A Love Story

Layla’s POV.
Luke pulled up in front of my house getting down of the car to walk me to the door. I didn’t want him to I just wanted to jump in my car and fly to Niall’s house before Harry does something stupid, but I couldn’t tell him not to.

“Did you have fun tonight?” he asked his smile beaming lighting up the night sky.

“I really did. Thank you so much.” I blushed. He was so sweet and devilishly handsome I couldn’t help myself.

“Well in that case do you think that there will be a second date?” He asked stepping closer.
I didn’t know what to say, I was wonderstruck by his metallic blue eyes peering straight through mine. My heart racing screaming YES YES I DO and my head telling me to do the complete opposite, wanting this whole thing to be over so I can see Harry.

“Yes, of course.” I forcibly said looking up at him.
He flashed a smile that made butterflies sore through my stomach, he began to slowly lower his head closing his lips to where they were just perfectly parted. I closed my eyes waiting for his soft lips to brush against mine as I engulfed the sweet smell of his cologne. Just when his nose touched mine the song Barbie girl rang and broke the sweet silence that was about to be my first kiss with Luke. His lips closed as stepped back and sighed.
Who could possibly be calling me now?? I franticly searched through my purse and saw the picture of Niall and I at six flags last month. Ugh he couldn’t have chosen a worse time to call. I hit the ignore button and looked up at Luke who seemed to have never taken his eyes off me.

“I really sorry about that.” I smiled looking for the right key to open the door.

“No its fine. Who was it anyway?”
What? Did he really just ask that? How would I explain why Niall would be calling me at 11:30 at night. I just sat there frozen, speechless looking like a complete ass before I realized I had to answer.

“Oh uh, it was just- It was just Adrianne I guess calling for all the details.” I bluffed not daring to look into his eyes.

“Oh okay.” He was halfway down the front stairs by then when I finally found the right key and opened the door.

“And Layla.” He added causing my heart to flutter at the way he says my name but also sink nervous of what he was about to say.

“Yea?” I said biting my lip.

“You are a Barbie girl.” He winked causing me to break out into the biggest smile while also letting out the biggest breathe I didn’t even know I was holding in.

“Thank you love. And I’ll see you soon.” I said walking inside.
As soon as I closed the front door I slid across the polished wood floor crashing into the back door. I slowly walked out to my car not knowing if Luke was still here. I peered around the side of the house to see that thankfully he wasn’t.
I slid into my white Chevy Impala and backed out of the driveway. Niall lived two streets down so I was hoping I would get there in time. When Harry is angry he could do things no one thought even batman can do, and I was so worried because of that.
I reached Niall’s house to see Niall in the door way face red muscles tense and a car about to exit the drive way. I had no doubt it was Harry. Before he had the chance to back out I drove in right behind him so he had no way out.
I ran out of the car leaving my keys in the ignition and the door open. I ran over to the driver side and tried to open the door but it was locked. Harry was just sitting there with his arms crossed on the wheel and with his head rested on top.
“Harry!” I hollered.
“Harry open the door!!”

“Go away Layla. I can’t see you right now.” His deep voice said firmly.

“God Harry please just open the door and we can talk this through.” I begged.

“No Layla. Leave I need to get out of here now!” His head rose from the steering wheel and his voice rose.
“HARRY!” I yelled at the top of my lungs sobbing desperately yanking on the car handle door.
He just yelled in frustration banging the steering wheel causing the horn to honk. I gave up and just began to pour out all my tears that I have been holding back. Everything has just been getting worse and worse. I finally felt the car door open from under me and I stepped back to see Harry more mad than I have ever seen him before.
He was panting and his shirt was ripped from his shoulder muscles still tense from what I think was a fight between Harry and Niall.
I looked straight into his emerald green eyes my lip quivering wanting everything to be over. Harry started pacing up and down the drive way his hands constantly ruffling through his hair when finally he spoke up and said,
“Give me you phone.”
I could have sworn I heard wrong. He wants my phone?

“What?”

“Give me your damn phone!” His voice echoed through the silent streets of the night.
I began to wonder why the hell would he want my phone, then it came to me. Luke. He probably wanted to call Luke and do something as stupid as use him as his personal punching bag.

“No.” I answered.
“If he’s a real man he’ll fight for you.” He said coming closer.

“Harry what the hell are you exactly doing huh? I thought you chose Katie that’s why you slept with her! Just go back to Katie and pretend that I never told you I loved you. Like the accident never happened!” My voice suddenly rose and I got so angry that I marched right up to him to where we were less than 8 inches away, I felt terrible for saying those things but I had to.
I now felt that I was panting from how angry I was at him, of course I wanted him all for myself but he already chose Katie and it would be wrong to do such a thing to her.

“Layla,” he began still panting.

“I love Katie. I always have from the start. But with you everything is-“

“NO! GOD DAMN IT HARRY!! I’ve heard this so many times before!! You need to be with Katie okay?! That’s how this needs to end, me with Luke and you with Katie that’s it!”
Harry just stood there and slid his tongue over his top lip.

“What if he doesn’t treat you the way you should be?” he blurted out.
“It would kill me to see you hurt by him. I don’t know Layla but I feel something strange about this guy.”

“That’s the thing. He does treat me right. He’s super sweet and knows where his line is. He’s romantic and under his bad boy look I really feel he is a genuinely good person.”
I saw a tear trickle down his left cheek right before he said,

“Okay. But if he steps out of line just one time, trust me. I WILL beat the shit out of him.” He said coming from the bottom of his heart.
“ME TOO!” I heard Niall shout from the front steps. I always loved how he just wanted to lighten the mood no matter what.
Harry and I both broke out smiles, I crashed right into his chest giving him the tightest hug balling his shirt in my fist behind his back. We slowly let go and I said,
“Come on lets go inside its cold out here.”
