Epilogue

3 years later:

Cassie's POV:

“Are you ready?” the stage hand asked me and I nodded gravely.

“I'll be right here the whole time, love. You can do it!” I forced myself to look at my man, my husband in front of me. He was stroking down my arms soothingly and had his eyebrows creased in concentration.

“I love you,” I said and smiled. He smiled back and gave me a soft kiss while the show started. I turned to face the stage and watched the woman who had made a mess out of my life all those years ago enter.

“Hello everybody!” Ellen began greeting the audience. After the noise had died down, she continued.

“Welcome to a very special show today. This is what so many of us have been waiting for for years now, and I cannot tell you how happy I am that Cassandra Kennedy chose my show to tell us all her story. The whole story,” Ellen announced and the audience cheered again. I leant into Harry's touch, my body on full alert.

A couple of weeks ago, I had decided that it was time to come clean. To tell the world everything. Harry and I were relatively public with our relationship anyways, even with the wedding a year ago, but the attention was still insane. I wanted to tell my story so that maybe they would finally realise that this cannot go on.

“So, without wasting any time, please welcome Cassandra Kennedy!” Ellen then said and I entered, waving happily to the audience. Ellen and I said hello and we sat down on the usual chairs.

“Hello Cassandra, how are you?” she started off.

“A little nervous, to be honest,” I said with a nervous laughter “But it's time. I finally want to share my story with everyone out there,” I said and the audience clapped respectfully.

“Well, I'm really glad you came to my show. I know that our relationship had been... rocky in the past,” she said and the audience laughed lightly.

“That's true, but it wasn't your fault after all. But we'll get to that, eventually,” I said with a wave of my hand.

“Exactly. So, let's start at the beginning... where exactly is the beginning?” she said and I took a deep breath. That was it now.

Harry's POV:

I watched proudly from behind the scenes while Cassie told the world her story. Our story. It was more than hard to watch, but I was really proud of her for staying strong. She only struggled about when she told Ellen about her miscarriage with Joseph, but I think that it was very understandable.

“And then Harry came into my life. And everything changed,” she said and smiled dreamily.

“Exactly, young Mr Styles. Now, I hear, he is here today?” Ellen asked and the audience started cheering. “Why don't you guys talk about it together?” she suggested and I adjusted my microphone before stepping onto the stage.

“I'd love to,” I said and hugged Ellen before giving Cassie a kiss on the cheek and sitting down on the chair next to her. She took my hand immediately and smiled at me. So far, it was all going by plan.

We then told Ellen everything about our time in New York, the years after, and all the things that happened in between. Cassie got very emotional again when she talked about the reason for her self-sought exile back in 2015.

“I am not made for this industry like so many other people. I love my job, and I love my fans and giving interviews, but I hate it when people follow my every move,” she explained “And I sort of completely shut down. I tried making it easier by drinking and partying, I tried not to care, but in the end, I saw no other way of escaping it all than by really vanishing off the face of the earth,” she concluded. Ellen nodded her head in understanding.

“As far as I know, no one knew exactly where you were back then, am I right?” she asked and Cassie nodded her head “So, what made you come back?” she asked further and Cassie squeezed my hand and looked at me lovingly.

“Harry here did. He found me and convinced me that we could do this together. A week later, he asked me to marry him,” she said and the crowd cheered loudly.

“And since then, how is your life?” Ellen continued after the crowd went calm again.

“It's been... the best of both worlds,” I quickly said and looked at Cassie softly. “Only this one here still thinks we get far too much attention,” I then added and we both laughed.

“Yeah, that's true. I do wish the paparazzi would leave us alone a bit more,” Cassie added.

“Well, now that everything's said, maybe they will? Who knows?” Ellen joked and we all chuckled.

“Maybe, we'll see,” Cassie smirked and I knew now was the time.

“Ellen, we want to thank you so much for all of this,” I said and Ellen faked tears.

“You guys, it has been my pleasure!” she said and we got up and hugged her.

“But before we go, we still have something for you,” I then continued and we sat down again. Ellen looked excited.

“A present? Oh, I love presents,” she said like a little child and the audience laughed.

“Sort of...” I said mysteriously while taking out a simple white envelope form my blazer jacket and handed it to her.

“Oh, what's this....” she asked while opening it. She had a peek inside and clapped her hand over her mouth when she realised what was in it. “Really?” she asked Cassie who proudly nodded. Ellen took out the contents of the envelope and held it into the camera.

“We're having a baby,” I said while she showed the world an ultrasound picture .

The whole studio went crazy.

Cassie's POV:

“That was exhausting,” I let out a loud sigh after we were finally in the safety of our own home in the Hollywood Hills. We had bought a decent-sized house here because I was shooting a lot in the studios.

“But worth it,” Harry said while he closed the door behind us. I smiled and extended my hands towards him. He walked into my embrace and squeezed me tight. I sighed into his shoulder and planted a soft kiss on his neck.

“I just want to wear sweatpants and lounge around in front of the TV now, if that's alright with you?” I asked and detached myself from him. He softly brushed my hair out of my face and smiled dreamily.

“I'm afraid that won't be possible,” he said while taking my hand and guiding me towards our big living room. We rounded the corner and came face to face with a group of people.

“Congratulations!” they all shouted and jumped around. I laughed at the sight of them, wearing party hats and holding up a big banner with the words 'Congrats for the baby' above their heads.

“Oh my god... thank you so much!” I said while stepping towards the group. One after one, we all hugged. There were Demi and Niall, together with their 2 little rascals, as well as Liam and Behati, with little Lola, then there was Zayn and his girlfriend of two years, as well as Louis and a very pregnant Eleanor. Rachel was also there with her fiancé, as well as Grimmy, who came with Alexa. One after one, they interrogated us and pressed for all sorts of news.

We sat down on a huge dinner table in the garden, which was carrying delicious baked goods and then we talked, and talked, and talked... for hours, really.

I excused myself at one point and went inside to use the bathroom. When I wanted to return, Harry stood by the patio doors, waiting for me.

“I hope you don't mind they're all here,” he said and I just smiled.

“Not at all, they're like family. It was a great idea,” I said and stepped into his warm embrace. He kissed the top of my hair and stroked down my back softly.

I sighed contently when I suddenly felt a small kick in my lower regions. My eyes widened in shock and Harry and I drew apart.

“Did you just feel that, too?” I asked him, slightly panicking. He brought one hand down to my stomach and his expression softened.

“Love, I think our baby has started kicking,” he said softly and all my anxiety washed away. I touched my slightly bigger stomach as well and we felt it again.

“Harry, what if I'll lose this one as well,” I ask, my voice a mere whisper and my forehead creased.

His hands cup around my face and he gives me a long and passionate kiss. When his lips leave mine, he leans his forehead against mine, smiling.

"You won't. Wanna know why?" he asks, locking eyes with me. I nod.

“Because I love you, Cassie,” he says and I finally smile back at him.

“I love you too, Harry. Forever and always.”
