Fear

"Ladies and Gentleman,we will be landing in London in 10 minutes.Thank you for choosing this airline to be your host during your flight.this is your captain,Joshua Simons speaking.we'll hope to see you soon."
i sighed and looked out of the window,we were much more close to the ground now.4 hours on a plane isn't exactly a pleasurable thing so i was kinda excited to get off of this plane.i can't sleep on a plane,no matter what i do,i just cant.
but my grand mother drifted off the moment the plane took off,i cant blame her though,she must be exhausted.as if right on cue,she stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes slowly.i smiled at her and asked her:
"slept alright granny?"
she smiled back and said:
"yup,did you?"
i decided to lie:
"yeah,like a rock"
she smiled wider and said:
"well,when are we going to land?"
"actually the pilot just said we'll be landing in 10 minutes"
"really?was i sleep for 4 hours?i'll be damned"
"you needed it"
"can't argue with you there"
the seat belt signs went on and we both put ours on.the plane went lower and lower and finally after some bumps here and there we landed on the ground.after the plane cam to a stop.Granny grabbed her purse and i grabbed mine and we walked towards the doors.i told my grand mother:
"Granny,i'm gonna go get our luggage"
she said
"ok honey,i'm gonna go sit over there,i would offer you help but i know i won't be able to do anything"
i smiled at her and told her:
"don't need any help,it's only 2 suitcases"
i gave her my bag and she walked towards the seats and i went to get the suitcases.
i got them with no problem only having to say 'excuse me' and 'i'm sorry' about a 100 times to a 100 people.
i walked towards my grand mother and she stood up walking towards me.she said:
"let's go then,you get your bag and one of the suitcases while i take my purse and the other one"
i nodded my head and gave her one of the handles while taking my bag.we walked outside and towards the parking.we found her car with no problem and i place the suitcases in the trunk.
i went to the passenger's side and got in,i let go of a breath i didn't know i had held.granny turned the car on and got out of the parking space,i looked outside the window while i leaned against the car sit.not long after,i drifted off to sleep.

"Rose honey,Wake up,we're there"
i slowly opened my eyes to see my grand mother looking at me with a smile.i looked outside the window and saw we were at granny's house,my new home.i looked at the clock and it was 4:30.
i smiled at Granny and in attempt to joke i said:
"about damn time"
she chuckled slightly and shook her head.i opened the door and got out of the car while stretching my body because i felt like a rock.
after we got our own bags and the suitcases we got in the house,and i felt like i would sleep a whole week if i could.Granny said:
"let me take you to your room,you must be tired,you can sleep and i'll call you for dinner ok?"
"ok granny"
she led me down the hallway to the room that used to be the guest room and said:
"welcome to your new room"
i looked inside,everything from my old room was moved to here,the room was smaller than my old one but not much.i went inside and sat down on my bed,i smiled back at my grand ma and told her:
"i love it"
she grinned wider happy with my answer and said:
"great!well i'll leave you to rest then,you have your own bathroom so you can take a bath if you like"
"i will but i just want to sleep right now,i'll take one after i wake up"
"ok honey,sleep well"
with that she went out and closed the door behind her.i took my phone out of my jackets pocket and walked up to my bag to take out it's charger.after i plugged the phone to the charger,on the nightstand next to my bed,i took off my jacket and turned the light's off.i was already wearing comfortable clothes because i knew we would have a long trip.i went under the cover's and yawned.
i thought about my mom and dad,i know their somewhere up there,i know their looking at me right now,i know their gonna protect me.they wanted me to have a good life,so i'm gonna try and have one.
with those thought's i fell to sleep.

i woke up a few hours later,i looked outside and saw it was dark.i looked at the clock,7:12.i sighed knowing trying to go back to sleep won't do me any good,once i wake up there's no way i can go back to sleep.
i got out of my bed and turned the lights on,i walked to my suitcase taking my towel out of it deciding to take a bath,also got my phone and walked in to the bathroom turning the light's on,it was an ordinary bathroom with a tub in it.everything was white except for the walls which were black.i turned the water on and stripped down of my clothes,the tub was half full so i looked at the mirror and examined myself,My face was pale,i had bags under my eyes,my lips had lost their color,over all i looked horrible.my hair even looked dead.
i shook my head at myself and decided not to look in to the mirror anymore.i walked to the tub and saw it was full enough,i turned the water off and got in.i grabbed my phone from the table next to it and decided to play some music.Rihanna's voice filled the bathroom.i closed my eyes in the tub trying to relax.
suddenly out of no where i had an idea,i should get a job.
i don't know why but it hit me all of a sudden.the school will finish in a month and because we wanted to move i got out of school sooner.but thankfully since i was a straight A student my Teachers were kind to me and gave me good grades so i could go to school here with out any problem,it's my last year and i need to study real hard to get to a good college.but since it's summer i thought a summer job wouldn't hurt.i can make my own money and i don't have to bother my Grand ma much.
every other teenager has it so why cant i?
i kept on thinking of what can i do and i thought maybe a waitress or even i could work in a store.
i looked at my phones clock and saw it was already 7:49.
wow time flies.
i got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around myself.i emptied the tub and grabbed my phone,i didn't bother to pause the music.
i walked up to my suit case and got a pair of dark skinny jeans with a white shirt.i got my white underwear and Bra too and changed in to them then i put my black flats on and dried my hair with my towel.i paused my phone and tucked it in too my jean pocket and walked outside of my room.i heard noise coming from the kitchen so i walked in to it.i saw my grand mother humming to herself and putting some stuff in the Refrigerator,i cleared my throat and she turned around.when she saw me she smiled and said:
"your up early!?,i was going to start cooking right now,and then i would've come and woke you up but i guess not anymore."
i nodded my head and told her:
"well,i woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.Granny can i ask you something?"
"of course honey"
"well i was hoping to find a job,you know a summer job so i could have my own money,i'm not saying this because i don't want to take money from you,actually i am but not because of what your thinking,i just want to make my own money,and i thought it would help me spend my summer here actually doing something"
she smiled at me and said:
"of course you can honey,i'm not gonna ban you from having a job,i think it's a great idea"
"you do?"
"yeah why not?"
i smiled at her gratefully and looked outside,i don't have anything to do and a walk wont hurt anyone.so i asked my grand mother:
"granny,can i go have a walk outside until your done with cooking,i would offer to help you but i know you don't like it when someone's in your way when your cooking."
she chuckled slightly and said:
"i never said i don't like it,i just work better when i'm doing it all alone,and ok honey but be careful,and don't get too far we don't need you to get lost on the first day you got here"
"i won't,bye granny"
i kissed her cheek and walked back to my room and got my jacket,then i walked out side and closed the door behind me,the air was kinda cold so i put my jacket on and walked down the stairs in front of the porch.i looked around and decided to go left,we didn't come here often before it was mostly Granny who visited us due to my parents job's.and when ever we cam we only stayed for a day or 2,we never had time to see around or visit other places.i walked down the street,when i reached the end i looked to my right and saw a couple of stores next to each other,one looked like a coffee shop,another a restaurant and the other one was a candy store.maybe i can drink a coffee or something while i'm out,the air is chilly so it would warm me up.
i walked towards the stores and when i was about to walk in a sign caught my attention on the window:
Help needed
normally i wouldn't even notice the sign but now,it meant a lot to me,maybe i can work here!
i walked in and looked around,it was a small place but it would do.i walked up to the cashier and saw a girl with red hair sitting behind it,she looked around my age,she saw me,smiled at me and said:
"hi,what can i get you?"
i smiled back at her and tried to tell her as politely as i could:
"hi,i'm actually here for the sign,you said you needed help and i was hoping i could get a job here"
she said:
"oh,yeah,yeah,let me just get Sara she owns the place"
she stood up from her seat and went back in to where i could only presume was the kitchen,not long after she came back with another girl who looked like she was about 23-24 tops.she walked up to me and said:
"hi,i'm sara and i'm the owner,you said you wanted to work here?"
"yeah actually"
she smiled at me and said:
"well let's talk about it,care to seat,i've been standing in that kitchen for the last hour and i'm exhausted."
"of course not"
we sat down,i could tell both Sara and the red head girl were nice people.she said:
"Well,i told you my name,you didn't tell me yours?"
"oh my name is Rose,Rose Edwards"
"nice to meet you Rose Edwards"
wait a minute,this girl is really nice to me,aren't boss's supposed to be bad to their workers?she said:
"Well,how old are you?"
"i'm 17"
"good,well i need someone to work for me in the mornings in Nicole's place.she's the girl who's standing behind the cashier,she's a waitress she doesn't work there.but i had no choice to put some one there until i find someone,well i found a guy to work from 6 to 10 here but i haven't found some for 7 to 6.you can have breaks and everything i'm not that evil.our breaks are from 11 am to 1 pm,the shop is closed then,but the workers can stay in it.i'll pay you 7.00$ an hour so what do you say?"
i thought about it for a minute,this job is great!it's close to granny's house and i can have the night to myself,so i can hang out.wait,which day's should i work here?
"how many days a week should i be here?"
"5 days a week,from monday to friday"
"i'll take it!"
"great.......wait,you said you were 17 right?"
"yeah"
"aren't you at school during mornings?"
"well i moved from another town to here,and i finished school a month sooner so i don't have school"
"well great,today is tuesday so you can start tomorrow morning"
"great!thank you so much you have no idea how much this means to me"
"no need,i really need a cashier,and i think you would be great for the job"
then she turned towards Nicole and said:
"hey Ni,i found a cashier"
the girl groaned and said:
"finally about time!i'm don't think i can handle another minute being a cashier"
i looked at sara questioningly and asked her:
"why doesn't she like to be a Cashier?"
sara chuckled and said:
" some people aren't exactly nice and Ni here has a short temper for rude people."
my mouth formed an o in understanding and Nicole walked out from behind the cashier towards me and said:
"hi my name's Nicole"
i shook her hand and told her:
"Hi,my name's Rose"
my phone rang and i looked to see my grand mothers name on the screen i told them:
"excuse me for a minute"
i scrolled the green line and answered:
"hello?"
"Rose honey,i just called to make sure you were ok and tell you Dinner's ready"
"ok granny be home in 10"
"see you honey"
"bye"
i finished the call and turned towards Sara and Nicole,i smiled at both of them and told them:
"well,i'll have to go,i guess i'll see you tomorrow"
Sara said:
"looking forward to it"
Nicole said:
"see you tomorrow"
i told them both bye and walked out of the Shop towards the house.
i smiled to myself slightly.maybe it won't turn out as badly as i imagined it would be.
