Paid To Be His Girlfriend
Favourites
Rachel's P.O.V.
I poured a glass of water quickly and hopped up on the counter.
I needed to get over him. Maybe if I just avoided him for a while..
"Rachel!"
My eyes flew to Louis who was now walking towards me.
"Are you okay? You took off there pretty quick" He seemed pretty concerned.
I gave him a weak smile.
"I just got a bit creeped out by the movie" I lied.
He frowned.
"The movie was over Rach" he replied, not seeming to believe me.
I just looked down, obviously not wanting to answer the question.
He seemed to understand and began rooting around at the fridge.
A minute later he was sitting next to me on the counter, holding a tub of ice cream and two spoons.
I raised an eyebrow slightly as he handed me one of the spoons.
"It's cookie dough. Your favourite" he told me.
Then seeing the look on my face he bit his lip.
"Cookie dough is your favourite.. Right?" he asked, momentarily worried.
I nodded, grinning slightly.
I was surprised he had remembered. I had mentioned it when we first met and I was getting to know the boys.
We ate in a comfortable silence for a few minutes before he spoke.
"So how are you? The fans can get pretty upset when we go out with people. Has the hate eased up?" he asked.
The hate.
That was the single most awful thing about being Harrys girlfriend.
Of course there was a huge number of fans who 'shipped' me and Harry as a couple and fully supported us. But there were also the not-so-supportive fans.
The fans that reminded me daily that I was ugly and fat and that I didn't deserve Harry.
In all honesty though it had eased up quite a lot from when I had originally become Harry's girlfriend.
It seemed the fans had kind of accepted the fact that Harry and I were a couple, even if they didnt support it.
I shrugged.
"It's gotten a lot better. Though there is of course there is still a lot of people who hate me" I told him.
He nodded, taking another spoon of ice cream.
"Just ignore them. It sounds incredibly cliche but they're just jealous" he told me, after swallowing the ice cream.
We sat there for another few minutes before deciding to head back in to the others.
As soon as we walked into the room, Harry, Liam and Megan went silent.
I frowned slightly.
"What's going on?" I asked.
Harry shrugged.
"Nothing. Just making small talk" he said casually.
I felt uneasy but shrugged and sat down anyways.
Pulling my phone out of my pocket I saw I had two unread messages.
One was from my mom. She really wanted to meet Harry. Of course I couldn't tell her that we weren't actually in a relationship so I had been avoiding seeing her. Thankfully she lived in Ireland so I could easily worm my way out of visiting.
The other was from management. Reminding that there was a meeting tomorrow and that I had to stay at Harrys again tonight.
I locked my phone again, shoving it back into my pocket.
"Harry, we should get going. We have a meeting with management early tomorrow morning" I told him.
He groaned slightly.
"Great" he mumbled.
He stood up, slowly and pulled me up off of the couch with one hand.
"See ya" Louis called as we started walking out of the room.
That set off a chorus of 'Bye's' from the others.
"Byyyyyeee!" I called back.
"We'll see you at the meeting tomorrow" Harry shouted in at them.
The other four boys would be there too. Even better.
Once in the car, I turned the radio on as usual.
"Are you staying over?" Harry asked, once we had pulled out of the driveway.
"Yeah, as long as that's okay" I replied.
He chuckled slightly.
"Of course it's okay" he told me.
I nodded and began humming along with the radio.
"What do you think they want to talk to us about tomorrow?" I asked after a minute.
I was genuinely curious. Modest! didn't like to waste time so it had to be important.
He shrugged.
"I have no idea. I hope it's nothing too bad though.. How much longer does your contract last for?" he asked.
I crossed my arms, smirking a little.
"Trying to get rid of me, are you?"
"Yes, I really can't stand you" he teased.
I narrowed my eyes at him for a minute before answering his question.
"About six months.." I told him, realising what a long time it was.
A lot can happen in six months. I knew that. It had only been six months since I had started dating Harry and my whole life had changed.
