Unrequited Love
Chapter 1
The hallway was crowded with busy teenagers walking up and down the corridor to get to their class rooms before the bell rang. Faye Blacktower, a new girl to the school, walked towards the main office to ask for help, since she was too scared, too shy, to ask for directions.
"Umm, hi, can you tell me where classroom 7D is?", she asked in a tiny voice. The lady in the front looked up from what she was doing. 'Mrs. Willis', her name tag read. The lady sighed and reached for a folder and took out a piece of paper that seemed to be a map of the school and gave it to her.
"Classroom 7D is all the way to the back of the building right next to Home Ec. There is a sign there that is impossible to miss. But you better hurry, class starts in 3 minutes.", the lady said.
Faye thanked her and grabbed the paper. On the way out, she bumped into someone, making the things in her arms fall into the floor. She dropped down to pick up her things. The person that bumped into her, a boy, crouched down and helped her pick up her things.
"Thank you", she said as she looked at him.
The boy smiled at her. "No problem", he said and walked away.
Faye walked towards the back of the school. The school was bigger than she thought it would be. She got a bit lost along the way, but managed to find the class room.
7D it read. She stared at the door for a minute before deciding what to do. She opened the door to the class room. When she stepped in, everyone gave her a weird look.
"You're late," the teacher said. "But you wouldn't know that because you seem to be new around. I'm Mr. Arden. World history teacher, and your name is?", he asked.
"Faye", she said in the quietest voice ever.
"We can't hear you", a kid in the back said.
"Shut your pie hole Javen", he yelled at the kid. "Now, say your name again."
"Faye", she spoke more loudly.
"Well, welcome Faye. Where are you from?", he asked.
"Maine", she spoke more confident.
"Little far don't you think?", he said. She nodded.
"Why did your family moved all the way to California?", he asked. Faye just shrugged.
"You seem to be a bit shy huh. Tell you what, go sit in the back next to Cassandra, Cassandra raise your hand", he said. Faye looked back at the girl who was raising her hand. "And I'm going to stop interrogating you so you don't have to feel uncomfortable in front of everyone", he said.
"Okay", Faye answered and walked to the back and say down next to the girl, Cassandra.
The whole lesson was really confusing for her, but managed to catch on. Most of the time she was daydreaming about how it would be if she was back in Maine and how it would be like if her mother was still alive.
