Something You Can't Have
$15.00 a condom
I stood at the counter, my fingers tapping on it. Them I saw them. Harry and Stacy.
“No, Harry stop! You're killing me!” Stacy whined, her face turning bright pink. Harry kept a grip on her hand and pulled her to the counter. Then I saw what they were buying. Condoms.
“Stace, stop. It’s fine.” Harry chuckled. Stacy closed her mouth when she realized that she knew me, and I was from school.
“Hey Stacy.” I said with a warm smile on my face. Stacy tugged on Harry shirts and Harry’s eyes got wide.
“You guys know each other?” He asked, glancing from me to her. She nodded.
“Wow, this must be embarrassing.” He laughed. His laugh. I could listen to it all day.
“Oh, condoms? You two plan on having fun tonight?” I said, louder than I needed to. But the point was to embarrass them. Or Stacy for that matter.
Harry’s cheeks got red and Stacy looked down at the floor. I swiped the condoms over the scanner once. Then, I smirked and did it again, and again. The prices went up. $3.00, $6.00, $9.00, $12.00, $15.00.
“Cash or credit?” I smirked. Harry handed me the credit card and I swiped it in the machine. I just charged Harry 5 times the price for one condom. In felt bad, but then I felt better. Stacy was embarrassed and that was the plan.
