Chapter 7

---4 Days Later (Thursday)---

"Good work today everyone! Have a nice rest of your days," Zach says, dismissing us.

"That new routine is so fucking hard," Jamie complains as we gather our stuff.

"Ugh I know! There are so many lifts!" Roland whines.

"Where should we go?" I ask Jamie, Roland, and Danielle.

"Liam just texted me saying the three bands are hanging out at the mini park behind the dorms. You know the one with the pond?" Danielle says.

"Let's go there then."

When we arrive at the small park everyone is already there. Jade, Jesy, and Leigh-Anne are sitting and talking with Louis, Niall, and Harry while Zayn and Perrie are getting comfortable in the shade of a big tree. All of the 5sos boys are goofing off in the pond except for Luke who is leaning against a tree and strumming his guitar.

"I could really go for a swim right now," Roland says and takes his shirt off before running to join the three boys in the pond. I really don't want to go swimming and I obviously can't go to Perrie because she's too busy sucking Zayn's face off. It's too bad because I love Zayn and Perrie. Zayn, Perrie, and Luke are probably the people I feel closest to from each band. I want to go over to Luke but he might just want to be alone. I decide to just risk it and walk over to where Luke is sitting. He's playing a song I don't recognize and humming softly.

"Do you mind if I join you?" I ask making him look up.

"Not at all," he smiles. "I was actually hoping to ask you something."

"What's that?" I ask, sitting criss cross in front of him. He stops playing and places his guitar next to him gently before speaking.

"Well I'm not very good at this stuff," he says nervously. "But I was wondering if maybe you'd wanna hang out tomorrow after classes? Like on a date."

"Of course I would," I smile as butterflies erupt in my stomach. He grins a cute little Luke grin that makes me want to melt.

"Well because classes end earlier tomorrow because it's Friday I was thinking I could pick you up from your dorm at like 3:30?"

"Sounds perfect," I smile and he smiles back. "What kind of thing should I wear?"

"Just casual. What you normally wear is always perfect," he says.

"Cheesy much?" I laugh but can't contain the blush that creeps onto my cheeks.

"You should know by now that I'm pretty fucking cheesy," he says.

"What were just playing?" I ask gesturing towards his guitar.

"Just a song the guys and I are writing. I don't wanna give away too much but I'll tell you one thing. It's called Unpredictable."

"That's cool. I didn't know you guys wrote stuff too."

"Neither did I," he laughs.

---The Next Day (Friday)---

Classes go by excruciatingly slowly today because all I can think about is hanging out with Luke later. When Zach dismisses us for the day I practically sprint to our locker area.

"Woah what's all the rush for Kat?" Ben asks.

"She has a date!" Jamie says happily.

"With Luke!" Roland adds equally as happy.

"Ooh la la. I expect to hear all the deets when I next see you," Ben says.

"But of course. Bye Benny!" I say as I run to my room. When I get to my room I have almost an hour until Luke is supposed to pick me up. I get ready fairly quickly and have ten minutes to kill. I have no idea what to do I so I just sit around and twiddle my thumbs like an idiot until there’s a knock at the door.

"Hey Luke," I smile as I open the door.

"Hi Kat. You look lovely as always," he compliments.

"Why thank you. You don't look too bad yourself," I say, and I'm not lying. He's wearing one of his loose tank tops with tight black jeans and a pair of converse. It might be simple but it is most definitely effective.

“So where are we going?” I ask as we head down the path.

“I was thinking we could watch a movie first. Your pick, I wasn’t sure which you would have liked most,” he says.

"You know what movie I've been dying to see?"

"What? "

"We're the Millers," I say which makes him stop and look at me. "What? You don't wanna see it?"

"No, no. The exact opposite actually. That's what I wanted to see. I was worried you were gonna pick some sappy romance movie or a subtitled foreign movie."

"I much prefer a comedy," I say and he smiles.

"Me too."

"Two tickets to We're the Millers please," Luke says to the ticket booth lady.

"Here you go," she says after he gives her the money.

"Cheers, have a nice night." we make our way into the lobby and the smell of popcorn fills my nose. I fucking love popcorn. "Wanna get some snacks?" Luke asks.

"Yes please!" I say excitedly. We get one large popcorn (which in movie theater language actually means massive), one large drink, and two packs of sour patch watermelon (my freaking favorite). When we enter the theater we manage to get perfect seats. Score!

The movie is hilarious but what's even funnier is talking to Luke. I'm pretty sure the whole theater hates us.

"So then my friend made me go to his older brothers party and one of his brothers dumb ass friends had hired strippers. Only he was drunk when he called and hired them and accidentally hired MALE strippers. It was hilarious!" he says and I laugh even harder.

"Will you two PLEASE be quiet?" the guy behind us groans.

"Right sorry mate," Luke says while suppressing a laugh and I burry my head in he crook of his neck to contain my laughter.

As we leave the theater the guy who was sitting behind us shoots Luke and I a glare and we burst out laughing.

"Where to now?" I ask as we exit the building.

"Follow me. We'll have to hurry or we'll miss it," he says grabbing my hand, sending shocks through my body. I follow him for another 10 minutes before we stop in front of his car. "Just gimme a quick sec," he says before unlocking his trunk and taking out a backpack. He slings it over his shoulder and closes the trunk before we set off again.

"What exactly will we miss?" I ask as we continue to walk.

"Just trust me. Okay," he smiles. God his smile. (AN: HIS FUCKING SMILE)

"Okay," I say. It's not long before I realize that the's taking me to the hill with the gazebo over look Sydney Harbor.

"Perfect we're right on time," he says pulling out a fleece blanket and setting down on the grass.

"On time for what?" I ask as I sit down on the blanket.

"That," he says pointing to the sky line as he takes a seat next to me. The sun is beginning to set, filling the sky with beautiful shades of orange, yellow, pink, purple, and so on. London is a beautiful city but I never got to see things like this. I look over as luke begins to pull things out of the backpack. He places fake candles around the perimiter of the blanket and turns them on before pulling out different kinds of food.

"A movie and watching the sunset while eating food. That's not a cliché," I joke. I love it so much though.

"No see, it would be a cliché if I cooked you an extravagant meal with chocolate dipped strawberries and lobster salad. I'm rubbish at cooking so we're stuck with pizza, brownies, and grapes," he says.

"The latter sounds way better to me," I say and he smiles.

"And it would be a cliché if I took you to an extremely sappy romance movie where boy meets girl, something goes wrong, but they all live happily ever after."

"True." I say.

"But you know what would be the biggest cliché of all?"

"What?" I ask.

"If during the movie I pretended to yawn, and wrap my arm around you like this," he says and lets out a fake yawn before wrapping his arm around me.

"You're right, that would be pretty cliché," I say as I rest my head on his shoulder.

"You hungry?" he asks after a couple of minutes.

"Mhm," I mumble as I look at the horizon.

"Here," he says and brings I piece of pizza to my mouth. I take a bite and finish before speaking.

"So now we're feeding each other? What's next, a kiss in the rain?" I ask and he laughs.

"Unfortunately there isn't supposed to be rain in Australia for another two and a half months," he says. After the sun is done setting and we finish eating Luke unwraps his arm from my shoulder and we both lie back on the blanket. I look up at the stars and sigh with happiness. Obviously because we're in a big city we can't see the night sky to it's full potential but it is far better than London. I still can't believe that I am actually here, in Australia, living out my dream. And not only that but I have gotten so lucky. I've already made a group of amazing friends, I have a great dance partner, and my teachers are all great. This could literally not be more perfect.

"What are you thinking about?" Luke asks, turning his head to the side to face me.

"How amazing life is right now," I say and he smiles.

"It's pretty great," he agrees.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask.

"About how I really wanna kiss you right now," he says and my stomach errpts with butterflies.
