t wait.” I mumbled.
“What?”
“Nothing.” I replied, flashing a small smile before we sat in our seats. The sun was beginning to set as I looked up form the boat floor to the sun fading in the distance.
“How you feeling?” Mari voice knocked me out of my trance.
“Uh? Oh, I’m okay, does this thing have to rock so much?”
“Hunny, it’s a boat, it’s what they do.” She joked. I could sense Maria was trying not to laugh but I don’t blame her, we’ve been on beard for five minutes maximum and I’m probably already turning green.
“Try breathing deeply.” She advised, patting my back gently.
“Excuse me?” I looked up form where I was sitting, almost chocking to death, to see a girl who looked around the age of 14 or 15 staring at me with pleasing eyes. She was rocking back and forth on her heels.
“Hello?” I questioned trying not to sound too weird or awkward.
“Are you Natasha?” I have to admit I was pretty shocked when she knew my name, my eyes even went wide.
“That would be me.” I grinned trying to look confident.
“I can’t believe I’m meeting you!” She squealed in high pitch voice. “You toured with One Direction didn’t you?!” She questioned.
“I did indeed.” I chuckled.
“Can I get a picture with you?”
“Uh, sure.”
“Here, let me take it.” Maria offered already taking the girls camera.
“Thanks.”
“Natasha, stand next to her.” I would have much preferred to stayed sat down but I couldn’t be rude.
“What’s your name?” I asked whilst Mari fiddled with the camera.
“Dianna.” She beamed.
“Awesome, nice to meet you Dianna.”
“You’re so nice!” She giggled, I’m not sure if she was nervous or if she was a giggler, it’s hard to determine these days.
“Can I ask how you know about me?”
“I’m a massive directioner, even though I can’t follow them on tour everywhere I know a lot about the, I have a tumblr dedicated to them and then one day a picture of you with Harry came up so I did some stalking.” She chuckled. “And then Louis tweeted about your CD and I literally fell in love. I love your voice so much.”
“Aw, thank you, that means a lot to me.”
“Ready?” Maria questioned. “Okay, 3 2 1, say cheese!”
“Cheeeeeese.” We both replied as the flash went off.
“Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome.” I smiled, begging to be able to sit down again.
“Do you still speak to the boys?”
“Sure do.” I managed to open my mouth again.
“Can you tell them I love them very much and they’re my inspiration?”
“Of course, do you have a twitter?”
“Yeah DiannaDirectioner.”
“Awesome, tweet me the picture!”
“Thank you so much.” She squealed again before making me jump.
“No problem.” I sifted a laugh and hugged her back. “It was nice meeting you.” I breathed a sigh of relief when she let go, her mum literally pulled her away like she was on a leash which made me laugh
*
“So many people!”
“It’s New York, what do you expect?” Maria laughed in my direction. The streets were flooded with people.
“Some space to breath!” I replied, almost gasping for my breath as we entered Starbucks.
“Just steal someone else’s air, it’s how people live in the big apple.”
“I don’t live in the big apple.”
“You never know what the future hold. Anyway, it’s on me. What do you want?”
“I can pay for mine you know, I was joking earlier.”
“Stop being such a girl and tell me what you want.” She joked.
“Hmm…I fancy an ice caramerl macchiato, but can I get it made with soy milk and extra squirt chocolate.”
“Wow, fussy much? I was expecting a latte or a hot chocolate.”
“I’m a girl, I have needs!” I defended, laughing.
“Unfortunately I have to cater for them needs.” Maria jested. “Go grab us a table before someone with a laptop hogs them all as they pretend to do work.”
“Will do.” I replied with a subtle laugh before I walked back for the shop looking for a place to sit. When I finally found one, I starting checking my messages quickly. To my surprise I actually didn’t have any new ones which seemed odd since Louis said he would constantly text me about what he was doing. My finger hovered over his name before I pressed the call button. I gnawed on my lips whilst I waited for an answer, but it never came.
“Here you go.” My head snapped up as Maria placed my drink right in front of me.
“Thanks.” I replied.
“Who were you on the phone with?”
“No one, they didn’t pick up.” I sighed.
“Oh, who were you ringing?”
“Louis.”
“He’s not picking up?” She asked sipping on her hot drink.
“No, he hasn’t even text either.
“Maybe he left his phone somewhere.”
“Maybe.” I tried to think of the possibility of him leaving his phone somewhere.
“He could just be busy.”
“I know and I guess it’s late there but he said he would text constantly and ring every so often, he rang yesterday but only briefly.”
“Don’t swell on it, are you going to follow that girl on twitter?”
“Oh yeah, thank for reminding me.” I followed her and sent a brief tweet telling her how pleasant it was to meet her. I sent the tweet and headed back to my timeline. “That odd…” I mumbled.
“What?”
“Louis just tweeted…from his phone.”
“How do you know it was form his phone?”
“It say when you click on the tweet say?”
“Great day with everyone, recording going well, anyone want to do a Q&A” I bit my lip as I stared at my phone.
“Maybe you should send him one asking why he won’t pick up the phone.”
“No, I don’t want to cause any drama, maybe he was just busy.”
“Nata-”
“Probably just busy.” I sighed although I knew it probably wasn’t the case. I had tour to focus on right now the last thing I need is my boyfriend ignoring me and Jenna clawing at the back of my mind.
“We should probably go back now, big day tomorrow!”
“Yeah, okay.” I managed to draw out a small smile before following her out of the coffee shop and back onto the busy streets of New York.
