My Biggest Regret...

Waiting for the strike of Midnight

Penelope waited at the steps of the hotel entrance at exactly midnight. 10 minutes went by and no sign of Harry. Soon that 10 minutes became 20 minutes. A little wave of doubt crashed on Penelope. It didn't take long before that became 35 minutes late. Now that little wave of doubt was starting to become a tidal wave.
At 1 am Penelope gave up on Harry. A tear trickled down her cheek.

She got up from the steps and rushed up them as more tears started falling.

Through all of this Harry watched painfully from a building window in front of her hotel.
It's for the best. He thought.

Penelope laid in bed and thought about why she was crying, she felt like she'd known him for more than just hours, but she had to realize that wasn't realistic.

Morning came and she woke up hugging the extra pillow on her bed. She just wanted to bury her face in it and cry all day long. She still didn't understand why he didn't come? Didn't he like her?

There was a knock on at her door. She yelled "It's open!"
Victoria came in and saw her daughter still in bed. "Sweetie what are you doing in bed still?"
Penelope lifted her face to see her mom. Her view got blurred with tears which she tried to hold back, but it was no use.
"What happen?" Victoria asked concern. She sat next to her on her bed.
Penelope couldn't keep it in she spilled everything that happened from the time she met Harry.
She thought that would help her get over him, just talking about it but it made it worse. She actually started crying.
"Aww, Hon! A wise person once told me that if a guy wants to be with a girl, he will make it happen, no matter what." Victoria wiped a tear off of Penelope's face.
"What is that supposed to mean? He doesn't want to be with me?" Penelope's voice quivered.
"What?! No! What it means is that he'll be back if he can, right now though....maybe it isn't the right time?" Victoria suggested.

"Yeah, I guess that I should give him the benefit of doubt." Penelope sniffed.
"Alright, now go get ready! Today is your first photo-shot! " Victoria said cheerfully.
"Okay, mum! Thanks!" Penelope smiled and got out of bed.
