Love & Betrayal

Watch It!

“Wow, asshole. Watch where you’re going.” I spat as a large, solid body collided with my own.

“Excuse me? Is that how you speak to strangers these days?” he scoffed, placing a hand on his chest to appear offended.

“Um, it’s called manners! You just don’t run into someone then scoff at them as if it was their fault.” I stomped my foot, getting impatient. “when it was clearly yours!” I added for emphasis.

“What is it with you bimbo American girls?”

Up until now, I hadn’t even noticed this man fully, being too engulfed in my rage towards our collision. He had what seemed to be a British accent. How I missed that I have no idea. He was taller than me; I’d say about 6 foot. He had straggly, curly, brown hair sticking out of all directions from under the beanie he wore. His eyes were a piercing hazel, almost green. They bore into my silver eyes as he stood arms crossed against his chest, waiting for me to make my move. I tried to think of a witty and equally insulting comeback but I couldn’t. I was too busy taking in my enemy.

“I, uh, bimbo?” I stuttered. I hadn’t been called a bimbo since middle school. Maybe it was more common wherever he was from.

“That’s right, air-headed, empty-minded, etc.” he said.

I stood there mouth open wide, not even knowing if my voice still worked. He reached his hand up to my chin and popped my jaw closed.
“That’s how you catch flies, love.” His scowl growing into an adorable smirk.

“Oh so now you think you can be all cute and flirtatious after you just called me a bimbo?” I stuck my hand up wagging my finger side to side, as if to say no. “That’s not gonna work on this girl.” I huffed stamping my foot again.

“My apologies. It’s just not every day you get yelled at by a completely gorgeous stranger.” He raised his eyebrows, his mouth forming into a smile, testing my patience.

“Oh ha ha ha. Look at you, thinking you can just sweep me off my feet because you’re a handsome British lad.” I said quickly without even realizing the words that left my mouth. “I uh, I mean that, uh, I guess, um.”

He cut me off my stuttering with another smirk, “You think I’m handsome?” he asked timidly, almost shy.

I knew at this point I should just walk away from this boy. I didn’t know him and all of 3 minutes ago I was yelling at the top of my lungs towards him. I tightened the grip I had around my winter coat. I hadn’t even noticed how cold I was until this moment.

It was the middle of February in downtown New York City, not the warmest of times here. It was a brisk 37 today with a wind chill of 30. The night had fallen a few hours ago, leaving the streets almost deserted. It was still beyond me how this moron ran directly into me with an empty sidewalk. Then it dawned on me.

“You ran into me on purpose.” I flatly stated.

He looked caught off guard as a blush began to form across his cheeks. It was his turn to stutter.

“I mean, I uh, no, what, why would I even do that?” he mumbled.

“Come on, the streets are completely bare! You had to see me coming towards you; the street lamps aren’t that dim. You wanted to get my attention.” I smiled triumphant, poking at his stomach for extra oomph. He playfully batted my hand away from him, smiling at the ground, admitting his defeat.

“Fine, you’ve caught me. I saw you and I just thought you were so beautiful and you never would have even seen me. You were too preoccupied on your phone. The way the screen light captured your face. I just had too.” He slurred quickly, running everything together. He suddenly sounded nervous.

I wasn’t creeped out as I normally would be if some random stranger went out of his way to collide with me for attention. But this kid, he seemed genuine, like I could trust him.

“I’m Spencer. Spencer McMichael.” I smiled, extending a hand towards him.

“Harry. Harry Styles.” He gripped my hand tight, a smile spreading across his entire face. We stood there awkwardly for a silent second until I cleared my throat. I was freezing.

“Well, I was heading that way, on my way for a warm cup of coffee then home. I should probably get going.” I saw the sad expression taking over Harrys face, quickly adding, “But you’re welcome to accompany me for some coffee, I’m sure you’re cold too.”

He shrugged trying to act nonchalant at the offer, but I could tell how excited he truly was. “I could go for some hot tea. I’m assuming you know a good place then?”

I love this story but spencer is a terrible person she's basically cheated on Harry three times, lies about her drug use and hangs out with people she knows he doesn't like and basically can't trust herself with other guys when he isn't around! Yet she blames him for being jealous and overprotective she's a slut tbh
