Blinded Souls

Chapter 2

Harry's POV
School is hell. I'm not even going to sugar code it like, "School is hard, but at least you get to be wit your friends". Nope school is just plain hell, especially because I don't have friends. I have like two people who will talk to me, but they're not really considered friends to me. There's Luke, he wants to be a musician some day, and he's actually quite good at singing and playing guitar. There's also Michael he's funny and also wants to be a musician, but I haven't heard him play yet.
Most of my teachers are pretty nice too, they probably do that out of pity though. I actually think I like the teachers who aren't nice to me more, at least they're somewhat honest.
So yeah, school is hell.
For the longest time school couldn't get worse. But what do you know, it did.
That morning started out like every other school day. I ate breakfast, got ready, Liam dropped me off at school, attempt to navigate my way to my classes with out freaking out from all the loud noise around me, and get made fun of somewhere along the way.
It was after English class is when things got bad.
"Harry, are you sure you'll be fine heading to your next class alone?" Ms. Menzel, my English teacher asked. She cared a lot about me, and asked me that everyday.
"No, I'll be fine. See you tomorrow!" I responded, like I did everyday.
And I was on my way to maths.
Surprisingly, I was not bullied on my way.
Mrs. Chenoweth's classroom wasn't very far from English, so I was one of the first people there.
I could tell because it was very quiet, when her class is usually very loud.
I could feel a gaze on me, but it wasn't Mrs. Chenoweth. She would usually greet the students. This person didn't speak a word.
I just shrugged it off and headed to my desk, it was the third one in the second row.
Soon enough everyone else came in.
"Hello class, Mrs. Chenoweth's father is in the hospital so she is visiting him. So for today I will be your substitute, my name is Ms. Beck."
Ms. Beck's voice sounded kind at first, but somehow sounded almost menacing by the end.
"Today we will be learning how to factor quadratic equations." she spoke with a faint disgust in her words.
I was confused on what the lesson was about. I could barely follow along. Usually Mrs. Chenoweth would give me a sheet of notes and equations written in braille so I could have an easier time following along. But Ms. Beck didn't give me a note sheet, so I was baffled to say the least.
"Mr. Styles, can you please answer the problem on the board?" Ms. Beck asked me.
"I'm sorry, but I can't." I told her simply.
"Why not? Were you not paying attention?" Ms. Beck asked sounding more disgusted.
"I was paying attention, I just can't see the problem." I explained.
"Can you not see over the person you're sitting behind? Because if you can't I can move you Mr. Styles." she said sounding very irritated.
"It's not that-" I started.
"Than what's the problem?" she cut me off seething.
"I'm blind." I stated.
The entire room was quiet. Then I heard Ms. Beck laugh.
"That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard Mr. Styles. Now just solve the problem." Ms. Beck said.
"Ms. Beck, he really is blind." a kid spoke up, I think his name was Calum.
"Oh it looks like you've got Mr. Hood also in on this shenanigan." she said sounding extremely pissed.
"Now Mr. Styles, I suggest you head to Principal Paulsen's office immediately ." She said.
I got up and lead myself out of the room feeling many pairs of eyes on me.
The hard part is that I had no idea where the principal's office was.
I'm pretty sure I knew where I was going; I didn't.
I must have been walking around for a while because I soon heard the lunch bell.
I could feel the hallways fill up and heard all the noises from students passing.
I was lost and stuffed in a loud crowded hallway and I couldn't see. To say I was frightened was an understatement.
I was hyperventilating , and before I knew it I felt the cold floor on my face.
"OMG! That stupid blind kid fell!" I heard someone screech.
"Harry! Harry! Are you alright?" I heard someone ask. I think it was Luke.
"Ms. Menzel he was hyperventilating, and then he fell down." I heard another voice say. But soon after that I stopped hearing all sound and was just in a rest.
When I woke up, I was confused.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Harry, you had an anxiety attack." Nurse Harnell said. I take it I was in the nurse's office.
"Liam's here to pick you up. He's just talking to Principal Paulsen quickly." she explained. I waited a bit until I heard Liam shuffle in the room and collect me.
When we were in the car I asked "What did Mr. Paulsen talk to you about?".
"He thinks I should sign you up for therapy for your anxiety and I agree wth him." Liam explained.
"Wait! What? Why?" I asked insanely confused.
"Harry, you passed out in the middle of a busy hallway, if no one saw you, you could've been easily hurt." He said.
I sighed.
This was how I was about to sign up for therapy.
School really is hell.
