Dear Avery,
I know that it's been a while since I last talked to you and I know that what I did to you and your mother was wrong but that doesn’t mean that I still don’t want to see you or have you in my life, I would love it if we could catch up some time. I know that Sienna and Charlie would love to meet you, just please think about it. I miss you.

Dad? How did he even get my number? Is this a joke someone's playing on me? After 8 years of no contact I get a text...one little text saying he only now wants to meet up with me? Saying that the woman he cheated with on my mum, the woman who broke my family wants to meet me? I don’t even know if I'm feeling anger, frustration or happy knowing that he hasn't forgotten me after all this time. What am I saying, I should be angry at him not happy! You don't just disappear for 8 years an expect everything to be alright with one little text message. Everybody deserves a second chance but I don’t feel like giving him that chance now.

"Mmmmm" I groan in bed with all of these questions running through my mind.

"You ok Avery?" Rose asks, sounding a little worried. I thought everyone would be asleep.

"Yeah I'm fine, sorry I woke you. Night." I tell her

"Ok, goodnight."

After a few minutes of tossing and turning I finally feel sleep over take me.

*Next Morning*

Knock, Knock, Knock

I roll over out of my bed and shuffle my feet along the floor, I didn’t exactly get the best night sleep but it was better than nothing. I make it to the door and open it to find one of the female camp leaders.

"Morning. I just came by to wake you guys up because it's the last day and we need all of your bags packed and ready to go, so that we can load them onto the bus this afternoon." She has a big smile on her face and is fully dressed in her work clothes.

"Oh ok, thanks." I say in my croaky morning voice. I shut the door and go to the light switch and turn on the lights making all the girls groan and bury their faces in the pillows.

"What the fuck was that for!" Mo screeches, I laugh at her and make my way over to her bed.

"We've got to get up and pack because it's the last day. So it's time to get up sleeping beauty." She waves her hand at me telling me to go

"Abbey-"

"I heard." She rumbles from under the pillows.

"Rose-"

"I'm up, I'm up" I turn around to see her climbing down the ladder of the bunk bed and grab her bag and start to pack the rest of her things. I do the same grabbing my bag from under my bed and filling it up with all of my clothes and other things I brought with me. Rose is sitting on the ground in front of me folding her clothes into her bag so she can fit everything in, but she stops what she's doing and looks at me.

"What?" I laugh.

"Are you going to tell me what happened last night or do I have to guess?" I don’t know what to say to her, I open my mouth to speak but nothing comes out. I probably look like a fish out of water.

"It's ok, you don't have to tell me…I just wanted to make sure everything was fine."

I breath out feeling relived that I don’t have to explain the long story to her in the space of a couple minutes. We all finish packing our bags and head to the dining area, waiting to be told what our activity would be for today. A loud whistle is sounded and everyone’s heads snap up to see where the noise is coming from.

"I just wanted to get your attention for a moment, so as you all know today is your last day here and we just wanted to say, from all the staff here we hope that you guys have had fun here. Now down to what activity you will be doing today. Group one rock climbing, group two canoeing, group three leap of faith, group four obstacle course, group five mud world, group six abseiling, group seven giant flying fox, group eight high ropes course, group nine construction and group 10 you guys are doing the giant swing. Alright now that you guys know what you’re doing, your leaders will be waiting outside for you ready to take you off to your activity." The dining area screeches with all the other students getting out of their chair, we all make our way outside and then I feel a warm hand on the small of my back. I stiffen a little but relax when I see that it's Harry, he leads over to where the rest of our group is.

"Ok everyone, as you would have heard you are doing the giant swing, we've just got to a little walking to get there, so keep up." We all walk down a dirt track for a couple minutes before we see the giant swing. My jaw almost hits the ground.

"That's high." I whisper to myself.

There are three giant wooden poles about 55 feet high (17 meters), and a rope stretching across from each end of the poles with slack. I look to my left and notice a metal cupboard and a bunch of logs placed close together.

"Gather round everyone I need to brief you on the safety of this before you all start." Sam says, we all walk over and take a seat on the logs. Sam goes over to the metal cupboard and opens it, revealing what looks to blue belts maybe? He takes one out as well as a helmet.

"Right, so this is your harness. It has three loops one for your left leg and one for your right legs as well as one that goes around your waist." He places his left leg through the one of the leg hoops and the same with his right leg, and then fastens the waist band on the harness.

"So ladies this doesn’t really apply to you so boys listen up. Make sure that you actually put the harness on the right way and make sure that it's tight, but not too tight otherwise you'll have peanut butter for nuts." Myself, Perrie, El and Sophia all start giggling a little whilst the boy’s cheeks flush a pale pink.

"Alright so why don't you all get a harness and helmet and meet my by the far pole over there and then I'll explain what you'll do."

"You scared yet?" Harry asks, I nod my head still a little stunned that Sam is going to make us do this.

"You'll be fine." He assures me, wrapping an arm around me and leading me over to get a harness. He takes a harness and helmet for himself and one for me. He hands me a harness and helmet and I quickly step into the loops for my legs and tighten them so they properly fit me.

"Babe you need to tighten your waist loop as well, or you'll just fall out of it." Harry laughs, he comes closer to me and dips his head down so he can see what he's doing. Suddenly I'm yanked to my left but hold onto Harrys biceps to stop myself from falling. He smiles up at me and yanks the harness once more to make sure that it's properly done.

"Satisfied?" I ask.

"Not quiet."

I'm yanked once more to Harry but this time from the front of my harness and my lips are instantly smashed against his. I melt straight into him and move my lips against his, I feel his arms make their way down to my bum and a tight squeeze takes me by surprise. He takes this opportunity to slip his tongue in. Wolf whistles go off and then a deep voice yelling out to us.

"HEY THIS ISN'T ANOTHER TIME FOR YOU TWO TO HOOK UP WITH EACH OTHER! SAVE IT UNTIL YOU GET HOME!" Sam yell. I pull back bitting my lip and looking down embarrassed from being caught out again.

"Now I'm satisfied." Harry says smirking down at me.

Both of us make our way over to Sam who is standing with the rest of our group, only waiting for us to join him so he can explain what we are doing.

"Ok, so only one person can go on the swing at a time, the rest of you have a very important job to do. The first thing that's going to happen is I am going to get the person who is swinging all buckled in on this piece of rope that is hanging from each pole. When I say ok everyone who is not on the swing will grab a different piece of rope at the other pole and you are all going to run as fast as you can in one line and as you pull the rope, it also pulls the person on the swing to the top. The person who is on the swing...all you have to do is pull the little cord that is hanging down and then you will swing."

Oh Jesus.

Harry's P.O.V

I look down at Avery and all colour has drained from her face.

"You'll be ok." I whisper to her, she slowly nods but still doesn't seem certain.

"Who wants to go first?!" Sam asks with enthusiasm. Everyone is standing still not wanting to be the first to go.

"Avery can go first." I say. She shoots me a glare of complete worry and rage.

"Ok. Avery, come with me and the rest of you go to the other pole grab the rope that's on the ground and when I tell you, you have to run as fast as you can and pull on that rope as hard as you can." We all walk over to the other end and Sam pulls out a ladder climbs one end and Avery climbs the other end so they can reach the rope and he attaches Avery's harness to the slack of the rope hanging between the two poles, once she's attached Sam pulls the ladder away and stands to the side.

"You’re so dead when she comes down." Louis says.

"I know." I chuckle.

"EVERYONE READY?!" Sam yells. I bend down and grab the rope on the ground with everyone else and we nod our heads in response.

"ON THREE YOU GUYS ARE ALL GOING TO RUN! ONE! TWO-"

"WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!" Avery yells, she's clinging to the harness as if her life depends on it.

"DO I REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS?!" Sam looks at her with amusement.

"YES YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS! OK EVERYONE ONE, TWO, THREE!"

We all run in a straight line and I look up to see Avery clinging even tighter to her harness with both her legs crossed as she's pulled to the very top of the pole.

"AVERY! ON THREE YOU NEED TO PULL THE LITTLE CORD THAT'S HANGING INFRONT OF YOU! ONE!"

Avery's .P.O.V

Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. This is way too high.

"AVERY ON THREE YOU NEED TO PULL THE LITTLE CORD THAT'S HANGING INFRONT OF YOU! ONE! TWO-"

"I DONT WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE! CAN YOU BRING ME DOWN!?" I yell, I've never been a big fan of heights and this is just way too high for me.

"BABE YOU'LL BE FINE! JUST PULL THE CORD!" Harry yells. That just makes me cling even tighter to my harness; I can't believe they make people do this!

"Fuck this is high" I try taking deep breaths but accidentally look down.

"AVERY YOU NEED TO PULL THAT CORD!" Sam yells.

Harry's P.O.V

"Do you think she'll ever pull that cord?" Sophia asks.

"Well she's got to because she hasn't got any other way of getting down." Zayn says

"COME ON LOVE, JUST PULL THE CORD AND YOU CAN COME DOWN!" I yell.

"I'M GOING TO COUNT TO THREE AGAIN AND YOU’RE GOING TO PULL THE CORD AVERY! ONE! TWO! THREE!" I see her hand reach up to the cord and with one hard tug she pulls it and is released.

"AHHHHHHH!" She screams as loud as she can and she flys down swinging from side to side with her eyes squeezed shut, we all start cheering for her to make her feel a little better. Once she starts to swing slower and is closer to the ground she tilts her head back and starts laughing and we all join her. Sam brings the ladder over to her and climbs it, unhooking her harness from the rope. She climbs down and we all gather around her.

"You fucking dickhead!" She yells at me and slaps my arm. I start laughing at her cute little angry gesture and give her a tight hug.

"You know you enjoyed it." I tell her.

"No I didn't." She mumbles from my chest.

"Yes you did, you know you did. I saw you laughing." She starts to laugh from under me, knowing that she got caught.

"WHO'S NEXT?" Sam yells.

After bus ride everyone is back at school waiting for their parents to pick them up.

Avery's P.O.V

'Hi, you've reached Mary, sorry I can't make it to the phone right now but please leave your name and number after the beep and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.'

"Hi Mum it's me, Avery. I'm just leaving you another message, I got back from camp about 30 minutes ago and I'm still waiting for you to pick me up. Please call me back or pick me up or something."

Why isn't she here? I told her before I left when I was coming back and she's still not here. Maybe she's sleeping and hasn't heard the phone ring.

"Hey what are you still doing here?" I turn around and see Harry, everyone's already gone home. What’s he still doing here?

"Well my Mum still hasn’t picked me up and I would walk home but my bags are too heavy to walk home. What are you still doing here?" I ask.

"Well my bus got caught up in some traffic so we only got back about 10 minutes ago." He explains.

"Oh." I try looking down the road to see if any cars are coming but there are none.

"Come on I'll take you home...it don’t think that your Mum is coming."

"Ok, thanks." He leads me over to his black range rover and puts my bags and his into the boot, then comes around to the front and opens the door for me. I thank him and watch as he goes around to the front of the car and gets into the driver’s side, he starts the engine and takes off down the road. I give him the directions to my house and after a short five minute drive he pulls up outside my house. We both get out and he grabs my bags for me.

"Thanks for the ride. I'll see you at school." I bend down to grab my bag but I feel Harry grab my arm pulling me back up.

"You can’t just leave without giving me my goodbye kiss."

"Yes I can." I bend down and grab my bag and take one step before I'm pulled back by my arm and my lips are attached to his. I feel one of his hands tangle in my hair and the other go around my waist. I drop my bag to the ground and wrap my arms around his neck pulling him closer to me. I wish it didn't have to end but it does. I pull back before it gets too heated.

"Thanks." I say.

"You’re welcome." His arms are still around my waist and I'm looking straight into his lust filled eyes.

Slowly his arms let me go and I take my bag and walk up to the door, I notice that there's another car in the driveway and I don’t know who’s it is but just shrug it off, maybe Mums got a friend over. I get to the front door and turn the handle and step inside and drop my bag in utter shock.

Notes

If you guys dont know what the giant swing is just look it up because it's absolutely crazy! I've done it before and I remember they told us the swing that we were going on was only built a week ago and we were the first people to try it out. It was built on the edge of a valley so when you pulled the cord you would swing down and then swing out over the valley and back and forth....to say the least it was scary but fun in the end.
