New School

Rachel's P.O.V.

"I thought you said he was breaking up with her?" I asked Louis.

We were in his car now on the way to my house and I was at a loss as to what was going on.

"I thought he was!" Louis replied defensively.

I rolled my eyes. This was so typical Harry.

Once we pulled into my driveway I hopped out of the car and was surprised when Louis turned the engine off entirely.

"I wanna use your bathroom" he shrugged.

We made our way inside and as soon as we did I found a note on the coffee table.

I picked it up confused but sighed when I read it.

'Rachel,
I'm so sorry honey but I won't be home tonight.
I've been called in for extra shifts so I'll be working throughout the night.
Feel free to invite Kayleigh or someone over though so you'll have some company.
I'll see you some time tomorrow.

"Great" I mumbled, tossing the note back on the coffee table.

"What is it?" Louis asked, peering over my shoulder looking for the note.

"Nothing, dont worry about it. Just go to the bathroom" I told him, casually.

He picked the note up quickly though and read it.

"Guess I'm staying the night" he said matter-of-factly, handing me back the note.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm hardly gonna let you stay here alone at night" he continued as if it should be obvious.

"Yes, yes. I'll just have to run to my place and get some stuff" he began mumbling to himself now as he headed off in the direction of the bathroom.

Once he was done in the bathroom, he drove to his house to pick up some of his stuff. That took less than 20 minutes.

"Do you want a cup of tea?" I called as soon as I heard the door open again.

"Sure" he replied, making his way into the kitchen.

I began working on the tea but felt my whole body freeze when his arms wrapped around my waist from behind, pulling my body closer to his.

He used to do it all the time when we were younger. Whenever I got upset or worried. It always made me feel better for some reason.

The contact of his skin with mine made me shiver slightly.

"What are you doing Louis?" I asked slowly, once I had caught my breath.

"Trying to calm you down. You've been stressing out all day" he murmured back.

He began humming a song that I didnt know. I loved when Louis sang for me. Even his hum made my heart melt.

I could feel myself getting more engrossed in him until I suddenly came to my senses.

What the hell was I doing?!

I was only making things harder for myself.

If i ever wanted to get over Louis I had to stop falling into traps like this.

I pulled out of his arms quickly.

I turned back to see his confused and somewhat hurt expression and flashed him a quick smile.

"Gotta finish making the tea" I shrugged.
