Just Another Mistake ~Sequel to Falling

Chapter 3

Arianna's P.O.V.

Let's go Ari." Alec said quietly. He's still upset with me because I wouldn't tell him what was wrong.

I grabbed my suitcase following Alec outside. Aro gave us parting words and then we were on our way.

As we got closer and closer to Forks, the heavier I felt. I felt like I was going to suffocate because of all the pressure and memories. I don't know what I'll do if I see them. I'd probably reveal everything and just run into their arms. But I doubt it will be open. They took me in and in return I left like an ungrateful brat.

Dimitri urged us faster. He wanted to get it over with. I wanted to refuse but I couldn't. It would make them suspicious. So I did what he wanted. I went faster.

Dread filled my gut when I realized where we are headed. The Wolves' land. I prayed to God that they'll be busy with something and won't notice us. We entered the Quileute land. I felt relieved for a secind as we neared the end of the border when sudenly a large wolf burst through the bushes, snarling at us. I saw Dimitri and Alec's shock when they saw the gigantic wolf chasing us.

The black wolf was soon joined by a chocolate coloured one and a russet coloured wolf. I recognized the russet coloured wolf immediately. Jacob. (okay I'm not sure if I mentioned the wolves in Falling For You but if I didn't just pretend I did. I'm sorry I have a lot on my mind and I have a really bad memory) I saw a flash of recognition in his eyes and he slowed down. The black one who I assumed was the leader, slowed down too, followed by the chocolate coloured one. They stared at Jacob in confusion, before realizing that we already crossed the border. I gave Jacob a slight nod to thank him. He didn't do anything but I knew he saw.

The three of us came to a stop 5 minutes later. "What the hell was that?" Dimitri growled.

"Um a wolf?" I said unsurely. What would they tell Aro? What if Aro thought that they're like the Children of The Moon and hunt them down? Jacob is my friend and I would never hurt him. But I knew what side I would choose in a heartbeat.

"No. That was no ordinary wolf." Alec argued.

Dimitri opened his mouth to agree but I spoke before he could. "Don't we have to get going? The faster we deliver this to the Cullens, the faster we'd get home."

We continued our journey to the Cullens' which wasn't even that far. When we reached their turf, I immediately knew that something was wrong. I was overcome by the feeling of sadness and emptiness.

"Shouldn't they meet us out here? I mean with their psychic and all." Alec commented.

I did reply but I thought that too. Alice should've had a vision. They should be meeting us out.

I approached the door slowly and knocked. When I recieved no answer for about 5 minutes, I opened the door. The sight inside almost made me breakdown and cry. My home. My beautiful home was empty. It's like no one lived here for such a long time. I didn't even notice Alec and Dimitri was behind me.

They too looked around in shock.

"It's empty. No one's here." Alec commented. Well no shit Sherlock.

"We should go. Stay at a hotel or something for the night because I'm exhausted." I said, feeling hollow.

I walked out before wating for them to answer. I ran as fast as I could to the only hotel in Forks. I checked in and got one room for the night. Alec and Dimitri were behind me in a heartbeat. I checked the woman at the counter to see if she saw them but she was too busy on the phone. I gave Dimitri the key and said that I'll be back tonight.

I ran straight for the Quileute's land. I stopped straight at the border and called for Jacob. I was starting to lose hope when he suddenly appeared through the bushes. I jumped into his arms and hugged him. I was careful not to squeeze too hard though.

It took him a few seconds to hug me back, but he did. "Ari. What are you doing here? I thought you left?" he asked gruffly.

I let go of him and looked at the ground shamefully. "Yeah. I did leave. But I had to come back because the Volturi needed to deliver a package to the Cullens'. But they weren't there. Why aren't they here Jake?" I asked desperately.

His eyes immediately darkened. "They left. Something happened with Bella so they left. The that little black haired girl came back and took Bella. Something about saving Edward."

I flinched at the mention of his name. But something caught my attention. "Save?" I choked out.

He shrugged. "I honestly don't know what's happening. They just left in a hurry."

Tears started to pool in my eyes. "It's all my fault. If I didn't leave, none of this would've happened."

Jacob's arms immediately wrapped around me. "Ssh. Don't. Don't blame yourself for this. They left because of an accident. Not because of you." he comforted.

We were interrupted when a rough voice yelled, "What is the meaning of this?"

We pulled away and I turned to face the man. I recognized his eyes immediately. It was the black wolf.

"Sam I can explain." Jacob said hurriedly.

"Well you better because you getting all cozy with a leech need a proper exaplnation." Sam hissed.

"Arianna is like the Cullens. She's never killed before. She lives on animal blood. She was with the Cullens for a while but had to leave because of an argument. She just came back becasue she needed to deliver a package to the Cullens." he explained quickly.

Sam's eyes narrowed at me. His eyes filled with distrust. "What about those other two bloodsuckers with you?"

"They're my friends. I told them that they couldn't hunt here in Forks or anytown near it. They already hunted out of Forks so they wouldn't hunt anytime soon." I replied.

He curtly nodded. "Jacob you're needed for a tribe meeting. Let's go." Without waiting for an answer, he turned on his heels and strode into the forest.

Jacob sighed heavily then turned to me. "I guess I have to go."

"Okay. I have to go too. It was nice seeing you again Jake." I smiled genuinely for the first time that day. We gave each other another hug then parted ways.

I didn;t have to think about where I would go next. In five minutes, I was standing inside Bella's room. I looked around in disgust. Even though I promised to myself that I would give her a chance, I couldn't. I hate her. If she didn't coem along in the first place, we would all be happy. I wouldn't have left and Edward wouldn't need to be saved.

I could hear her Dad coming upstairs so I took that cue to leave. I arrived at the hotel and went straight up to my room. I found Dimitri and Alec talking.

"Hey where have you been?" Alec questioned.

"Around" I said coldly.

I saw shock and hurt flash through his eyes. If it was any other time I would feel so bad. But I couldn't feel bad. I couldn't feel anything. I was just empty.

"So we were thinking that we should just return back to Aro and tell him that the Cullens aren't there anymore. And since it's a 2 day journey, we have to leave pretty early." Dimitri interrupted my stare down with Alec.

I nodded in agreement. "Alright I'm fine with that."

I just curled up in a corner and stared off into space. I didn't know how many minutes or hours passed. Dimitri just shook me, telling me that we have to leave.

Running didn't feel so good this time. I just felt more separated with my family.

The closer I got to Volterra, the more dread I felt. I felt like something bad was going to happen. And I felt that it was going to happen right in Volterra.
