Best of Luck
Chapter 1
Blaize’s P.O.V
I wake up and turn on my side unfazed by the number of people sleeping around the cabin. I slowly stand up regretting my action and slowly move to the cooler, kicking empty cans and bottles along the way. I grab a cold water and go through my bag and manage to find m aspirin. I look around outside to see more people sleep on the ground in sleeping bags or on someone else. I hear someone groan and look back to see Jacelyn getting up. I walk around the still smoking camp fire and find Cece lying on the ground cuddled up next to a half empty bottle of whiskey. I sit down next to her and attempt to pull the bottle out of her hands, after a few tries I finally get it out of her grasp and roll it away. Looking back down I shake her arm slightly, “Ce, you gotta get up, we need to get back.” I say softly. Rubbing her eyes she finally looks up at me, “How bad was I?” She asks with a long yawn following. “Not horrible, I didn’t see you do your usual routine.” I tell her simply.
“You were the one I remember getting pretty rough last night” Jacelyn speaks up as she walks over to us. “I remember.. Well I remember the first few hours at least.” I giggle at my comment and so so they. “Anyways I think we need to get these people up and find Gwynne.” Jacelyn tells us. Cece and I nod in agreement and stand up to search the rest of our drunken senior class. Last night I had my graduation party, and about now regret having it so close to the day I leave for London with the girls. We got the news from our parents that they’d let us go together 2 months before graduation, now only having another night before I thought it would make a perfect day to have the party. Wrong. I hadn’t even gotten a suitcase out to gather my clothes and now I was wondering around looking for Gwynne.
“Guys over here!” I hear Cece shout, walking back behind the cabin we see Gwynne cuddled up to her ex, James. Jace and I shoot each other a look and walk to Gwynne grabbing her by her arms and legs, slowly bringing her back around and into the cabin. The fact that James even showed last night bothered me, I told him he could come mainly because he was with Gwynne and after the stunt he pulled and didn’t want him to show. But of course he came as he pleased, as always. After we set Gwynne down we decided to pick up the trash from last night. I tried not to laugh at a few people who began to talk in their sleep. Finding the last empty bottle I toss it into the bag and turn around to find myself face to face with a still very drunk James. “The party over already?” he hissed, alcohol still present in his breath. “No surprise you’re still drunk, you better sober up before we sent you back to that hell hole of yours.” I say quite rudely. Turning around I see Gwynne is still sound asleep, that’s the only plus right about now, I begin walking over to put the bags into the trailer on the back of the gator to bring them back to the house.
I feel someone hand around my wrist and I’m sure of who it was, “Why you in such a hurry, Blaize? We had a good time last night.” He slurs, I free my arm from his grip and turn to face him. “I didn’t even know you were here last night and I wish I didn’t find you curled up next to my best friend, you had no right showing up here you pathetic piece of shit.” I say quite loudly, I see Cece and Jace coming over with angry expressions on their faces. “James stop your shit, no ones in the mood for it” Cece says annoyance present in her voice, throwing two other bags in the trailer and taking a place right next to me. “How about we just get one of the guys to drag his ass out?” Jacelyn hissed shoving passed James and tossing our overnight bags into the gater. I take in the question and quickly walk back to the cabin to grab on of the guys who are now awake and sober, Austin one of the guys I’ve known since middle school, “Austin I need your help, James is still drunk from last night and is being a complete ass, you don’t mind taking care of him?” I ask sweetly, nodding his head he walks out of the cabin instantly finding James. “Oh thank god, someone to relieve us from this douche.” Cece said, chuckling at the statement Austin grabs James and pulls him towards his car, “Austin, bud why are we leaving I was enjoying myself.” James mumbled. “James you’re going home and staying there, I’ll drive.” Austin says surprisingly calm. With that the truck starts and they leave within minutes. Now time to get everyone up.
**Hours later**
I had finally finished packing clothes and look for my phone and laptop charger, I search the outlets until I find the right one and see both next to each other. Hearing my phone go off I immediately check to see Cece flash across the screen.
Cece:
Gwynne’s over shes ready for the morning we still spending the night together?
Me:
Of course grab some snacks before you head over, I’ll call Jacelyn.
After replying I toss my phone aside and look for my scandals, deodorant, and signature blue converse. Grabbing some bracelets along with them I stick them into another back and gather anything else I may need, hoping I still have enough aspirin. After collecting the other small things and my carry on with a blanket and pillow packed tight, I go to my phone nor bothering with the numbers of twitter notifications, and shoot a message to Jacelyn letting her know shes in charge of movies for the night and that I’ll see her later. I can’t believe I get to go halfway around the world with my three best friends with me. It’s going to be a great way to spend a month in London, and who knows maybe catching a few concerts won’t hurt us either. It’s a nice coincidence that there’s going to be a music festival there the first week we’ll be there too. I can’t wait to see all the different things when we arrive, thank god we each have around $20,000, to spend on food, shopping and the sorts. I guess you could say we’re pretty set to be on our own for a month, saving and working double shifts for a few months advance sure pays off.
I look around my room and see how much of a mess it is. 7:23 the girls will be over around 8, I better get started if I want my room to not look like a pig pen.
