Fear

"mom can you please not go?"
"why?"
"i don't know,i just have a bad feeling about it"
"well this is an important meeting for me and your father and we cant throw it away because of your bad feeling"
i sighed.they never listen to me.i knew this wasn't going to work.
but i cant help it.when ever i think about them leaving, i get a bad vibe from it.but i didn't say anything.
i was sitting on a couch in my parent's bedroom while they got ready.well mostly my mother since my father was ready about half an hour a go.
for the tenth time that hour my father came in to the room and said:
"Violet,honey can you please hurry?!"
"I told you Jeremy i'll be done in a few minutes"
"you told me a few minutes half an hour a go"
my mom rolled her eyes at my dad.and after brushing her hair probably for the hundredth time she stood up from her seat and said:
"there,now i'm ready to go"
Dad said:
"thank god!"
i smiled at them.i also stood up from my seat and walked up to my dad:
"dad can you please be careful tonight?or can you not go?"
my dad looked at me with worried eyes and said:
"why?is everything alright?is there something wrong?"
"no everything is fine with me.i just....don't want you to go"
"Rose you know i would stay,but this is important for us.i'll promise you i'll be careful.tell you what?i'll call you when we get there,when the meeting is done and when we're close to home so you know we're fine,ok?"
"ok"
my mom said:
"this is not necessary,Rose we'll be fine.don't get worried for nothing."
"ok mom."
she walked up to me and hugged me. while kissing my cheek.she said:
"bye honey.I love you"
i hugged her tightly and told her:
"i love you too mom."
she smiled at me and walked out of the room.i turned to my father and he hugged me too.he said:
"don't worry everything's gonna be alright.I love you Rose"
"love you too dad."
he kissed my forehead and said:
"go rest.no need for you to come down.i'll lock everything and we'll go.just keep your phone with you so you'll know when i'll call"
"ok dad,bye"
"bye honey"
with that he walked out of the room as well.
i sat down on their bed and a couple of minutes later i heard our cars engine come to life.after of a couple of seconds i heard them drive out of the drive way and go away.and then there was silence.
i stood up again and walked towards the door.i turned the lights off and made my way towards my room.i turned on the lights and walked in to my room.i grabbed my phone and left it on the nightstand next to my bed.i got under the covers and turned the light's off from the next to my bed.i looked at the clock.it was 9:45.their gonna be home probably around 12.
i drifted off to sleep not to long after that.

i woke up with the sound of harp coming from my phone.i looked at the clock.11:14.i guess dad's calling me to tell me their done with the meeting.i answered without looking at the id and said:
"hey dad.forgot to call me when you got there"
"excuse me,is this Miss Rose Edwards"
when i heard the sound of the stranger i got fully awake and sat upright in my bed i said:
"yes"
"i'm sorry Miss Edwards but i have to inform you,your parents have been in an accident.we're going to send Police officers to come and get you to come to us.is 17th magnolia street number 43 correct?"
i felt everything spinning around my head after what she told me.an accident?what happened to them?are they alright?
"Miss Edwards?are you still on the line?"
"yes....yes it's correct"
"Miss Edwards,is Miss Petunia storm your Grand Mother?"
"yes but why do you want to know that?"
she ignored my question and said:
"Miss Edwards i need you to get ready now.the Police officers will be at your house shortly"
"ok"
after that i hung up.i was in shock.i couldn't move.i couldn't think.all i knew was too get ready.

i said that over and over again in my head.i got up from my bed and grabbed my jacket.i wore it and grabbed my phone.right then i saw blue and red lights outside from my window and i ran downstairs.i was in the middle of the stairs when i heard the door bell.i opened the door and saw 2 men.one in his 30's and the other in his 40's.the older one said:
"Miss Rose Edwards?"
i nodded my head knowing that if i opened my mouth no voice would come out of it.
"please come with us"
i nodded my head again and closed the door behind me.i was wrapping the jacket around myself and clutching the phone tightly in my hand.i saw one of the officers giving the other one a sad look when he looked at me.what is going on?it's just a simple accident right?nothing more.so why are they acting like this?
i got in to their car and they drove the car to the hospital.they got out and so did i.the younger one this time said:
"please follow us miss"
they walked in to the hospital and i followed them.i kept looking around me,looking for a sign of my father or my mother.but i didn't see them anywhere.maybe it's a broken leg or arm nothing serious.
right?
they stopped in front of a dark skinned woman in her late 30's.she talked to them and then looked at me.she nodded her head to them and then walked up to me with a smile.that kind of smile that you see on someone's face when they want to tell you something bad.i've seen that smile only so many times before.
she put one hand on my shoulder and the other one on my arm robbing it and said:
"rose are you alright?"
i ignored her and asked:
"where are my parent's?"
she sighed and said:
"look rose,you look mature enough to understand this.there's a day that all of us will leave this world.not every one get's to live for ever...."
i cut her off not wanting her to continue anymore knowing perfectly where this was going to end.:
"what are you saying?!tell me where my parent's are?!!"
she said:
"rose calm down"
i was full on yelling right now:
"where are my parents?! Mom?!! Dad!!!!"
"rose calm down please we're in a hospital"
"don't tell me to calm the fuck down!just tell me where are they?!!!"
"rose their gone"
i stopped at that sentence.i looked in to her face hoping to find any reason to say she was lying.she was lying.she has to!my mom and dad aren't gone!
"your lying"
"rose i'm not,please just sit down..."
"your lying!!i'll prove it!i'll call my father right now and he'll answer me.i'll know it he'll answer me and ....and...."
i was crying hysterically.tears were blinding my vision and i couldn't see right so i was hitting my phone with my fingers trying to dial my fathers number.i was saying things that didn't even make sense.the woman said:
"Rose,just sit down..."
"i said no!"
i finally got to dial my fathers number.i said:
"he's gonna answer....i know it....he's gonna answer....."
i waited for the first beep.but it never came.instead there was his voice mail for when he turned off his phone:
"hi,i can't answer you right now,probably because i'm in a meeting or my phone died.so just do your thing"
he must still be in the meeting.that's right.he's still in the meeting.again she said:
"Rose,they won't answer.just please,you need to calm down."
"i'm not going to sit down,not until they answer...."
"rose,we have their bodies in the other room."
i looked at her one more time.i notice her eyes.they were a light blue.just like my fathers.only his was darker and deeper.he always had that glint in his eyes.
had.
had.
their gone.
and with that i felt my body go numb and i fell to the floor,everything went blurry and i heard some yelling before everything went black.
