Rachel's P.O.V.

I took a deep breath once I read the number on the door.

This was it.. My new room.

I used the small key I was given to open it.

As soon as I walked through the door I noticed the room was pretty spacey.

There was two beds - one in each corner.

There was a girl sitting on the one to the left.

"Hi" I gave her a wide smile.

She smiled back shyly.

"Hello" she said back quietly.

I flung my bags onto the empty bed.

"I'm Rachel" I offered her my hand.

She stood up quickly and grasped my hand in hers.

"I'm Megan" she told me.

I nodded.

So Megan was my new roommate.

"So, have you had a good look around campus yet?" I asked.

I noticed her stuff were all out of her bag and set up in the room so she must've been here a while.

She shook her head.

"No.. I haven't left the room yet actually" she replied.

I grinned widely.

"Great! Well let's go explore it now" I decided.

"Aren't you gonna unpack your stuff?" she asked, eyeing my bags laying on the bed.

I shrugged.

"I'll do that later. I wanna get a proper look around" I told her.

She agreed and we headed out onto the campus.

"So, what course are you taking?" I made small talk, glancing around the campus as we walked.

"I'm studying in Music and Theatre" she told me.

I smiled.

"That's so cool! I love music. I'd be dreadful at theatre though. I couldn't act for toffee" I admitted.

She giggled.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"I'm studying sign language. I've been doing it since I was little so I'm pretty much fluent but I have to take a two year course before I can legally qualify as an interpreter" I explained.

She seemed pretty surprised.

I guess it was a pretty unusual thing to be doing.

"You wanna eat?" I asked, noticing a café.

She nodded in agreement.

I could really do with a cup of tea.

We headed in to the café, which was surprisingly full.

We had to queue for what felt like forever before we finally got to the top of the line. We got our food and drinks on a tray and then wandered off to find a seat.

The place was insanely full.

"C;mon, we'll just sit here" I nodded to a table that three girls were sitting around.

Megans eyes widened.

"We can't do that!" she mumbled nervously.

I rolled my eyes.

"It'll be fine" I told her, marching over to the table.

"Hey. Do you mind if we sit here? The place is super full" I gave the girls a warm smile.

They seemed a little surprised but one of them nodded.

"Of course, no problem" she said.

"Thanks"
