Chapter 4

I walked onto the stage for rehearsal. I wasn't used to all the stage lights and make-up, but it was okay. This was my third full week away from home and i was so home-sick. I couldn't wait for the show. The whole home was coming to watch! Plus Lily had a backstage pass! We went over the group number so many times that I was so tired I went back to my dressing room and fell asleep.

"Maë! Wake up! time for hair and makeup!" Said a voice tapping me on the shoulder "LILY!" i yelled hugging her "I've missed you so much!" "Me too! Now come on!" I was soon dressed in long black dress with a cape, glittery gold on the outside and red on the inside, with a hood. I Had massive amounts of eyeliner on, stretching out in flowing lines all over my face. Just as I finished getting ready, there was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I said and 5 boys around my age came in. "Hello!" said one "we're the guest judges tonight!" I laughed "Hey Lily! Get over here." she groans, stands up, and looks over. "wha- oh heyyyyyy" she says, and I laugh so hard I almost cry.

Then I see the look on one of the guys faces as he looks at Lily. "Lets go backstage" I whisper to the other 4 guys and usher them out of the room. "We just came to wish you good luck but apparently Niall had other plans..." says one guy. "This may sound terrible, and i know you're one direction, But what are your names again" I say. "Im offended! also known as Louis!" says one "I'm horrified, also known as Harry!" "I'm Disgusted, also known as Zayn" "IM LEEEUUUUM!" "oh my god Liam you ruin everything" Harry, Zayn and Louis said in unison.

Backstage was much more nerve racking than auditions. The boys had left and Lily was nowhere to be seen, and i was starting to feel unprepared. Call me soon, call me soon, call me soon! I thought to myself. "Introducing Maë!!" I stepped onto the platform as it raised up to the stage. I was going by feel and did not bother to look at the audience. With my head looking at the floor the music started.

Taking the microphone from the stand I strut to the front of the stage where the smoke machines and fans blow my cape up to flap behind my head

Glitter and smoke are going everywhere and I start having do much fun I smile so wide and dance around the stage

I run to the back, and when I walk forward the backup dancers follow me and breakout into flips and crazy dancing while I raise one arm above my head
