Gone
Fifty
Niall looked just about as torn as I felt. I hated to admit it but I was on the verge of tears. My eyes were watery and my nose was prickly. I guess that was what happened what your Dad tells you that you can't see your boyfriend any more. He really sucked sometimes. It was lucky I had gone upstairs when I did because with the way things were heading, I would've ended up abusing him verbally. In other words, it wouldn't have ended well.
"I don't understand" He said under his breath.
He stood up and paced back and forth around the room as if he was trying to come up with an idea. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he should give up, that my Dad was a stubborn bastard. But unfortunately, that was the reality. Once his mind was made up, that was that.
"Makes two of us,"
I stared at the ground my bottom lip quivering. Oh God, I really hoped I wasn't going to cry.
I'd never cried in front of anyone before. And that's the way I wanted to keep it. It was awful and showed signs of weakness. Well, in my opinion anyway. Of course I'd broken down on several occasions...alone...with the door shut. But that was that and this was now. And I wasn't alone. I had to keep it together. Just while Niall was in my bedroom. I didn't want him to think any less of me. Not that I cared what he thought. But he viewed me in a certain way and I wanted that image to be maintained. So far Niall and I had seemed to be a perfect match and I was prepared to do whatever I could to convince my Dad of that.
Speaking of which, a few seconds later, we heard footsteps coming up the stairs. It was more than likely my father, come to kick Niall out of the house. We both panicked and sat as far away from each other as possible. Dad knocked on the door but didn't wait even a second before opening it.
"Out, now!" He screamed at me, pointing to the door.
Niall walked to the door and stopped when he got to my Dad.
"It's very nice to meet you Mr James. I'm Niall Horan. I apologise for intruding on your Saturday morning. I want you to know that I like your daughter very much. I care about her and just want her to be happy,"
Dad stared at Niall's outstretched hand with a scowl but eventually he shook it, slowly raising his eyebrows at me.
His weakness was definitely polite, well spoken young men with a firm gripped handshake. And Niall certainly played that role quite well.
"You kidnapped my daughter twice in one week but you know what? You seem like a nice chap so I'll make you a deal. You can see Kaia but you have to follow my rules. If you hurt her, I swear to God..."
I couldn't even begin to explain how overjoyed I was. It was explosive almost. The look on Niall's face was priceless.
:Thank you sir, you won't regret this,"
He flashed my Dad a broad grin that stretched from ear to ear across his perfect face.
"You'd better hope not,"
