Miss Masquerade
Ch. 9
Harry's POV
I've watched that girl everyday for the past few weeks. She seems to always be listening to music, or writing in her notebook, or doing homework alone. She's a loner, I've noticed. She doesn't like friends.
I've tried to convince Spencer to tell me who Miss Masquerade is, but she refuses every time. I can't stand it, I'm going absolutely mad without knowing. I haven't slept in days, and I know it looks obvious.
One day I catch the girl looking at me. I smile, but she snaps her head back down and scribbles something into her notebook.
I sigh. She's probably not the girl. Miss Masquerade was confident, not shy. But... What if this shy girl is an act, and that girl over there, is really Miss Masquerade?
I suddenly can't take it anymore. I walk over to the girl, minding my stumbling, and stand in front of the girl. She snaps her notebook closed, setting it on the concrete wall she was sitting on.
"Hi," I say with a smile.
"Hello..."
"So, Miss Masquerade, remember me," I smirk at her. She looks confused.
"What? You mean those posters were from you? Who's Miss Masquerade, anyway?" The girl laughs. My smile drops, and I old my arms. I squint at her.
"So your middle name isn't Jocelyn," I state. Her face pales for a second, then she regains her complexion.
"What is this, twenty questions?"
"And you like to act, yes?" I walk in a circle around her, twirling a strand of her hair. I feel her shiver. "And you would like to do that for a living, no?"
Suddenly, the bell rings.
"Bye," the girl walks off after gathering her stuff, a smirk on her face.
