Gone
Thirty-Five
"I know you don't believe me...but it's true," he added.
I rolled my eyes and rolled onto my back again to face the ceiling. He stood over me but I didn't take any notice and stared straight past him like he wasn't even there. I could tell he was waiting for me to speak. What was there to say though?
"I am really sorry...for everything," he said.
Yeah, right. Since when? He wasn't sorry when he admitted I was only there as his source of 'pleasure', he wasn't sorry when he lied to me, and he definitely wasn't sorry now.
I didn't say that though, there was no point. I knew how he would react.
"It wasn't my fault though," he continued.
There's the Josh I knew and hated. He hadn't changed. Not even in the slightest.
"Get out of my room Josh,"
I finally spoke, my voice crisp. I still hadn't let my eyes wander.
Out of the corner of my eye I could see the frustration on his face but nonetheless he left silently, shutting the door on his way out.
Less than an hour later, there was a faint tapping noise on my window. I ignored it and told myself that it was all in my head.
"Kaia!"
I frowned. That's odd, I thought, I swear I just heard my name. When it happened for a second time, I hesitantly peered over the edge of the window, not sure what to expect. As soon as I saw him, my frown turned upside down. Niall gazed up at me with a huge grin on his face, his hand full of pebbles. I felt as though I was starring in a teen romance movie or something. It was so sweet that he came back, but what was he doing here?
"You're probably wondering why I'm here," he said, trying not to speak too loudly in case my parents heard him.
I nodded, shielding my face with my hand so the sun wasn't in my eyes.
"You forgot your phone,"
He held up my yellow and white Huawei.
"Ohhh thank you! I didn't even know I lost it. I'll be right down,"
I rushed down the stairs and out the front door as quickly and quietly as my long lanky legs could carry me.
I plucked it from his hand with an awkward smile. As I walked away, he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him, wrapping his arm around my waist. He went in for a peck on the cheek but I went for a snog so we bumped heads.
"I'll see you later Kaia," he chuckled at the mortified expression on my face.
I giggled uncontrollably, covering my face with my hands. That was so nice of him to just drop by with my phone. I mean, he was throwing pebbles at my window for god sakes! That only happens in movies. The only difference was that this was the real deal, the full package and I was going to make the most of it.
