Ordinary Girl

She stared, slightly shocked as Liam came in.

“Hey, I just, uh, came to check on you”

Juliet raised an eyebrow

“You know, your head.”

“Oh” she forced a laugh and touched the bump on her head. “It’s not nearly as bad as it was.”

“I’m glad.” He smiled “I am really sorry that we crashed into you.”

“No it’s fine.”

“But still, I feel awful. Can we make it up to you?”

“Um, we?”

“Yeah. The whole band. Actually, we were going to go out to dinner tonight. Just us guys, but would you want to join us?”

Her eyes widened softly. Going out with world famous celebrities? This was definitely the opposite of keeping under the radar.

“Well, I’m pretty sure it would kill all your fans if I was seen with you all.” She chuckled and sat on the edge of her bed

He shrugged “Well, then they just have to deal with it.” He laughed “Besides, now that we’re going to be staying here for a while, we have found a loophole for avoiding the press.”

Juliet laughed “I bet it’s hard.”

He nodded “So will you come?”

She sighed softly “Alright, alright you got me.”

“Great.” He stood up and walked to the door.

“Wait can I bring a friend? You don’t have to worry about her going crazy cause she’s not the boy band type.”

“Sure, you know that club across the street?”

“The one with that fancy sign out front?”

“Yeah. Meet us there about 7pm?”

“Alright.”

He smiled and left, shutting the door closed behind him.

Crap! She was totally screwed. She was going out to a club! Not only would that definitely get her noticed, but she had nothing to wear.

Panicked, she reached for her phone and dialed a number, pressing the phone to her ear “Hey. I really need your help. Can you possibly come over?”

“Sure!” The voice replied “I’ll leave a work a little early.”

“Can you also bring some dresses that I can borrow? I’ll explain everything when you get here.”

“Of course.” She hung up.

Juliet set the phone down and ran a hand through her hair, trying to make sense of everything that happened.

About half an hour later, she heard a knock at the door. She ran to open it, hugging Zoey “Thank goodness you’re here.”

“Of course girl. We only met a few hours ago, but we’re friends for life.” She jumped on Juliet’s bed. “So what’s up?”

“Promise not to tell anyone?”

“Of course, is it a boy?”

“Well, 5 actually.”

Zoey widened her eyes “Girl, that’s a hot damn mess.”

“No, no it’s not what you think.” She looked around then sat right next to Juliet, leaning in to whisper in her ear. “It’s the boy band One Direction.”

Zoey covered her mouth and whispered “What?”

“Yeah.” Juliet shrugged “Apparently they’re staying in the same hotel as me. Anyway, they invited me out and I’m bringing you.”

Zoey giggled and clapped happily, hugging her “Wow, thank god I brought a few dresses.”

The girls giggled and walked over to the dresses, starting to go through them.

Juliet laughed as Zoey finished her hair “Wow, you really made it look incredible.”

Zoey held her hands up defensively “Duh.” She laughed

Juliet glanced at the clock “Wow. It’s already 6:45 Zoey.” She grabbed her purse and looked at her “We should get down there.”

Zoey nodded and grabbed her purse “Alright.” She playfully slapped Juliet’s bum as they left the door.

“You’re such a dork.”

“Sure, but you know you love me.”

Juliet rolled her eyes “I do.”

They laughed and walked into the club. It was bright and loud. Lots of people grinding against each other as strobe lights panned across the room. It was very bright, not at all like Juliet was used to.

Zoey scanned the club then tapped on her shoulder “Hey, isn’t that them?” She pointed across the club to some guys at the bar

It was hard to see, but she easily recognized Niall’s platinum blonde hair. “I think so.”

They started walking towards them. As they approached them, she noticed their faces. She could see the fan girl appeal, sort of. Niall was smiling, Liam doing his shy smirk. Louis was laughing with Zayn, Harry was, what was he doing? Licking his lips?

Liam walked over to the girls and smiled at them. “Juliet I’m glad you could make it.” He turned to Zoey and smiled “And you are?”

“Zoey.” She waved

“Liam smiled “Nice to meet you.” He turned to the boys. “Boys, this is Juliet and Zoey.” The boys waved as the girls sat down.

They all ordered drinks and started talking. There was a little awkward tension at first but then eventually, they started having a good time.

Liam checked his watch and yawned “Well, I have to go to bed, it’s getting late.”

Louis groaned “Come on lad.”

“Yeah, stay a little longer.” Zoey pleaded.

Liam shook his head “I’ll see you all later.” He grabbed his coat and left the bar.

Zoey stuck out her tongue “Lame.” She laughed.

Juliet yawned, covering her mouth with her hand “Sorry.”

Niall raised an eyebrow “You alright?”

Juliet nodded “Um, yeah.” She looked at the back door “I’m just going to get some air.” She walked towards the door and outside.

It was a little chilly in the alley, not too bad. The moon shined down on her as she leaned against the wall, taking in slow deep breaths. It was nice to get a little fresh air.

As she tried to relax, she heard a twig snap behind her, causing her to turn around. It was dark and hard to see. “Hello? Is anyone there?”

Her heart was pumping. She was definitely scared. She didn’t know who was out there and didn’t want to stick around to find out.

As she headed towards the door, a tall guy came out of nowhere, pinning her to the alley wall.

“Well, aren’t you pretty?” he held a knife to her throat.

She whimpered “Please, sir, let me go.”

He chuckled “Oh, no. So you can run off and tell the police?”

“I won’t tell anyone.” A tear fell down her face “I swear.”

“You’re right. You won’t, you little tramp.” He placed a hand on her hip, raising it up to her breast, squeezing it roughly “You’re not going to tell a soul.”

Juliet looked up at the stars as he unzipped his jeans. Why her? She didn’t do anything wrong.

“Oh, and don’t think about calling for help.” He smirked “Or I’ll slit your throat.” He went underneath her dress, pulling down her thong.

Juliet bit her lip, tears pouring down her face. Would anyone help her?
