Chapter two

I wake up at 6. This should be stressing me out but I didn't even know about this audition until yesterday! I'm pretty much always the calm going with the flow girl in Lily and my friendship. But at school, the whole marks and grades thing really gets under my skin, giving me the pet-name "Maë-rd" may and nerd together. Gosh I hate some girls at my school.

I slump into the shower, wash my hair, brush my teeth, shave, the whole shizbang. I go to my closet and pick out a long white lace shirt, brown boots, black leggings, and a sunset orange sweater. Lily knocks on the door, and I grab my necklace on the way out. I wear it everywhere. Its a tiny gold nugget from the old mines in cornwall. I love it because it just seems so natural, How i wish I was. I open the door and am greeted by a very tight hug. "MAE-MAË!!" screams Lily "IMSOEXITEDOMYGODWHATIFIACTUALLYMEETONEDIRECTION!" I laugh at her and we walk to the town hall, where there is a massive line of people already lined up. we join the queue and talk. "What are you going to sing? Should you warm up? Are you going to dance? are you going to talk about where you li-" I cut her off "I am so not gonna be one of those people that uses my disadvantages as a benefit in competitions! I want real votes not fake ones!"

we get to the front of the outdoor queue and are ushered into the reception. "Name?" "Maë" "Age?" "Fifteen" "Here's your tag go wait back stage." Lily is barely controlling her excitement. I see a girl get rejected and then they call "Next!" I walk onto stage smiling so wide. Any stage can make me smile. I'm one of those weird people who only get nervous in some places, like school. "Hello" says a guy from the desk. "what brings you here?" "My friend forced me to come because she wants to meet one direction" I laugh, then put my hand over my mouth. "I shouldn't of said that sorry!" I say, before bursting out with laughter again. "lets start!" says the judge. I remember the words to my song. I think its one everyone will like as its such a nice message.

As soon as i start to sing I forget about the whole judge on X factor thing. I'm not even thinking about the notes or the song. I'm lost in the song as if I am floating away to another universe. Then I hit the end and rocket into space. Its like a dream.

There is complete silence In the theatre and then all 4 judges stand up and clap me "Its like I was transferred to another world! It took me a second to recover! Its a yes!" says the first judge "yes" says the second "defiantly" says the third "YOU'RE GOING TO LONDON!" says the fourth! It takes me a moment to realise what they are saying. I am still lost in the song. Then I realise I'm through to bootcamp. OHMYGOD!
