Liam and I hung out the entire day, telling one another about how our lives have emerged. I was so happy to know that my dearest pal has taken over his father’s company. He now runs the entire corporation of marketing, and he finally found a place to show his responsibility skills. Zayn and Perrie left after lunch, as my stepsister claimed that she was going back to work. I dared to ask, during the meal, about her career, and she wasn’t so happy to telltale it. It turns out that she is a working employee at Harvey Nichols; a saleswoman is her title. In some sort of way, I felt justice, since my larger intelligence made me more successful than her.
Once Liam left, I went upstairs to my old room. I dared to finally breathe out loudly, since I haven’t gotten the chance to do so from the moment I arrived. My mind blinked an imaginary light bulb, once I remembered the paper Zayn gave me. I opened my purse, where I kept it, and took the tiny square out:

“Remember where we used to always hang out? If you can recall, then meet me there at 4:00pm… I’ll be waiting.”

I scrunched my eyebrows together, rethinking of the college memories. Zayn and I used to enjoy being outdoors. He would, sometimes, come to the lecture hall I’m in; and claim me a fake alibi so I could leave. He was so intelligent, so full of life, and I admired him for the strength he had back then. We used to hop in a cab, and roam the streets of South Shields endlessly.
Zayn and I have a common liking, the liking for animals. We used to go to the mall, and spent countless hours in the pet shop… the pet shop! That’s it! I looked at the watch, and thanked the lord that it was still 3:00pm. I changed my clothes immediately, and applied on some new makeup shades. I smiled at my own reflection, clearly remembering how I never gave a care about the cosmetics land; but here I am now in a changed perception (http://www.polyvore.com/redish_gold/set?id=116982178&lid=3453986).
“Going somewhere, darling?” My stepfather noticed me passing by the living room. He and my mother are seated on the couches, as they both share their couple’s quality time. Will I ever have a future like my parents used to have, like my stepparents still have? I shake my head to step out of my wondering thoughts, and smile at him. “I’m just heading to the city mall. Would you like me to get anything on the way back, dad?”
Instead of my stepdad replying my stepmom does: “Oh Jan, darling. We are having a ladies’ gathering at 8:00pm for your sister’s wedding. It’s just going to be us, and the Malik women. I’m hosting a tiny tea party. Have you gotten a dress for such occasion?” Great! One torturing night for Janelle, coming right up! “Yes mum, don’t worry.” She nods in relief while I depart to the mall.
…At the Mall…
I pass through the familiar stores, smiling at the fact that nothing has changed. New people come and go, but the stores are still the same, just like I last recall them to be. Once I spot the pet shop, I enter with a smile. I smile because of the days I’ve spent here with Zayn. The things that we did together are never to be forgotten. They are written on these walls, by long lasting ink… ink that has grazed me mind with these memories.
