A Love Story

Sabrina’s POV.
“Turns out your arm is not as serious as I thought it would be. You just need 3 to 4 stitches.” Doctor Harper said.
“Stitches!? The sounds serious to me!” I blurted out
“Well the nail could have been rusty, which could have been a lot worse.”
“Ugh will it hurt?”
“Well can’t lie to you. Yes it will hurt, but lucky for you it will be over quickly.”
Just then I saw Layla walking in the hall, and so Luke because we quickly looked at each other in confusion.
What could she be doing here? I turned back to Luke to tell him to go find out what she’s doing here, but he looked so upset!

“What’s wrong?” I asked

“Candi told me what she did, she is a horrible person.”

“What? Why?! What I heard about her is that she is very sweet!”

“No. Candi told me what happened with her and Harry. You know I was going to ask her out, but Candi came home just in time.”

“I don’t think you can trust Candi. She is very mischiefs, so be careful. My opinion on Layla is that she is sweet and everyone likes her so….”

“Whatever. I’m going to see what the hell she is doing here. I’ll be back.”

“Ok, let me know what happens.”
He walked out the door in the same direction Layla went in.

Luke’s POV.
As I walked down the hall looking inside every room looking for her. Just then I saw her siting on the side of a hospital bed that Harry laid on. He looked to beat up, I felt bad. I wanted to just walk in and yell everything I felt at her. But instead I held it back; I would just get her back tomorrow at the bakery. I know it’s bad to play with a girl’s heart, but this girl… this girl deserved it. I walked back down the freezing cold hospital hall way back to Sabrina.

“Hey, how you holding up?”

“Aside from the throbbing pain in my arm I’m fine.” Sabrina said giving me a half smile.
I didn’t know what to say so I just smiled back.
“Did you find her?” She asked

“Yea. I did.”

“Well! What was she doing?!”

“She was with Harry, sitting on the side of his bed talking cheering him up. That should be Candi! At least Candi didn’t run him over!” My voice rose to a yell and people began to stare.

“Have you ever thought that maybe Candi is lying? I mean the other day I heard her threaten to kill someone. And now look what she did to my arm and she’s not even here!”

“Candi would never kill anyone, and your arm was an accident. Layla’s a bitch and she deserves to pay.”

“Oh god now you sound like Candi…”

Sabrina's POV.
Just then the doctor walked in with two nurses and really scary equipment. My heart drops and I realize my palms shaking.

“Are you ready Ms. Marin?”
I looked down at my shaking palms and wiped my drenched forehead and stuttered,

“Ye-yes. Lets just get it over with.”

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes hoping for the best. As the tip of the first needle entered my freshly cut wound my whole body went into shock, at first I didn't feel anything. Even the pain from my cut was gone. Then it all kicked in, the agonizing pain of needles going in and out of my arm was to much for me to handle. I tried to take deep breaths and it was working until I looked at my arm, I saw the deep red, warm sticky blood everywhere. The doctors hands where covered in my blood, it looked like he had just murdered someone. I have never seen that much blood in my life, I got light headed just by the sight of it. I passed out immediately, I could feel Luke and the nurses shaking me to wake me up but I couldn't move a single muscle in my body. But at least I couldn't feel any pain anymore, I started to daze off and fell into a deep sleep.

It felt as if I had left the world for a while, when I woke up I was still in my hospital bed. I looked to my left and saw Luke on the couch sleeping facing me with his arms crossed as if he was watching me all night. Then I looked to my right and saw Doctor Harper and a nurse writing in a folder while occasionally looking back at me. I could tell it was probably around 5:30 because the sun had just started to come up. I tried to sit up but as soon as I put pressure on my arm a shot of pain came from my finger tips all the way up to my shoulder, it was so painful I let out a yell, that scared me as well. Seconds later I found Luke at the side of the bed and the nurse checking up on my arm.

“You'll be fine, but try as much as much as you can to limit your use on your arm. You will be released later today.” The nurse said smiling and leaving the room.

“Forget whatever she just said, do you feel good enough to leave?” Luke asked concerned.
I smiled and said,
“As long as I have an amazing brother like you, I'll be fine... Thank you for staying the night.”

“Your Welcome, I would never leave you by yourself.”

“Ok now lets get the hell out of here, it's depressing.” I said.

He laughed and left the room to let the doctor know, so I took that time as an advantage to change into my clothes.
Right before we left Doctor Harper gave me an arm sock to rest my arm on while I walk around. In the car Luke turned on the radio, but there is a question that was burning inside. So I clicked it off and asked,

“Did Candi ask about me in the hospital?”
He cleared his throat and said

“ Of course she did! She felt really bad, but she couldn't make it over to the hospital because her car didn't have gas.”

“Really?” I asked relieved.

“Yea. She loves you. I promise. She might not show it but I know she does.”
The conversation felt like it ended there, so I smiled and turned up the radio again.

When pulled into our driveway, Candi's car wasn't there so I figured she got some gas and was at school. We got in the house and Luke asked,
“Do you need anything? I have to go.”

“No I'm good, but go where?”

“School dummy.”

“Oh yea! Ok go haha I'll be here when you get back!” I lauged.

''Alright then bye!”

“NO! Wait!” I shouted

“What?”

“Promise me you wont do anything stupid at the bakery today!”
All he did was sigh and say,
“I can't...” And walked out the door.
