Got a Secret?
What've you got?
**VERY EXPLANATIVE AUTHORS NOTE AT THE END! PLEASE READ SO THE CHAPTER MAKES MORE SENSE!!!**
Courtney’s POV
“So what do you have Court?” Luke asked after he retrieved his schedule from the podium.
“Uhhhhmmmmm… well….” Something you should know about our schedules is that it’s in 1 hour and a half increments. It is also on a three day cycle, A, B, C. We have classes every day of the week except on the weekends every class is cut in thirdish so that the entire afternoon is open for free time with a later lunch and you get to sleep in. An Example:
Weekday
Breakfast: Anywhere between 7:30-8:15
First Period: 8:25-9:55
Second Period: 10:05-11:35
Third Period (First Half): 11:45-12:15
Lunch: 12:25-1:20
Third Period (Second Half): 1:30-3:00
Fourth Period: 3:10-4:40
Fifth Period 4:50-6:20
Free Time: 6:20-7:15
Hall Meeting: 7:20-7:30
Dinner: 7:40-9:00
Free time until you choose to go to bed, however if you are out you have to be back by 1 am or else you will be locked out.
Weekend
Breakfast: Anywhere between 9:00-9:45
First Period: 9:50-10:20
Second Period: 10:25-10:55
Third Period: 11:00-11:30
Fourth Period: 11:35-12:05
Fifth Period: 12:10-12:40
After Fifth Period, you are released to do whatever you want on or off campus until 7 pm. You can have lunch off campus or in the dining hall, but you have to notify the kitchen staff if you are so they don’t over cook. You can sleep, do homework, participate in a club… etc.
And the cycle starts again but with different classes.
The way the three day cycle work is below:
Say it is the month of April Monday is April 1st. The 1st would be an A day, 2nd B day, 3rd C day, 4TH A DAY (it repeats.) and so on and so forth. However at the start of each month it starts back at A day.
“So what do you have Court?” Luke asked after he retrieved his schedule from the podium.
“Uhhhhmmmmm… well….” I started to say… “I have alot of the same which is nice. The only different thing is actually self-defense. I didn’t even know there was self defense here?.” I said slightly confused. I mean there isn’t that I’ve heard of. And it says it’s a double class period. Ew.
“Courtney, I don’t care just tell me your sched.” He said back. Well fine then Mr. Sass.
“A-day I have History, Science, Home-Ec, Self-Defense. B-day I have Crew, Maths, English, Volleyball, Languages. C-day I have Self Defense, Arts, Workout Practice, Field Trip. How bout you?”
“A day I have Math, Language, Home-Ec, Self-Defense. B day I have Basketball, English, Languages, Science, Field Trip. C day I have Self-Defense, Workout Practice, Arts, Soccer, History. So we are in Self-Defense and Home-Ec together. Fun!” He said less than enthusiastically.
“You don’t need to sound so disappointed.” I said pinching his cheeks before walking off to find out everyone else’s schedules.
Notes
Ok I am sorry about the short chapter and that I haven’t updated in forever. I just needed to get this chapter out of the way. The next chapter I update will be just of schedules and such but at the same time I will update a longer chapter… OK? Good now for the important stuff.
-Math, Science, English, and History are easy classes to understand.
-Home-Ec is necessary because not only does it teach Home Economics but it also teaches how a super should act around the house. Hopefully if you are married to a super and aren’t one or vice versa your partner knows what you are but for the sake of meeting them you need to understand power control and how to make sure that if you do use your powers no one sees.
-Each student picks two sports to do and they are worked into the schedule one day of each cycle.
-Workout Practice is basically a period you spend in the school gym and you decide what you want to work on. It is encouraged you work on a weak skill in one of your sports but you are allowed to do whatever.
-Self-Defense is pretty self explanatory. No one has heard of it because the class was added last term and only one class took it to see if they like it and have it put in. They were sworn to secrecy. However in Self-Defense you also have a Health class intertwined here and there.
-Languages is NOT divided up by the language you choose. The teacher has the Omnilingualism power therefore when you get to class you pick your language, or continue a language and study it on your own via DUOLINGO for the computer. The teacher will help you as needed. Currently Courtney and Casey study German. Luke-Russian. Michael, Greyson and Calum-Finnish. Ashton-Irish Gaelic.
-Field Trip periods. They are always at the end of a cycle as they can last into free time. If a teacher decides the class needs to go somewhere (ie. Self-Defense, maybe an open field with more space. Science maybe a DNA lab) If the teacher decides the class needs to go somewhere at the beginning of the period you have 25 minutes to dress accordingly after learning the location. The teacher takes attendance and fills out a form with the location, expected time period, and students coming. The teacher drops it off at the front desk where the class will meet him/her. The teacher plan ahead of time who gets who and you all go as a school versus a grade. For example the self-defense teacher wants to take you on a self defense field trip. While the Self-Defense class has two grade in it, whoever has a field trip period then goes on the trip. So if you are 17 and your Self-Defense class will hold roughly Juniors and Seniors. Whereas the Field Trip period might have Freshman, Juniors and Seniors.
-Lastly is Arts. Unlike languages you pick and art you would like for FOUR terms and that is the class you have. At your fourth term switch, everyone’s is different, you get a new arts.
Above I said everyone’s rotation is different… well the terms all stay the same but say Courtney is on her fourth term and an 18 year old comes to the school upon learning about his/her powers, that person will begin with a first term so when Courtney switches her fourth term, the newcomer will only be on his/her second term.
Also id the grades system. You come when you are 14. On your 14th birthday you pack up and are entered into an 8th grade class at the beginning of the nearest term. So roughly 14 years old is 8th grade. 15 is roughly 9th grade. 16 about 10th. 17 is about 11th. 18 is about seniors. This is where it gets complicated. If you were adopted you find out right on your 18th birthday and come then and will be entered as a senior. Now for 19+ years of age you have different names for the grade. 19 is roughly a freshman in college but they’re called Community. 20 is roughly a sophomore in college but they are called Urbans. 21 is roughly a college junior but they are called Travellers. 22 is pretty much a college senior and they are called Ivies. For example if someone asked you what grade a girl who is supposed to be a college senior you would reply “Oh she is in Ivy.” If is is a Junior you would say “She is in Traveller.” Sophomore… “She is in Urban.” Freshman “She is in Community.”
I know this is all slightly confusing but thats why I’m explaining it. If you have any questions about something I did or didn’t explain just comment or message me.
Ok sorry for this note, I think it’s longer than the actual chapter. Sorry and thanks for being such good sports!
Bye!
Omg!! I'm sorry for your
