Wow, that means a lot mom.
No One’s POV
“So, how long are you staying?” Laura finally asked the question that had been on her mind all day.
“I don’t know yet. I know that before we go back to New York, I want to take Harry on a roadtrip.” Carly answered before filling her mouth with a big bite of ice cream.
“Where to?” Chelsea asked louder than necessary.
“Down to L.A., San Diego and to see Taylor.” Carly mumbled still trying to eat the ice cream.
“That sounds nice.” Laura smiled knowing how much they missed each other.
“Can I get you anything else?” The pretty waitress asked with a polite smile.
“Just the check please.” Laura said quietly while Chelsea and Haelo messed with Carly about her table manners.
“Here you go ma’am.” The waitress set the check down and walked away.
Carly’s POV
“So, how do you feel about Harry? Be honest.” I asked my mom while we sat on the couch in our pajamas.
“I like him. He’s nice and I can see that he makes you happy.” She looked down at her tea and played with the spoon.
“Wow, that means a lot mom.” Hearing her say that made my tummy flutter because she approved.
“I’m just glad you're happy honey.” Her eyes landed on me again. “You have no clue how long I've waited for you to find someone who treats you right. After your last few boyfriends, I didn't know how much longer it would take.”
“Wow, thanks for your optimism mom.” Attitude rang in my voice while I rolled my eyes.
“You know what I mean Carly. I love you.” She set her drink down and grabbed my hands.
“I love you too mommy.” I looked up at her. “I’ve missed you so much, I’m so happy to be back.”
“I’ve missed you too, I cant believe you live in New York with your boyfriend and Eleanor and you're a model. I really am proud of you.” Her words made my eyes water.
I couldn’t say anything in fear that I would cry so I just leaned over and hugged her. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed my forehead softly. When we pulled back, a single tear slid down her cheek and she looked into my eyes.
“I’m tired but I love you. I’m gonna go to bed, okay sweetie?” She yawned.
“Okay, good night mommy.” I kissed her cheek before she stood up and walked to her room.
Harry’s POV
“Hey babe.” Carly smiled climbing into the car.
“How was work?” I mumbled waiting for her to close the door so we could go.
“Good, we just went over tonight’s event. So…Harry…will you be my date tonight?” She asked shyly after she was buckled and we were moving.
“What’s in it for me?” I teased pulling to a stop at a red light.
“A night out with me and Dani.” She reached over and entwined our fingers. “Fine, I’ll even hold the door open for you and I’ll hold your hand in public.”
“Aww you're so romantic.” I rolled my eyes.
“You can see me model?” She pleaded.
“That’s all you needed to say, I’m all yours.” I winked at her as I put the car in park in front of her mom’s house.
We got out and walked to the door, hand in hand. Carly opened the door and stepped in before I closed the door.
“Mom, we’re home!” She called walking to the kitchen. “Oh, they’re out.”
She handed me a note saying they were grocery shopping and wont be back for a while. I gave it back to her and leaned against the counter while Carly looked through the fridge.
“What time do we have to be ready?” I looked down at my phone.
“The event starts at 5:30 but we need to be there by 4:30.” She mumbled in defeat. Closing the fridge, she walked over and sat on the counter next to me. “Tonight is ‘rebel’ themed so be ready to see me in intense makeup.”
“Okay.” I looked at her and then looked away. “Can we go out to dinner tomorrow night?”
“Sure.” She set her hand on mine. “Well, I’m gonna go take a shower so we can be there by 4:30.”
