Chapter 4
Lizzie's POV
Tic-toc, tic-toc, tic-toc. The clock on the wall was practically mocking me, trying to frustrate me and succeeding at that. I guess it's added to my frustration, I can't say I was exactly pleased that my guardian was chosen by a game of rock-paper-scissors. The crowd kinda cleared after that anyway, so that was a relief, I found that they'd planned to go on some sort of trip to an amusement park and I'm guessing that's as mature as they're gonna get. Sigh.
Olivia had been babbling on about having some sort of celebration dinner tomorrow. She said it's to celebrate the new member of the family, A.K.A me, but I know it's to show me off like some sort of trophy like Mr.Cowell had said. I still think it's unfair that I've been adopted for an act and not because they're a beautiful couple, unable to have a child and then suddenly the find the one. Ta-da! In comes me and now enter happy ending!
But, no, I had to be adopted because I had a good face. Congrats Elisabeth, you have a nice face. Oh well, if they want an actress they have one.
"Lizzie, come on, the dinner is tomorrow and you need beauty sleep." Olivia sang. I turned my head up to finally look up at the clock. 8:45. Seems like a legit bedtime right now.
"Okay," I nodded and get up from the sofa to hold her hand whilst she guided me to yet another room. We climbed yet another set of stairs, walked down yet another hall, past yet another bathroom and then turned yet another corner. This house is just massive, not somewhere you'd imagine a girl like me living.
Olivia stopped in front of white door she let go of my hand and led me in. It was an average sized bedroom with white on each wall except one which was a light purple, against it was a plush looking double bed with tiny purple flowers on he duvet, at the bottom if the bed was a small sofa lined with a few teddies. The bed more-or-less took up all the space but in the left over space was a white desk with plenty of books and other things on it.
"It's not much but--"
"It'll do?" I guessed. "It's great, thank you." I smiled.
"Well I was actually going to say that the wardrobe made up for it." She crossed the room, over to a walk-in-wardrobe that I hadn't noticed before. She then pulled the doors open to reveal a long walkway of clothes from swimsuits to pyjamas.
"Wow." I whispered in awe.
"Yup, but what else would you expect from One Direction?" She mumbled. I looked over my shoulder to see her staring into space. Oh what I'd do to read her mind right now...
She shook her head and regained her posture.
"Let's get you for bed, shall we?" She smiled.
