My name is Courtney Hemmings and I am Luke’s older sister. I am 19 years old and I live in Australia. To begin with, let’s go through how one becomes a super. No it’s not by a radioactive spider or coming from a different planet. It’s genetics, like having blue eyes or brown hair. Say both of you grandparents on your mother’s side were full super, your mother will be full super. Now say your dad isn’t super at all, well first he comes from a dead line, second, you would be 50% super. You and all of your siblings would be equally super unless something were to happen to a parent and ya know adoption or remarriage happens. Anyway, if you have a super gene of less than 25% then you are not a classified super and you don’t get any powers. This is important because you will not be accepted into any of our boarding schools. In every continent there is a boarding school, the name’s can vary but they all follow the template (Assigned name of continent, Rivers Boarding School for the Special Needs.)

Yep, we are the special needs. And there is a school in Antarctica. The school there is for those in the arctic circle or northern places. I don’t get it either but…. Anyway, you start at the school at the age of 14. Because at the age of 15 you get your powers, in the first 5 seconds of summer. Literally June 21, 12:00.05 am, and at that time you get a surge of your powers. That’s where the band got their name. Yup, interesting how that works isn’t it. Calum, Michael and Ashton are all supers too. And all of us are 100% super, we come from a pure line. Your powers range on the percentage of super. 100% get powers that only 100% can get, but if you are 100% you can also get the powers that 75% can obtain. 75%, 50% & 25% can pretty much get the same powers, but there are certain powers that are more likely for you to get based on your percentage. Below you will find a list.

• Flying- Self explanatory
• Invisibility/Forcefield (comes together)- Self explanatory
• Immortality- Self explanatory
• Time Travel/Manipulation- Self explanatory
• Omnipotence- Like Immortality, nothing can harm you or those you protect, but you will eventually die of old age
• Elemental Control- Pretty self explanatory except you can literally shoot the elements out of your hands or do what you will with them
• Shapeshifting- But not in the way most think. If you are a 75% or higher shapeshifter you can change form of anything, become famous, super skinny, grow five inches.
• Mind Control/Telekinesis- Self explanatory, if you don’t know search Carrie Film
• Mind Manipulation- Control one’s body and mind

This is the majority of what we have to deal with. There are obviously many, many powers for us to obtain but these are the most common, and there are rarely other cases. Now before I said at 15 you are given your powers, well in cases where you are adopted, when you get your powers your parents know but can’t tell you about them until you turn 18, because they cannot protect you in anyway and only super parents know the school locations. This is what happened to 5sos. Obviously I started school but I was in Europe when Luke and I both started. Our dad had just gotten a job transfer and well it was just our luck that the European branch was located in Ireland. We moved when I was 13 but we lived in London, when I was 14 I was sent to the Camille Rivers Boarding School for the Special Needs. It was there that I met Niall. I sort of knew what to expect when my powers came along but I wasn’t sure what would happen because I didn’t know my power yet. When I met Niall at the CRBSSN I was ecstatic because he must have a power too, but He was under 25% as his dad was 25% and his mom was a dead-liner. Unfortunately for me I did not know this at the time of our relationships beginning. We dated until I was 16, but after I found my powers it was so much harder to keep them underwraps. When Luke came he tried to help me out once I realized Niall was not super but it was hard, and he broke it off because I was too distant. When I was 17 and Luke was 15, we headed back to Aussie for him to get his powers. We both started at the Samantha Rivers Boarding School for the Special Needs, when he met Michael and Calum. I had my power, Elemental Control, Luke was Mind Control. When we met Michael and Calum their powers were different. They were both 75%, Calum had Psionic Inundation and Michael had Cloning. Unlike most boarding schools, the Rivers chain holds you captive until you are 22, unless you have a job related reason to leave. Fast forward a year and Ashton is just learning about his abilities. He is shipped off here and he meets us, he is 50% and Omnilingualism. And they start their band 5sos. Of course I have dated on and off. I am in a steady relationship with 100%er Greyson Wolfram, and have been since about a year and halfish ago. And we are still going really strong so it all works out. I know Niall is in a band and I couldn’t care at all. I would never care for him again.
