Just Another Mistake ~Sequel to Falling
Chapter 6
Arianna's P.O.V.
"I decide..." I trailed off not really sure of what I'm going to do. I can't believe Aro would leave everything to me. Why can't he just decide so I can go and cry in a corner.
I sighed as everyone look at me expectantly. I caught Bella's eyes and saw an something I haven't seen for a long time. Fear. The only time I remember her being afraid was when James came along. She wasn't even afraid when Rosalie was practically at her throat every time she came over. I smirked thinking about torturing her. Make her think I'll decide to kill her. Then I heard Edward gasp. My head snapped to his direction. He discretely mouthed, kill her? He's eyes looked so horrified and hurt that I felt my heart break. He heard. But I think he only heard the last five words. It hurts that he cares so much for her. And it hurts because he's hurting, as stupid as that may sound.
I looked away trying not to give anything away. I thought it out. I want to kill her so much. I want her out of my life so everything would go back to normal. But I knew that even if Bella's gone, her memory would still haunt Edward for eternity. The only girl he fell in love with. Probably the only girl he'll ever fall in love with. That last thought made my heart break.
Even though I hate her and want her out of my life, I'd rather hurt for eternity than see Edward hurt for a second. I know it's stupid but that just how I feel. I took a deep breath.
"I decided that she should live." I said hesitantly. I heard a breath of relief from Edward and Bella, and growls from Jane, Alec, Felix and Dimitri. I glanced at Alice. I expected her to be happy since she's all best friends with Bella. But she just glanced worriedly at me. I gave her a small smile to reassure her.
"But what if she tells?" Caius growled.
I opened my mouth to respond but Bella spoke before I could. "I would never tell anyone! I love Edward more than anything and I would never intentionally put him in danger." She said quickly. She looked a bit proud of what she said. I concentrated on getting a few words from her mind.
"I think I may have won that Caius guy over. He doesn't seem upset. I hope they'll let me go. But they most likely will since Arianna said so. I guess I owe my life to that bitch."
I almost went for her throat but I restrained myself. I can't believe she just thought that. I saved her life and she says I'm a bitch. Ugh. Ungrateful brat.
My thoughts were cut off when Caius spoke. "Was I talking to you human? Don't you dare speak when I'm not talking to you. You're not welcomed here so don't act like you are. Everye in this room can kill you so shut up." He hissed.
I accidentally chuckled and suddenly everyone's eyes were on me. Um. Awkward. "Uh. I have an idea so we can solve that problem."
Aro nodded at me to continue so I did. "She should leave with the Cullens. But someone from here should leave with her, to keep an eye on her. One word and she dies. So does her whole family." I said confidently. I knew Bella would never tell because first, well her reason and second she values her family's lives too much. But I like the fact that I can threatened her and be able to be practically in control of her life. She owes me her life and I wouldn't let her forget that.
"Damn. I was hoping you'd decide to let us eat her so we can all live happily ever after." Felix muttered.
In a matter of seconds the throne room was filled with laughter. Everyone was laughing menacingly except for Edward, Bella and Alice.
I spoke one the laughter died down. "Trust me Felix, it was very tempting. But of course I have to do the right thing here." I smirked.
He gave me a knowing look. He knew that I wasn't doing this to do the right thing. He knew that I was doing this so I can hold something over Bella's head.
"Alright is its decided. The Cullens and Bella will go home with one or two of our guards." Aro said loudly.
"But who's going with them?" Jane asked with disgust. "I'm obviously not going." She added.
"Ari can come!" Edward said.
Every head snapped to his direction. "Well she's already used to us so I guess it's only logical that she's the one who comes with us." He explained less loudly.
Felix snorted. Yes, snorted. "You really think Ari is gonna go with you people? After what happened?"
Edward grimaced. "It was just a suggestion. Besides its Arianna's decision."
"Arianna do you want to go?" Aro asked.
"No." My answer came out harsher than I intended but I didn't care. I don't want to go back. I don't want to have to face Carlisle and Esme.
I avoided Edward's piercing gaze
"Alright then, Alec you're going." Aro decided.
"What?" Alec shouted. We all stared at him in shock. Alec never yelled before. He's always been so quiet and gentle. "I don't want to go with them." He said with disgust.
"I don't want my brother going with them. He's an important part of the Volturi and he can't just go and babysit some stupid human." Jane snarled.
This is the first time Jane and Alec argue with Aro.
Aro narrowed his eyes. "That is my decision and its final. If you don't want him going alone then you may go with him. 3 maximum are going and that's final."
I'm really surprised since I never saw Aro be so harsh with Jane.
Jane looked shocked but slightly defeated, we all knew that no one can change Aro's mind. But what surprised us more was her decision. "Fine. I'll go with him." She forced out.
They looked so miserable that I felt responsible. If only I'd just said yes and went with them. I met Alec's gaze and I saw that he was pleading with his eyes. And I knew exactly what he wanted. I wanted to refuse but I knew they'd feel so out of place and miserable.
"I'll go too." I said quietly.
Everyone gasped. I was the last person who'd actually volunteer. I looked at Aro. But he had as much expression as a brick wall. But I could see understanding in his eyes. "Alright. Go pack."
We nodded. And left the room. But not before I heard Dimitri speak. "That's it? You'll just let her go like that?"
"She needs it Dimitri. I don't know if this is exactly what she wants but I know she needs it. Something will come out of it. She'll either come back hurt but more at peace or come back happy yet troubled." Aro said quietly. "But she will come back."
