The Girl

Chapter Three

"Hazel I-I, are you sure?" Rosaline stuttered in disbelief. I cried some more and slowly nodded.

"Yes. We're both being weighed down." My heart felt as if it were going to crack into a million pieces. This is the worst feeling I've ever felt. "I love him, I'm just not in love with him anymore." I whispered.

"Um, gosh." She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.

"Can I stay here for a few days? Until I find a lawyer. I want everything set up before I tell him." I was trying my best to keep up with every word I spoke.

"Y-yeah, of course. I have some pajama's you can borrow." She rushed to get a pair of sweats and a tank top which I changed into.

"Good night." I murmured as I snuggled into the blankets on the couch. I could feel her staring at me but ignored it.

"Scoot over." I furrowed by eyebrows but did as I was told.

"Tonight I'm sleeping here," she was crying too. "And we're listening to sad breakup songs. Okay?"

"W-why are you c-crying?" I sobbed harder.

"I hate seeing you this sad and heartbroken." We held each other tight as we listened to White Demon Love Song by The Killers, Satellite Heart by Anya Marina, These Four Walls by Little Mix, Poison and Wine by The Civil Wars and so much more (A/N: listen to those songs while reading this)

'Oh I don't love you but I always will'

I woke up early, around 4 AM and read and cooked breakfast around 8 for me and Rosaline. I also searched for a local lawyer that'd help me. "Smells good." She yawned.

"On the table." I pointed and went back to looking at the laptop. "I have an appointment today at 3 o'clock with a William Berns to discuss the divorce." I informed her.

"He said that he can print up the divorce application when we meet."

"I can't believe you're really doing this." I looked down and shrugged.

"Me either."

"Hazel, you need to tell him. You need to tell Harry."

"No, I rather have everything set up then tell him." I sighed. "I have to go back to the house and pack some stuff up, I'll be back in about an hour." I left Rosaline's and drove, praying he wouldn't be home. I pulled up into the driveway and sure enough, he was there. I slowly walked up to the door and unlocked it. He was pacing back and forth with his phone in his hand.

"There you are!" He shouted and strode towards me. "Where have you been!?" I furrowed my eyebrows and backed up.

"Rosaline's, I spent the night."

"I tried calling you a million times." I pulled out my phone and tried turning it on, it was dead.

"It's dead." I shrugged.

"I'm sorry about last night." I shook my head.

"You always are."

"No Hazel, I mean it."

"You always say that." I laughed to hold back my tears.

"God dammit Hazel will you just listen to me?!" I sighed in defeat. "I want to make things right, I really do. I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you, I'm sorry for being so distant, I'm sorry for not trying as hard as you to make this marriage work! I'm sorry!" He cried. I stood there taking in every word he said.

"Harry, I need to go. We'll talk later tonight." I whispered and ran upstairs to pack my clothes and toiletries.

"W-where are you going? Y-You're leaving me?" He asked like a kid who just lost his mum in a supermarket.

"I-I'm g-going back to Rosaline, she n-needs me." I lied and held back my breakdown.

"You're c-coming back right?" I stopped what I was doing and nodded without facing him. The next time I'd be back was to give him the papers.

"Yeah, yeah I'm coming back Harry." A tear slid out as I shoved the last of the clothes into the duffle bag. I pushed by him and skipped downstairs.

"Hazel." He called out before I could exit the house.

"Yes?" I asked, biting my lip so no more tears wouldn't leave my eyes.

"Look at me." I sighed and slowly turned around. There stood a man that made me so happy that I questioned why so many people were sad. A man that was my world, A man that who vowed to love, protect and be mine forever. A man I was once so In love with.

"I love you Hazel, always know that." He sniffed.

"I love you too Harry." With that I left the house and threw my bag onto my passenger seat. "I love you Harry, but just not like before." I whispered to myself and drove off.

"Hazel Styles?" The petite blonde asked me.

"Yes, that's me."

"Good, Mr. Berns is ready for you." She smiled and led me to his office.

"Thank you." I entered his office and there was middle aged man with a few grey hairs and glasses standing with papers in his hands talking to another person.

"Yes, and tell them to come by soon." Mr. Berns told the man. "Ah, you must be Hazel, William Berns." He stuck out his hand which I took.

"Would you like any coffee, water, tea?" The blonde kindly asked.

"No, thank you." She left the room and I sat down I front of Mr. Berns' desk.

"So you would like a divorce from Mr. Harry Styles." I shifted uncomfortable in my seat and nodded.

"Yes I would." "

And what are the reasons?"

"We're just arguing all the time, I've been feeling so alone even when he's around. We're so distant now, I feel like we're strangers." I spoke uneasy.

"Mrs. Styles, are you sure you want to go through with this? I've dealt with many cases and from what I've seen, you don't seem too sure about going through with it." I started to cry, again.

"I'm sure. I'm sure." I wiped my eyes.

"Alright, does Mr. Styles know that you want to do this?" I shook my head.

"I'm planning on telling him when I get the papers."

"You know that he can't just sign the papers then you two will be divorced? You'll both have to set up meetings with lawyers like me to discuss lots of things, like money."

"He can keep all of his money, I don't care."

"But it's mandatory, here," he handed me two packets "these are the papers you should go over and he should too. In there are the papers you both would need to sign to start the divorce process." I hesitated but eventually took the packets.

"Call my office when you're ready."

"Thank you sir. Thank you." I left the building and rushed to my car with the packets hugged tight to my chest. "Ouch!" I winced and fell down.

"Sorry!" I looked up to see who was helping me up.

Liam. And Sophia. And Perrie. And Zayn.

"H-hey guys." I said.

"Hazel? Did you just come out of that law firm building?" Perrie questioned.

"N-no." I lied "what're you guys doing?"

"Getting pizza, what are you holding?" Zayn asked.

"Please don't lie to us." Liam begged. "Is that what we think it is?" I looked down and sniffed.

"Yes." I whispered.

"Shit." Zayn groaned. "Hazel don't do this, don't. He loves you so much you can't do this to him."

"He was distraught last night, you can't do this to him." Liam added with desperation in his voice.

"I need to. Please don't tell him, I'm going to tonight. This is my decision." I brushed by them and got in to my car.

Time to go tell him.
