Perfect Closure

Emily POV:

"Can I have this dance" I set my drink and clutch on the bar and turned to see Harry, I weighed up the options. Ignore him and have everyone ask questions or dance with him and ruin my make-up. Which I redid for the eighth time that day. I looked around then up at the speakers as the DJ announced the next dance "Ladies and Gentlemen this is for Emily and Harry" I quickly ran to the DJ booth, took the mic then laughed nervously and corrected him "No... This dance is for Harry and Kendall"

I gave the mic back then walked back to the bar sending Harry a nasty glare. We weren't dating anymore and this certainly wasn't our wedding. I sat down and stared ahead of me miserably as Christina Perri A Thousand Years Part 2 played over the speaker then I turned around and watched as Harry and Kendall danced together "I bet you'll dance with me though" I turned to see Harry's friend Ed and sniffled drying my eyes "I'll sit this one out... But thanks Ed"

As soon as the song ended another started. I knew which song this was. It was "They Don't Know About Us" I swayed in my seat ignoring the lads on the stage as they sang, I could feel everyone's eyes on me, or mainly the people who knew about me and Harry. It seemed that Kendall's family were completely oblivious, why did they have to sing my favourite song. I jumped as Louis walked up to me singing his Solo and I mentally panicked trying to find the quickest exit.

I faked a smile as I exited the reception hall to the balcony, I wanted people to believe I was fine even if my heart was breaking.

Harry POV:

I followed Emily out of the reception hall and out on to the balcony "You refused to dance with me... Why?" She held her clutch bag to her chest and shrugged then kicked a stone by her foot "Didn't want to cry and ruin your shirt" I stepped towards her and she shied away. This wasn't Emily, she was never one to ignore me or avoid me "I'm glad you came today Ems. I actually have something for you, come with me?" I held my hand out towards her then smiled as she took it willingly. All day long I wanted to touch her, even if only for a split second.

"You know you really shouldn't have gotten me a surprise. It's not our wedding" She tried to sound like it wasn't bothering her, like we never happened but I could tell she was fighting tears "It's just a little thank you for being here with me today. I wanted to dance with you, but away from all those people" I led her up to the bandstand taking her clutch and laying it next to my docking station then I started Christina Perri A Thousand Years Part 2 and gave her hand a gentle tug so our chests made contact

"Harry, about last night" I smiled and whispered "Don't think anything of it, if anything happens you can always come to me. I'll always help" She inhaled a breath then placed her head on my chest as we danced in silence. The song soon ended and she pulled herself away from my body, I let her go somewhat reluctantly then pulled a box out of my pocket "Keys for an apartment for you. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully furnished and brand new. Please... Take it, Paul will drop you off there, all your clothes are there waiting and ready for you as are your cd's, dvd's and toiletries and what not" Her smile faltered a little as she took the keys. But she managed to cover it up "That's awfully generous of you, I'm glad we can remain friends"

I smiled nodding my head but on the inside my heart was breaking. I just hoped that someday I could get her back
