Tearing Me Apart *On Hold*

Zayn’s POV

“What are you doing back from London?” My mom asked. I wiped away the tears. Everything happened so fast. I never expected to run out on everybody, and I never expected to be back with my mom, begging her to let me stay here for a week.

“Stress.” I said. “And Perrie’s being really mean. She isn’t the girl I fell in love with anymore.”

“What do you mean?” My mom asked. “What did she do?”

My hands wiped away my tears that kept falling. How can I say this without being obvious that I don’t like anybody else? “She keeps being mean to Kaitlynn. She hates Kaitlynn because she’s my best friend. It’s like I can’t have any friends.I let her hang out with her friends. What would you do if you were in this situation?”

She looked at me, her eyes soften a little bit. “If I were you, I’d think it’s best to break off the engagement. You want somebody who is going to be there for you. I knew you should have been with-” She stopped herself.

“Who?” I questioned, more in curiosity than anything else.

“I’ll tell you later. Is there anything else you want to get off your chest?” She asked.

“There’s actually is one more thing.” She looked at me and nodded for me to go on. “I kissed Kaitlynn the other day when we were hanging out. I didn’t mean to. She was upset and I didn’t know what was wrong with her. I don’t feel bad about it.”

My mom smiled and walked out of the living room. Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with my mom. She freaks out every time she hears something about me and Kaitlynn being together. It’s nothing new that we’re friends. But why freak out all the time? It’s not the first time I kissed her, but my mom doesn’t know about the other times. My phone buzzed and I got a text from Perrie.

From: Perrie
To: Zayn
I miss you so much. Where are you?

I don’t text back because it’ll only make me even more angrier. She needed to understand I’m not going to take her back just because she says she misses me and she definitely doesn’t need to know where I’m at. Perrie will be a stalker and never leave. She did that the last time I ran off to get some air. My phone started ringing. I picked it up without looking at who it was.

“Hello.” I said.

“Zayn, I need you to be in my office tomorrow. We need to talk to you about something.” It was somebody from management.

“You can tell me right now. I’m listening.” I replied. What could they want with me now? I don’t want to do anything for publicity. That’s all they ever want from me.

“Alright. We don’t want you to marry Perrie. We were just looking at the ratings and everything is going down. If you get married to her, more than likely she will bring everything down and it would hurt One Direction. So what do you want to do?” He asked.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. They didn’t want me to get married to Perrie. They were basically saving my life from something horrible. But there also was a catch to it.

“What’s the catch?” I asked.

“It seems like everybody likes your relationship with Kaitlynn. They want you to date your best friend.” They replied. There’s the catch. They want me to date Kaitlynn for publicity.

“So what if I do this and make it real and not publicity? And she’s still dating Justin. What about him?” I asked.

“Got that taken care of.” Then, it’s all up to me. What do I say?

“Alright. I’ll do it.” I replied. The phone line went dead.





Justin’s POV

“Justin, you are going on tour in a couple of weeks,” Scooter told me. I looked into his dark brown eyes. He knew I couldn’t go on tour. That would mean leaving Kaitlynn behind here.

“I can’t do that. What about Kaitlynn?” I protested. “You know I won’t leave her behind.”

Scooter sighed and put his hands on his brown wooden desk. “I know. Here’s the thing. You will be touring with Selena. That romance you guys once had, you have to live it all while you're on tour. We’re going to need you to break up with Kaitlynn.”

Tears were coming down my face and I didn’t make no effort to get rid of them. How could he expect me to break up with Kaitlynn and just go with Selena all of a sudden? I don’t want Kaitlynn getting hurt through all of this. The door opens and in walks Selena.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, standing up in a defensive stand. “I know it was you who suggested this.”

She looked at me like I was crazy. “Justin, please do not deny the love you feel for me. Scooter, as well as I, both know that you don’t like Kaitlynn as much as you like me.”

I looked over at Scooter, who looked down at the floor. It was two against one and I can easily see that I wasn’t winning this one. I sat down and putting my hands to my face. This was the worst feeling I ever had. The despair in the air and having my ex coming in wearing one of my favorite outfits claiming that I don’t love Kaitlynn.

“What if I say yes? What if she gets hurt because of me?” I asked.

“Tough luck.” Selena said.

I rolled my eyes. This was really annoying. Nothing was going right. Kaitlynn and I haven’t even made it a month in our relationship. She’s happy. I can tell because she’s always smiling and jumpy around me. There was never a moment where she was upset or down unless she just came back from seeing Perrie. I looked up at Selena and smiled. I grabbed her hand.

“Fine. I’ll do it.” I said.
