Janelle's POV:

“(She replies in polite disappointment) How could you ask me such question? Of course she may stay, as much as she wants. And don’t worry about the whole preparations for the wedding. I’ll let some employees send her the finest choices from the company.” I have to admit; it’s such a relief to know that she accepted; but what company and what choices?
“Do you mind me asking you a question, please?” She nods directly to my request, allowing me to ask. “What does it that you do for a career?” She shakes her head and then looks at Liam. “I suppose you haven’t told her about me, as much as you told me about her. (She jokes) You’ll be punished later, boy."
"(She then looks at me, as we share a laugh) I own a fashion line, darling. I’ve studied the business of fashion back in London, and once I got married to my departed husband, Pierre, we moved back to his hometown. He helped me so much in building my fashion line, and I owe it all to him. He died recently in a heart seizure, three years ago.”
I nod in respect for her recent loss, as I take a sip of my tea. “I’m sorry for you’re husband.” She nods in a thankful gesture, but I can clearly see the sadness in her eyes. She must have loved him so much, and losing him was a terrible reality for her.
... At Night…
Clara showed me around the house, and she gave me one of her endless guest rooms to stay. The room, just like the rest of the house’s interior, is very elegant. Liam promised his aunt to stay the night, and I couldn’t be happier to know that. The reason why, is because I don’t want to be alone. Don’t get me wrong, I love Clara and Suzy, but still I feel like being with a friend at this time.
My door receives a light knock, snapping me out of my thoughts. “Oh, hello.” I crotch down to the little girl’s height, and she blushes at me. “Mommy wants to see you.” I nod, stretching my hand to hold hers. “Let’s go, Suzy.” She laughs, while we walk together to the room nearby. “(I ask Suzy in a childish tone) Shall I knock before going in?” Suzy doesn’t respond, and all she does is twist the doorknob with her tiny hand.
“Oh, Janelle you’re still awake. (She smiles at her little daughter, who’s hugging my left leg) Suzy honey, did you knock on the door before telling Janelle to come here?” Suzy smiles, and grasps my leg tighter in a soft hug. I reach my arms, picking her up in them as I walk to where Clara stands, in front of her presumed closet. She stands there, looking at the closed cupboards.
“Darling, I have already informed my secretary to send our latest gowns tomorrow. We shall both pick one that suites you. (She takes her eyes off of the closed cupboards, and looks at mine) Do you know what a girl’s best friend is?”
I shake my head, not really knowing. She smiles, and responds by opening the first cupboard. My eyes reflect the shine of the material, and my lips part in a wide ‘o’ shape. “Diamonds. That’s the answer.”
She takes the velvet box out, bringing it closer to my face. “Pretty.” Suzy smiles widely, as we both stare at the expensive masterpiece. “My husband gave those to me on the day of our wedding… and I want you to wear them to your sister’s.” I shake my head immediately, clearly denying them. “I couldn’t. They belong to you to wear them, maybe Suzy when she grows up; but I can’t really this is too much. The earrings, ring, and the cuff are to die for; but I can't.”
