Harry’s POV

“Ugh” Sage groaned from the bed.

I smiled to myself and stood up; walking over to my bag, I pulled out a bottle of headache medicine. She groaned again so I hurried and grabbed a drink before sitting on the edge of her bed.

“Sage” I whispered as she opened her eyes to a sliver. “Here, take these they’ll help your head.”

She sat up and took the medicine. I watched her plop back down on the bed with her eyes closed.

“Thanks Harry.” She smiled faintly.

“You’re welcome.” I mumbled kissing her forehead. “How’d you sleep?”

“Great until I woke up. How much did I drink last night? My head is pounding.” She complained quietly.

“Just a second.” I stood up and walked over to the open blinds, closing them made the room a lot darker.

I walked over to the counter where my coffee sat, I knew it would help her head so I brought it over to her and sat next to her. She opened her eyes again and smiled at me.

“You’re amazing but seriously, how much did I drink last night?” She sat up and drank the coffee.

“A lot, you kept up with Niall last night.” I watched her eyes widen. “I know, I shouldn’t have let you.”

“That’s why my head feels like someone just hit it with a hammer.” She laughed. “Are we going home today?”

“I don’t know, we need to get Niall up and get to the hospital soon.” I’d totally forgot about everything going on with Liam.

“Is he okay?” She threw the blankets back and stood up.

“He’s just fine. They wont tell us what happened over the phone so we need to hurry up and get over there.”


“He had Rohypnol in his system.” The nurse had remorse written all over her pale face as she spoke to us. “It was ingested probably by a drink he was given but he is stable now.”

“Is he okay enough to leave?” Stress was heavy in Louis’s shy voice.

“Yes, he is well enough to go as soon as he wakes up and the paperwork is filled out.” Her eyes wandered over all of us.

“I’ll fill it out.” Louis stood up from sitting on the bed next to Liam and walked toward her.

“I will too.” Harry shakily set his hand on Louis’s shoulder and followed them outside.

I watched them leave and let out a sigh. Looking down at Liam, I saw his chest rise and fall in an even beat that was calming. I need to just do this already, face my fear and do it. I looked up at Zayn and saw him looking down at Liam with worried eyes and then at Niall who was looking around the room.

“Hey Niall?” I broke the silence with a weak voice.

“Yea?” He asked looking at me.

“Can you give me and Zayn a few minutes to talk please?” His eyes shot over to Zayn and then back to me before he nodded and walked out of the room.

“Are you sure you want to talk about this right now?” He asked in a protective tone.

“We might as well.” I shrugged taking a deep breath.

“Sage, I love you.” He blurted out. “I have since freshman year and I don’t think I could live without you in my life. You have changed it so much that if you weren’t in it, it would fall apart. You are the most important thing in my life.”

“I-I love you too.” I stuttered trying to think. “Zayn, you know that you mean a lot to me but that crap the other night…Why didn’t you just say the truth?”

“Because I was drunk and he was drunk and it seemed like the better thing to do.” He shook his head and looked away. “But it’s obvious now that it wasn’t.”

“You're right, it wasn’t.” I snapped receiving a confused look. “Sorry, I just don’t know what to say.”

“Sage?” He stood up and walked toward me. “I’m so sorry for all of it, I wish I could take it back but I cant. All I can do is make it up to you if you let me.” He reached out his hand for me to grab. “Will you let me make it up to you?”

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to focus my thoughts: I love him and I need him too much to let him go. Sage, pull yourself together and forgive him. But what if he does it again? Then I’ll be a fool… I opened my eyes and looked at him.

“Yea.” I smiled and grabbed his hand as he pulled me in for a hug.

“Thank you Sage.” He whispered letting his lips touch my temple lightly.

“Don’t let me down again.” I mumbled leaning back.

“I wont.” He had that cocky smirk on his face but it faded. “Sage, does this mean we can be back together?”

What? How do I answer that? My heart and head need to have a serious talk because even I’m confused about what I want. I spent last night with Harry and the night before that with Niall.

“No…I need some time alone. Between my mom and Shawn situation and all of this, I need a break. I need a break from family and relationships besides friendships.” That was the best way to say how I felt. “Sorry.”

“I get it.” He looked upset but I knew that that was the best choice for both of us.

Rustling came from the bed and when I looked over I watched Liam’s brown eyes flutter open. He looked so peaceful, like a puppy after a nap.

“Hey.” I whispered walking over to him.

“Where am I?” He asked looking around.

“The hospital, you were drugged last night but you're okay now.” I grabbed his hand as I sat down next to him. “You can leave whenever you want.”

“Was I the only one? Where’s everyone else?” He looked at me with worried eyes.

“You were the only one, they're filling out the paperwork so you can leave here and come back home with us.” I turned around and saw all the boys walk back inside.

“But I don’t want to go home yet, I want to go out and do stuff.” He pouted looking at each of them before looking at me again. “Please Sage?”

I turned around and looked at them with question in my eyes. Harry did the same and received nods from everyone before looking at me again.

“We’ll stay for a few more days.” I mumbled watching his eyes brighten.

“Thanks guys.” He smiled looking around. “So, uh, when can I get out of this hospital gown and back into pants?”

“As soon as I leave the room.” I giggled leaning toward him to kiss his cheek. “I love you Lili.”

“I love you too Sage.” He kissed my cheek and watched me leave.
