Chapter 1:Goodbye California
Skylar's pov
Today was the day. Today I’m leaving California to studying over in England. I’m staying with the Tomlinsons. They have two children. Their oldest is Louis and he is a Junior like me. He also has a younger sister. Her name is Daisy. She is 6 years old and is a gymnast/dancer. I used to be a gymnast and I almost made the US team but my dreams were shattered the day my knee shattered. Thats in the past now I thought.I’m leaving my family for 2 years and I’m going to miss them. Especially my twin brother Max. We tell each other everything. There's nothing to tell much about me though. Everyone in my family calls me a goodie goodie. I guess its kinda true though. I’m on the honor roll, have never drank, smoked, or done drugs, and I’m a virgin. My brother on the other hand, is popular, has many girlfriends, and is the quarterback for my now old school Colby High. I Grab my bags and look into my empty room. I had good times here but not all was good. As I close my door and walk down to the car I think about why I’m leaving. I've been bullied ever since middle school. My parents know and try to shield me from it but it couldn’t be helped. It got worse when I started high school. I was pushed shoved almost raped and it was all a living hell. Now with this student exchange program I can go to a different country where no one knows me and I can start fresh. When I get into the car I look back. “Goodbye,” I whispered to myself. My brother was driving me to the airport. When I got to the airport, I kissed my brother on the cheek.
“Hey… I’m gonna miss you Sky….but be careful with the guys and stay out of trouble,” he said.
“Right back at cha and do me a favor and don’t get any girls pregnant ,” I said with a smirk.
He didn’t say anything for a moment just winked but while he drove away he said “right back at ya...SIKE,” he said while waving.
He could be so annoying sometimes i thought.
Waiting for plan to load
While waiting for the plan to load i got coffee with french vanilla. I’m in love with the stuff. I really hope they have this stuff in the UK i heard they are really into tea there. Ugg tea so not my taste.
“ The United Kingdom plane is ready to load,” said a desk attendent.
“Exchange Students please head to the front of the line,” she said.
I picked up my suitcase and headed to the front. “Passport and ticket please,” said the gatekeeper. “Here,” I responded and headed to the plane. I knew there were other exchange students but i didn’t get a good look. While the planes takes off I hope that I can make friends and have a fresh start but also not to get caught up with bad boy punk know it alls with piercings and tattoos. I’m staying far away from those types but I won’t let anyone stomp all over me like the past 5 years. Nope Skyler Woods is going to be braver and stand up for herself. YES I AM.
