Unknown Secrets
I cross my arms as I watch the girl with the blonde hair punch the bag. My eyes scan her arm movements, trying to remember ever twitch her arm makes to possibly use for help on my try of the new kick and punch combo.
She lets out a yell as she jumps and kicks the bag with enough force to knock me down, but probably not all the other students. Our instructor nods. "Excellent work, except you need more practice in arm balance."
She nods her thanks as he scans his list. We don't go in any type of order, he randomly crosses out names. Our instructor is probably at least 40 but still stronger than everyone here. He has grey hair and bright blue eyes.
"Jeremy." He calls out to me, and some people snicker. I know what they're thinking, that I won't even make the bag move. I'm determined to wipe that smirk off their faces.
I pull up my sleeves and flop my mess of red locks of hair to the side as I focus my attention on the bag. My hands curl into fists as I slam my fist into the bag, moving my arms to reflect the girl and the instructor's movements. I quickly turn so that I kick the bag and slam it into the instructor. It's an accident and he knows it, but he still shoots be a dirty look.
"Your kick needs more force and practice in arm balance. Don't copy others but be original, will you?"
I curl my fists up again as I hang my head and storm off into the crowd. The only time I try to do it correctly, he gets pissed. Thanks, you fucking ass.
"You did good," Jessa compliments as we start for the cafeteria. I shrug. "Sure I did. You did freaking amazing. He didn't tell you anything."
"You were in the bathroom when he told me about my kick," She replies, rolling her eyes. "And besides, everybody got complained to.. except for.."
I scratch my forehead and stare straight ahead, quickening my pace. "Fuck that. Louis thinks he's hot shit but in reality he's not." I mumble the last part, looking over my shoulder. He's there, of course, but didn't hear me, fortunately. He's with his friends, too, so I know he won't try to attack me. I still haven't recovered from bruises and shock.
Oh, and there was something about him being a Romeo, something Jaylene said. It didn't process in my mind at that moment, but it's slipped my thoughts recently. I wonder what she means by that?
"The only reason he acts like that is because he's jealous of you," Jessa thumps me with her arm as he looks at me. I laugh. "Him jealous? That's like saying love at first sight is real. It's untrue."
"He has problems. A lot," She retorts and I yawn.
"He's jealous of you because you seem so carefree. He wants your quiet, normal life."
"No, his problems are that he acts like a prissy bitch."
I say it quietly, so he won't hear, but still, when he does say it, I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack.
"The prissy bitch is behind you," I hear him clear his throat.
"And I don't have any fucking problems, Evans, except for you and Name-Caller here going to ABB."
"Oh, shut up," Jessa hisses under her breath and hits his arm before starting back for the cafeteria. I start back with her, but Louis calls to his friends, "Go get her."
They start for Jessa, and he turns back and smirks, slamming me against a wall.
I can feel his hot breath on my face and I gnaw on my cheek. He has his hand on the wall beside me, near my ear.
"What did she tell you?"
"A - about what?" I stammer. He glares at me, a sign of hatred flashing through those blue-green, mysterious eyes of his.
"About me, dumbass."
"Y - you have secrets?" I never thought he would have secrets. I always considered bratty populars to be open books, unlike people like me who keep their feelings stuck inside themselves. Yes, I have a soul and I have secrets.
His jaw tightens. His lips go pale and he releases me. Again, he stares at me for a couple seconds before muttering strongly, "No, no I don't."
"If you don't, then -"
"Shut up!" Louis shouts, and his voice echos through the now-empty halls. I shrink back against the walls. He's always staring at me whenever we fight, not making a move at all. I know he can't trust me due to the short history of hate we have, but there's a secret bottled inside him, maybe even a lot, that I feel I should know.
