I was getting extremely frustrated with Harry. The first night I had stayed over was the only time I ever stayed. He still hasn’t taken me on a proper date like he promised. We continued to have little “dates” at each other apartments and we would even take brief walks through the park, but other than that we never actually went out. I had finally had enough. It was time for an ultimatum. I reached for my phone sitting next to me and dialed Harry.

“Spenc! Love how are you!?” he smiled into the phone.

“Not so good.”

“What’s wrong babe?” he sounded concerned.

“You told me that you were going to take me on a real date and we still haven’t done that yet. Am I not good enough? Are you embarrassed of me? I don’t understand why we haven’t gone out yet.”

“Spencer, look it’s extremely complicated, one day you’ll understand why but I just can’t right now. I’m really sorry, but we will go soon, I promise.”

I sighed loudly into my phone, “No, we go this month or else I’m done. Completely done with this bullshit.”

He raised his voice a little, not yelling but I could tell he was growing frustrated, “Spencer that is completely unfair! I’m doing this for a reason.”

“Then just tell me what it is! I’m sure I’ll understand.” I yelled.

“It’s not that simple babe, it’s really not.” He sighed, seeming conflicted.

“Just. Tell. Me.”

“I want too, but I honestly can’t right now.”

“Fine. You have until the end of the week, or I’m gone Harry.” I said ending the call, completely pissed.




The next day

After my phone call with Harry I felt bad. I mean maybe he has a real reason he doesn't want to go out on real dates, or maybe I'm just being selfish. I don't know either way but he doesn't seem mad at me for giving the ultimatum. He seems like he understands and wants to give in but he just won't. I knew he was hiding something and it was really starting to irritate me.

I was scribbling sketches for the next piece I was going to make for school when Ana walked in.

“Spencer, you probably want to see this.” Ana said carrying her laptop. She sat it down on the coffee table in front of me and my mouth dropped.

“What the fuck is this?” I asked confused.

“That looks like you and Harry, sweetie.” Ana sighed.

“Yeah I did wear my red jacket out with him the other day we walked to the park. Why are people concerned? How did you find this?” I asked baffled.

“You should probably type his name into Google Spencer.”

I took the computer off the table and placed it in my crossed legs, entering google I braced myself for what was next. I looked over at Ana who sat down next to me, Kasi randomly appearing on my other side, squeezing my hand. I typed the two words that I didn’t think would cause me any problems. The only name I thought I could truly trust other than my best friends. Who was Harry?

“Har-ry Styl-es” I spoke as I typed. Enter. No turning back now.

“Oh my god.” Was all I could get out.

I looked at link after link, he was everywhere. Harry this, One Direction that. I had vaguely heard of the band but never took interest in them. I had never heard one song or knew any of the band members. I decided to look them up.

“Ana, Kasi, these are the guys I hang out with when I’m over Harry’s.” I stared dumbfounded at the screen. “They’re famous. This one,” I said pointing to a picture on my screen “is Louis, he's super obnoxious and I'm not sure if I like him or not yet, and that one is Liam, all he does is read newpapers and scribble in a notebook, and Niall, he’s so funny and seriously obsessed with food and beer. That’s Zayn,” I started and was cut off.

“HELLO SEXUAL!” Kasi yelled.

“You gotta boyfriend Kas.” I rolled my eyes.

“Not if a famous boy band member wants to date me.” She winked. I continued.

“Anyways that’s Zayn, he’s always on his phone, cracking jokes when you least expect it. Holy shit, I’ve smoked weed on the balcony with Liam, Zayn and Louis. This is nuts. Harry is so famous.”

“That’s why he doesn’t want to take you out on a date, he wants to keep it a secret.” Ana said tapping my head.

“Why didn’t he just tell me who he was?” I sighed again.

“Maybe he wanted to see if you could fall for him, not his fame.” She shrugged.

“I guess that makes sense, I think I did pretty well.” I laughed with my friends.

“Keep going along with it and wait til he’s ready to tell you.” Ana suggested.

“That’s a good idea Ana, and in the meantime if you want us to all get together and mingle, I am down.” Kasi joked, laughing.

“You know, that might be a good idea. My birthday is next week, gives us an excuse.” I said

“OH! And we can totally hint at the fact that WE know who they are, but you have no idea!” Kasi winked. “And it can be a ‘surprise!”

"How are you going to surprise me though? I'm here all the time!"

"Well I'll remind Harry it's your birthday and tell him we want to throw a surprise party and hopefully he can take you out!" Kasi clapped excitedly.

"Yeah, don't worry about it, we'll figure something out." Ana reassured.

"I'll invite him over and when I leave the room you guys come talk to him or whatever." I shrugged.

"Good idea. Call him!" Kasi urged throwing my phone at me.

I stuck my tongue out as I pressed send. He answered almost instantly.

"Hey Spencer! How are you!" He seemed happy, this was good!

"I'm great!" I said hoping he wouldn't hint at the sarcasm. "Hey what are you doing tonight?"

"Uh well me and the guys have this thing for work, we should be done around 9 or 930. Why, what's up?"

"Well I was wondering if maybe you'd like to come hang out over here? I just bought a ton of new movies and endless amounts of ice cream and snacks!"

"Maybe you should have met Niall first, I've never seen anyone eat as much as you two!" I laughed along with him. "But I'd love to come, I just might not make it until around 11 or so."

"No that's fine! You can stay here if you'd like to. It doesn't matter."

"Alright, I got to go but I'll see you later then yeah?"

"Yup! Bye Harry!" I hung up.

Ana and Kasi were staring at me with eager eyes. "Calm down guys, he's coming. But not until later like 11 or whatever."

"Good that gives us time to go buy those movies and snacks you said you had!"
