Remember My Love
Too Much of A Loss
Niall's POV
"I love you." My voice cracked.
"I love you too," she said in her angelic voice, "but, who are you?"
I buried my face in my hands and cried. She stretched her arm out to touch my face and lifted my head. She gave me a small smile. A ray of sunshine, that smile of hers.
"Don't cry. It's ok." She gently brushed a tear away with her thumb.
We were in room 37, of course, at the Deltart Hospital. She lay in a bed and I pulled up a chair next to her. It was raining outside, and I knew how much she loved the rain, so I thought maybe it would cheer her up. I also thought it was raining on my daughters behalf. We lost her in the crash. Leyla was four months pregnant with Caitlin. We were going to name her Caitlin. I couldn't believe so much could be lost in such a short amount of time.
"Are you Jackson?" She broke the silence.
"I'm Niall. Your husband."
"Oh. Who's Jackson" It broke my heart to know that she didn't care to know more about me.
"Jackson is your best friend."
"Is that Jackson?" She pointed to Harry who was opening the door showing Jackson and her other best friend, Amy into the room.
"No, love. That's Harry."
"L-Leyla" Jackson ran over to the bed with teary eyes.
"My poor baby." I tensed up when she said baby. Amy slowly walked over two chairs for Jackson and herself. Amy was already crying before she walked in and her eyes were puffy and red.
"It's ok, Jackson." Leyla grabbed Amy's hand.
Jackson chuckles a bit. "I'm Jackson. That's Amy."
"Where Louis?" Amy looked at the door. She remembered him, but not me?! It made me kind of jealous.
Then like a movie scene, Louis ran in panting with his hair messier than usual and unbuttoned a little to low.
"Sorry, this nasty nurse was trying to get this." Louis ran his hands down his body. Which made Leyla giggle. So adorable.
"Angel" Louis hugged Leyla. "How are you feeling?"
"Good. Thanks Lou" He replied with a smile.
"All right everyone," Louis spoke up, "I think we should let Leyla get some rest."
We all said our goodbyes and I stood up to leave after kissing her forehead, when she grabbed my arm. I turned to look at her.
"Please stay." She looked terrified. I smiled and nodded laying down next to her. She scooted over and turned to face me laying her head on the pillow. I looked in her eyes. They were a beautiful green color. I played with her light brown hair and she didn't flinch or move away.
"Niall," she spoke quietly, "please help me remember who you are. I feel like I know so much about you and I feel like I love you so much, but I don't why or-"
"Shh... don't stress you're out. I love you more than anything in the world and I will do anything to get you love me again." I planted a kiss on her nose. She blushed. It was nice to know she still would when I kissed her nose.
I pulled her closer resting my chin on her head, falling asleep...
