Miss Masquerade

Harry's POV

I felt bad about leaving Maria alone for my friends, but I knew they'd question it. I didn't want her to be hurt, but she was looking just fine while she was writing in that little notebook of hers. I wonder what she writes about in there.

Maria smiled a little while she was writing, making me think it could be a diary, or maybe she likes to write stories. Do girls do that?

"Harry!" I finally zoned back into reality, looking and seeing Cody Winston, the hottest girl on school, standing in front of me.

She was chewing her gum, and twirling her hair. "Hey Harry," Cody smirked. She was a little too close for my liking.

"Hi Cody, what's up," I asked nervously.

"I thought you and me could skip today and go somewhere," she said, attempting to be seductive. I mentally frowned at how I told Maria I would date her.

"Um..." I scratched the back of my neck, taking a step back. "How about the last two periods?" Cody scowled, then pinched her lips in a tight smile.

"Sure," she mumbled. She walked away, and after she was out of sight, a stole a glance at Maria.

She held my gaze for a minute, her eyebrows held in a surprised expression, then quickly returned to her book, scribbling something down.
