Things I Hate
The Same Traits
So you're reading a story. Let's say, it's called, I don't know, "Heartbreak."
So you read the summary.
You fuckin' love it.
You're like:
And then you see the characters.
The main character's traits:
Bubbly, nice, funny, loud but can be a bitch when you mess with her friends.
S;DFKNRSENGSRE'[OING['OSEGRVNOR'BGT'[OTRN[OBYT[HBO[YTO'O[N
THOSE AREN'T THE ONLY TRAITS.
I understand, you want your character to be likable. But there are so much more likable traits. Please enjoy the following.
Genuine. Positive. Sincere. Open-minded. Friendly. Interesting. Trustworthy. Intelligent. Creative. Engaging. Diverse.
GOD. THERE ARE SO MANY.
I don't mind you write a character is bubbly or funny once in a while. Just - please. Stop me from tearing my hair out.
Notes
I don't mean any of this to be offensive; this is me raging against fanfiction. I do some of this stuff too, anyway. :p
yeah, sometimes when people do that when they're character is meant to be british and they are in England then this happens, these are some of the basics that everybody should know:
She handed him a dollar
WE USE POUNDS NOT DOLLARS
She or he asks for some soda
WE DO NOT USE THE WORD SODA (OR POP) ITS JUST A FIZZY DRINK, EITHER COKE, OR FANTA, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
She eat lots of cookies
ITS BISCUITS! UNLES YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT A CERTAIN TYPE OF BISCUIT
He asked her "Do you want to see some soccer?"
ITS FOOTBALL
Thats what I get frustrated about, when there character is meant to be from England ;(
PS I do know this first hand because I am british....
sorry about the small rant on you're comments :)
