Miss Masquerade
Ch. 2
Maria's POV
I kept my head down as I walked up Spencer's driveway. The sound of music and loud teenagers was audible from two streets away.
I knocked on the door, going knock knock knock-knock knock, like Spencer told me to when I arrived. She opened the door, the only way I know it was her because of her shoes. Which, actually, were her mother's.
"Hey, Maria," she whispered. "Liam, come over here!" She waved her boyfriend over. "This is one of my friends. You remember how I said to think of a 'cover name' so no one knows who you are," she reminded him.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Well, her's is 'Miss Masquerade'. She came up with it herself," Spencer said happily.
"Clever, I like it," Liam said with a satisfied look. I smiled. Liam was wearing a leather brown mask, and in all honesty, It looked like it was made from an old wallet by a nine year old.
"Thanks," I said. Spencer told me to go have some fun, while she and Liam greeted the guests, so I left them alone.
....
I was at the punch bowl, or whatever this stuff was, it looked like punch, or maybe coolaid. It wasn't alcohol, Spencer doesn't drink. A slow song came on, and everyone started slow dancing. I rolled my eyes, how cliche.
"Excuse me, miss? May I have a dance," someone said behind me.
