Use Somebody

Going North

Cassie's POV

I quickly put on some shorts and a shirt I fished out of my still unpacked suitcase. Pulling my hair up in a bun, I strolled towards the living room to officially meet everybody.

I could heard laughter and shouting and entered right when the three boys were still fighting on the floor. Demi and her little friends were sitting on the couch laughing, whereas Mr Concerned stood next to it, noticing me first. He smiled and came up to me.

“I'm sorry about earlier, I wanted to stop them,” he said.

“It's sort of... okay?” I laughed, not knowing how exactly I felt about them barging into my room like that.

“I'm Liam,” he introduced himself and I shook his extended hands. He had really soft skin.

“Pleasure to meet you,” I mumbled, captivated by his warm smile and nice eyes.

“The voice of an angel! I heard it!” one of the boys on the floor suddenly screamed dramatically and got up to push Liam out of the way. He stood tall in front of me and gave me the most winning grin ever.

“I'm Louis and I sort of called dibs on you,” he told me bluntly. The curly-haired one on the floor groaned in annoyance.

“Why do you have to tell that to everyone?” he shouted and got up.

“Shut it, Harry,” Louis quickly said out of the corner of his mouth, not looking away from me. Harry walked over.

“I'm pretty sure Cassie here doesn't care who called dibs.”

“Harry, shut up now.”

“I think, she'll rather choose who she wants to snog by herself,” Harry said and winked at her suggestively. I started laughing. Louis pushed Harry.

“You're ruining my move!” he hissed at him, half annoyed, half amused.

“Alright, stop it!” I said, aiming to settle the dispute. “I don't care who called dibs or whatever, but I won't be going out with any of you, okay?” I said, and immediately Louis' grin disappeared. Zayn walked over and stood next to Harry.

“Not even with your bathroommate?” he asked with a sad expression and I grinned a bit.

“No, not even with you,” I comforted him by stroking over his left biceps. Damn! He was toned.

“Challenge accepted,” Harry grinned and I felt my knees weaken a bit. He had a really cute grin. I really didn't know what to say, and Demi fortunately saved me. Shoving the boys out of the way, she grabbed me and pulled me towards the kitchen.

“Enough for now. You have almost two weeks to convince her otherwise. Now, let her be!” she said while pouring me a cup of coffee.

“Demi! I won't be starting anything with one of them!” I said to her. She smiled at me, knowingly.

“Honey, it's been two months since you and Joe broke up, and I know for a fact that you didn't even kiss someone during that time, so you must be more than sexually frustrated.” I put my hand over my heart and gasped mockingly at her.

“How dare you!” I said with a fake posh accent.

“Just... I don't know, give it a thought. They're really cute,” she grinned again and her eyes wandered over to the blonde one. I followed her line of sight and wiggled my eyebrows at her.

“Anything you want to tell me, Demetria?”

“Ugh, don't call me that, and no, not right now. Maybe later,” she confessed and we made our way over to the boys who were now relatively civilised on the couch. Niall introduced himself and we chatted around for a while. I suspected that the whole dibs and dating thing was only their first reaction and hoped nothing like that would happen again during the time we spent together.

We really enjoyed our talk, and I had to admit that the boys were quite decent lads. Suddenly, I heard my phone ring and got up to get it.

“Hello, Sandra,” I greeted my publicist.

“What the fuck were you thinking?” she screamed at me.

“Good morning to you, too. What's the problem?” I returned grumpily. I didn't like to be screamed at without a reason.

“Getting shitface-wasted and then almost flashing everyone while stepping into a cab? The story's all over the news! Apparently, you're unstable and didn't take the break-up well!” she filled me in.

“Oh, no!” I groaned. Until now, I had managed to hide my little partying nights.
“Don't do that again, alright?” she said and groaned an exhausted “yeah, won't” back. With that she hung up. I returned to the living room, massaging my palms.

“Demi? What exactly did I do last night?” I asked my friend who immediately started laughing.

“You went all North on the paparazzi,” she said.

“Oh, fuck no! I did? Bollocks,” I said and slumped down on the couch next to Harry.

“What does that mean, going North?” Niall asked Demi. All the boys were listening. She turned at him to explain.

“Notice her little Scottish accent?” they nodded. “Well, when she gets wasted that gets full-on illegible best Scottish I've ever heard. She insults everyone, but fortunately, they don't understand her and think she's just funny,” she said and the boys started laughing.

“Not funny,” I groaned and felt an arm around my shoulders. Harry's.

“Don't sweat it, little thistle. Happens to the best of us,” he said encouragingly. Did he just call me thistle? I punched him hard in the stomach and he let out a high-pitched scream which made the other boys laugh even more.

“Don't call me thistle again! I'm not a fucking plant!” I said and noticed his grin was still there.

“But you do have thorns I see,” he countered and I punched him again, only this time, he expected it and caught my hand in the air. He quickly turned my arm and I was on the floor in an instant.

“What the...” I started but was cut off be him sitting down on top of me. “Are you serious?” I asked in disbelief.

“Harry, get off the girl,” Liam tried to interfere.

“If I had a pence everytime...” the cheeky one only said and lowered his face towards mine. “Why don't we continue this to the bedroom?” he suggested. I knew what to do in a flash. I smiled suggestively at him and put forward my chin so that he came even closer. The rest of the group watched in awe while he quickly lowered his lips towards mine. I waited for the right moment before I quickly moved my head and bit hard into his nose. “Ouch!” he screamed and let go of me. I was shaken by laughter, quickly being joined by the rest of the boys.

“That was brilliant!” Louis acknowledged and fist-bumped me. “I think we will get on just fine,” he added and I smiled at him. If only he knew what I had in store if one them tried something like Harry here... I chuckled viciously and looked at my new victims. Let the games begin.
