*1 month later*

Alayna’s POV:
“See ya, later!” Kacey and I walked home from the preparation of Jade’s event. “See ya.” It’s been a month since Jade poured everything she was holding in and I could still feel and see the effect of it.

“Jade, can I ask Harry to help me with the packages that just arrived?” I remembered the look Jade gave me and what broke my heart was that Harry gave me the same look. “I’m busy, you could ask Niall.”

I don’t know if Jade talked to him as well or what changed but ever since that night, Harry has been distant. He’s not that annoying guy anymore nor was my shoulder to cry on. Every single time we’d have a chance to talk, he’ll walk out on me.

“Alayna, it’s for the best.” I threw my bag on the sofa and threw myself on the bed. “Aaaah!!” I screamed at my pillow but my feelings didn’t get any better; I still felt very empty inside. When they say, you never know how much a person means to you until they're gone, they really mean it.

I know that I’ve only known Harry for about two months but for those whole two months, I’ve felt things that I’ve never felt before; I’ve felt confused, happy, miserable, overjoyed, all at the same time.

“Hey, Jade’s inviting us for a weekend at their cabin. Wanna come?” My phone buzzed and opened Niall’s text. I threw my phone away and thought that if I don’t reply then I wouldn’t be obliged to come or make another stupid excuse.

“It’s almost time to go home, Alayna. Then all of this would just be a mere memory.” I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes. My bed embraced me like a long-lost lover would give. It felt so great.

“Alayna! Alayna!” I heard Kacey’s voice and her hand pounding on the door. I held a pillow against my face and thought that if I pretended that I wasn’t here then she would stop. “Alayna! I know you’re there. I didn’t see you leave.”

“Go away! I’m busy!” I heard the knob turned. “I’m coming in!” I hate myself! I just remembered that I gave Kacey a key to my room two weeks ago so that if I’ll ever forget my key in my room then a spare would really come in hand.

“Kacey, you know that that key is for emergencies only.” I still had my eyes closed but I know that she was already in my room since I heard the door shut. “Yeah, I know. And this is one.” Kacey sat at the foot of my bed and shook my body.

“Did you receive Niall’s text? He said we’re going camping tonight.” I sat up and grunted. “No, I didn’t and no, we’re not. Well, I’m not.” Kacey shook me one more time. “We are! You know escaping your problems wouldn’t solve it. Now c’mon, let’s pack. Niall said he’ll pick us up in 3 hours.”

“Kacey, no! Every time I get dragged to anything that involves Jade and Harry, nothing good happens. So please, just leave me here to be.”

Harry’s POV:
“Are you sure you’re okay with Niall inviting Alayna?” Kacey looked at me while I had my eyes on the road. “Yeah, I am. You?” I took a glance at Jade and saw that she was deep in thought.

This past month has been really hard on us. I noticed that Jade has been treating Alayna more calmly but more bland as well. After my talk with Niall, I decided that I have to distant myself from Alayna but that also detached me from my relationship with Jade.

“I’ll just open the door. Are the others on their way?” I nodded and turned the car engine off. I went to the back of the cabin to set up the campfire. I noticed that Jade has been the same to me. Could we have both accepted the fact that this relationship is unsaveable?

“Hey, man. Need some help on that?” The boys arrived just on time. Zayn and Liam picked up some wood and Louis was helping me start the fire. “Are you all set up inside thought?” All of them nodded.

“Niall’s inside showing the girls their room. They’re on their way out, though.” Liam threw some wood into the fire that me and Louis just made and the fire grew bigger. It was just in time since the sun just went down.

“I brought some marshmallows!” Jade, Niall, Kacey and Alayna went out of the cabin and everyone sat around the campfire. “So, what do you all want to do?” Kacey looked so excited. Actually, it looks like she was the only one who was ecstatic about this.

“Ghost stories?” Liam spoke up and everyone shrugged. “Ooh, I’ve got something better!” Kacey clapped and everyone looked attentively at her. “Truth or Dare!” Kacey took a stick and waved it around. “Game, anyone?” Everyone nodded and was suddenly enthusiastic. Kacey spun the stick and it landed on Liam.

“Okay, dare!” Liam sat up straight and waited for someone to give him a dare. “Why don’t you..run around the vicinity of the cabin wearing only your underwear?” Liam stood up proudly and started stripping.

“Go Liam!!” Everybody started cheering and Liam started running and shouting. After a couple of minutes, Liam returned. “How was it, mate?” Liam was panting and everybody was laughing. “A little breezy!” Liam took his clothes and started putting it on.

“Liam, thank you so much for entertaining us.” Kacey took the stick and started doing another turn then another. The turns consisted of Zayn admitting that if he was a girl, he wouldn’t date any of us to Louis giving me a peck on the cheek.

“Let’s try another one!” Louis took the stick and spun it. “Alayna!” The stick landed on Alayna and everybody looked at her. “So what will it be then?” Louis asked Alayna and she began thinking. “Truth.” Louis brought out his ‘thinking face’ and we all know this is going to be something serious.

“I’ve got it!” Louis sat up straight and I saw Alayna gulp. “I’m ready.” Alayna nodded and looked at Louis. “Alayna, first off, don’t give me some safe answer, I want the truth!” Alayna gave another nod. “Who do you love?”
